Toni Burrell |
KC Burrell |
KC: Not much. I had a little time to kill before I get ready for Bridget’s party.
TONI: Party?
KC: Yeah Aunt Donna is throwing a welcome home party for her.
TONI: Oh that reminds me.
TONI: I just texted him. I’m not going. I got a lot of work to do here.
KC: Wow I’m kind of disappointed.
TONI: I really wish I could be there but I’m so swamped. Look you guys have a good time. Tell me all about it tomorrow.
Vicky Hudson |
Steven Frame |
STEVEN: Yeah sure.
VICKY: Did you get Donna’s text?
STEVEN: About Bridget’s homecoming party? Yes.
VICKY: Sooo….are you coming alone?
STEVEN: I was wondering when you were gonna get to that. If you’re here to rail on Joy you can turn right back around and…
VICKY: Will you listen to me? I wanted to tell you that I’ve been thinking and I…I will work hard on accepting your relationship with Joy, but I can’t promise anything. I just don’t trust her.
STEVEN: You were given chances to redeem yourself over and over again. Why can’t you afford Joy the same courtesy?
VICKY: Steven you just…you don’t understand. She had an affair with Tyrone years ago, and she tried to kidnap Tyrone and Marley’s baby.
STEVEN: She was young when she had that affair, and Reginald was going to kill Thomasina if she didn’t kidnap the baby.
VICKY: It doesn’t make it right. Look, I don’t want to argue about Joy. I will try very hard to accept that you love her, and that you want to be with her.
STEVEN: I guess that’s a start. Mom I don’t like fighting with you.
VICKY: I don’t either. I just want you to be happy. I want you to be with someone who makes you happy.
STEVEN: And Joy does that for me mom. The sooner you accept it, the better we’ll all be. Joy and I will be at the party.
VICKY: Ummm…okay. I’ll see you then.

AT THE MCKINNONS, ELIZABETH RINGS THE DOORBELL AND
MICHELE ANSWERS IT.
Michele McKinnon |
Elizabeth Hutchins |
MICHELE: That’s good for him and his business right?
ELIZABETH: Oh yeah it is. I wanted to make sure you were ready.
MICHELE: Ready for what?
ELIZABETH: Bridget’s party.
MICHELE: I am. Bridget and I patched things up before she left the hospital.
ELIZABETH: Hmmm don’t you think it’s a bit convenient? I mean you two have a lot to iron out.
MICHELE: I know you don’t like my sister.
ELIZABETH: With good reason.
MICHELE: But I felt like we turned a corner.
ELIZABETH: Annnd she doesn’t remember anything that you told her before she collapsed.
MICHELE: Nope. She said she doesn’t.
ELIZABETH: Look I have to be honest with you. I don’t trust her.
MICHELE: Come on Lizzie I’m so tired of this back and forth between Bridget and me. I really felt like things we settled our differences. This is a new beginning of sorts. Bridget and I are finally gonna be the sisters we’re supposed to be.
ELIZABETH: So you haven’t considered the possibility that she might be playing you?
Bridget McKinnon |
Donna Love |
DONNA: I did sweetheart. Why wouldn’t I have?
BRIDGET: Because I…I’m part of the blame for our family’s problems. Mom and dad got a divorce. Granddad left.
DONNA: And you think that’s your fault? Well it isn’t. We all had a part to play in this, but the most important thing is that we’re putting things back together, and this party is a start.
BRIDGET: I can believe it.
KIRKLAND: Hey you. Ready for your party?
BRIDGET: Oh am I ever.
----------------------------------------------
PART 2
MICHELE: She’s
not going to do that.
ELIZABETH: And what guarantees did she give that she wasn’t setting you up?
MICHELE: If she remembered anything I’m sure she would have run to the police station. I’d probably be in jail right now, but I’m not.
ELIZABETH: I really want you to have a good time with your family but…I really think that you shouldn’t let your guard down.
MICHELE: You don’t get it! It’s over! I don’t want to fight with my sister anymore! She could’ve died. I just want it to be the way it used to be. My whole family has been torn apart because of me and Bridget. Now we have a chance to put things back together like it should be. I don’t want to think anything negative about it. I’m gonna go to the party and have a good time.
ELIZABETH: You know Cory is going, too right?
MICHELE: Really? That’s surprising. My grandma told him to stay away from Bridget and me.
ELIZABETH: He said Bridget insisted he come.
MICHELE: Yeah that is a little weird. She broke up with him.
ELIZABETH: That’s what I’m saying. Bridget has something up her sleeve.
MICHELE: And she might not. She doesn’t even remember what I told her.
ELIZABETH: And do you believe her?
MICHELE: Yes…I do. The feud between Bridget and me is over.
AT DONNA’S SUITE, STEVEN WALKS IN WITH JOY. DONNA GREETS THEM.
DONNA: Hi
honey.
STEVEN: Hey grandma. You know Joy right?
DONNA: Yes I do. Welcome.
JOY: Thank you.
STEVEN: Hey where’s Bridget?
DONNA: She was just here. I think she went upstairs.
STEVEN: Okay. I’ll be right back.
STEVEN LEAVES AS DONNA TURNS TO JOY.
DONNA: Help
yourself. There are refreshments and
drinks.
JOY: I certainly will. Thank you.
DONNA LEAVES AS ALLEN WALKS IN.
ALLEN: Joy hey.
JOY: Hi Allen how are you?
ALLEN: I’m pretty good.

JOY: I certainly will. Thank you.
JOY: Hi Allen how are you?
ALLEN: I’m pretty good.
STEVEN: Hey you.
BRIDGET: Never better.
STEVEN: I’m glad you’re out of the hospital.
BRIDGET: Me, too. Their food is horrible. It feels good just to eat real food again.
STEVEN: Tell me about it. I have to work there.
BRIDGET: You should get Joy to make you lunch.
STEVEN: We don’t live together yet.
BRIDGET: If I were her I wouldn’t live with you either.
BRIDGET: Because I remember mom one morning complaining loudly about the toilet seat being left up one summer when you were here.
STEVEN: How do you know it wasn’t Kirkland? Or Jake?
BRIDGET: Kirkland was away with his grandpa Spencer, and dad had already gone to the Herald.
STEVEN: You and your elephant memory. You know I…missed a lot of yours and your sister’s childhood.
BRIDGET: Doesn’t matter. We kept in touch didn’t we?
STEVEN: Yeah we did, and since you love your big brother so much, I need a favor from you.

MEANWHILE, DOWNSTAIRS, JOY IS STANDING NEAR THE DOOR
AND ALLEN WALKS IN.
ALLEN: Hey Joy.
JOY: Allen hi how are you?
ALLEN: I’m doing pretty well. Where’s Steven?
JOY: He went upstairs to talk to Bridget I guess. So is Toni joining you later?
ALLEN: No she’s not. She has to work. Drink?
JOY: That sounds good.
THEY WALK INTO THE LIVING ROOM AS KC WALKS IN. KC NOTICES ALLEN AND JOY AT THE PUNCH BOWL AS DONNA WALKS UP TO KC.
DONNA: Hi
there.
KC: Hi Aunt Donna.
DONNA: Come on in. Where’s your father?
KC LOOKS OVER AT ALLEN AND JOY, SIPPING THEIR DRINKS
AND LAUGHING. MEANWHILE, A GUY WITH A
BOX COMES TO THE DOOR AND DONNA GREETS HIM.
GUY: Donna
Love?
DONNA: Right here.
GUY: Where to?
DONNA: Oh you can put that right over there next to the end table. Thank you.
KC: I’m gonna go say hi to my dad.
THE GUY WALKS BY AS DONNA TURNS AROUND AND
SMILES. KIRKLAND WALKS UP TO HER.
DONNA: It’s all
coming together. Just like this
family. Where’s Charlie?
KIRKLAND: She wasn’t feeling well so she stayed home. Frankie’s looking after her.
DONNA: She’s in the throes of pregnancy. Another addition to the family.
KIRKLAND: That’s true, but it doesn’t have to be the only one.
DONNA: And exactly what are you referring to?
KIRKLAND: More like who?
DONNA: Oh come on Kirkland.
KIRKLAND: You haven’t given it any thought since we talked about it?
DONNA: Look I just want to celebrate tonight. Your sisters have patched things up.
KIRKLAND: Where’s mom?
DONNA: She’s on her way. This party is gonna be one we’re all gonna remember.
STEVEN AND BRIDGET WALK DOWNSTAIRS.
BRIDGET: Where
are mom and Michele?
DONNA: They’re on their way.
BRIDGET: We can’t start this party without them.
