IN THIS EPISODE:  Dr. Maurice Bingham, Dana Kramer, Allen Love, Toni Burrell, Paulina Cory, Grant Harrison, Gregory Hudson, Elizabeth Hutchins, Lindsay Winthrop, Devin Hutchins

PREVIOUSLY ON ANOTHER WORLD
·         Dana Kramer and Dr. Maurice Bingham had dinner at Tops and have agreed to meet again
·         Upon Allen Love’s return from visiting his mother Nicole Love in Switzerland, he and Toni Burrell have agreed to give their relationship another try.  They were once married and conceived a daughter, KC Burrell.  It was previously believed that KC was Toni’s sister, but Etta Mae and Toni lied and kept KC from Allen.
·         Grant has been on a mission to get Paulina to marry him.  When he saw that Paulina and Jack Snyder were reconnecting (they knew each other from the past), Grant learned that Jack participated in selling Remy, and blackmailed him into breaking up with Paulina and leaving Bay City.  Paulina learned of the blackmail and wanted Jack back, but he decided to work things out with Carly Snyder, his wife.  Grant also has proof that Jack is Remy’s father.  He has not revealed this to Paulina.
·         Devin and Gregory had a heated argument about, among other things, Lindsay.  Devin caught Gregory buying opioids from a drug dealer in Devin’s nightclub.  Devin threatened to tell Lindsay in hopes that Lindsay would break up with Gregory.  Gregory retorted with blackmail, that he would call the State of Illinois and have Devin’s nightclub shut down as Gregory figured out that Devin is (reluctantly) dealing drugs through his nightclub.  Gregory ordered Devin to stay away from Lindsay as he knows Devin has feelings for Lindsay.

PART 1

Dana Kramer

AT DANA KRAMER’S OFFICE, DANA IS SITTING AT HER DESK, AND MAURICE IS SITTING ACROSS FROM HER WITH EMPTY CHINESE FOOD BOXES ON THE TABLE.  MAURICE HAS A BOX IN HIS HAND AS DOES DANA.
Maurice Bingham

MAURICE:  I figured you were hungry.
DANA:  This lo mein is delicious.  Thank you so much for ordering this.

DANA USES HER CHOPSTICKS AND EATS SOME OF HER LO MEIN.

MAURICE:  I’m impressed.
DANA:  With what?
MAURICE:  I haven’t met anyone who knows how to use chopsticks.
DANA:  Now that’s surprising.
MAURICE:  I’m a doctor but I never had interest in going to China.
DANA:  Are you serious?
MAURICE:  As a terminal illness.
DANA:  I’ve been to Beijing; the Great Wall; the Yangtze River.  You don’t know what you’re missing.
MAURICE:  Are you planning on going again?
DANA:  Not anytime soon.  Why?  You wanna visit?
MAURICE:  The little that you said about it sounded interesting.  I mean I’ve seen pictures and documentaries, but they probably don’t do it any justice.
DANA:  They really don’t.

MAURICE PUTS HIS BOX DOWN ON THE DESK.

MAURICE:  Can I tell you something?
DANA:  Go ahead.
MAURICE:  You know this is only the second time I’ve…hung out with you, but I hope you’re enjoying this as much as I am.

DANA PLACES HER BOX ON THE DESK.  THEY SMILE AT EACH OTHER.  DANA GETS UP, WALKS TO THE DOOR, AND LOCKS IT.

MAURICE:  What are you doing?
DANA:  I’m gonna let my actions tell you how much I’m enjoying this.

THEY KISS PASSIONATELY.

MAURICE:  Are you sure…about this?
DANA:  We’re not fifteen years old.
MAURICE:  Not even close.

THEY CONTINUE TO KISS.

Toni Burrell

Allen Love

AT TONI’S, TONI WALKS IN, TURNS THE LIGHT ON, AND SEES TWO LIT CANDLES ON THE TABLE.  ALLEN WALKS INTO THE LIVING ROOM WITH A CHEF’S APRON ON OVER HIS SHIRT AND JEANS.

TONI:  What have we here?
ALLEN:  I’m your chef for the evening.
TONI:  Wow.  This is great, but I just got in.  It was such a long day.  I wish I would’ve known that you were…
ALLEN:  Toni.  Shut up and let me take your coat.  Just relax…and let me serve you.

TONI SMILES.

AT PAULINA’S, SOMEONE RINGS THE DOORBELL AND SHE ANSWERS THE DOOR.

Grant Harrison

Paulina Cory

PAULINA:  What are you doing here?

IT’S GRANT.

GRANT:  May I come in?
PAULINA:  Absolutely not!
GRANT:  I come in peace and it’s cold.

PAULINA WAVES HER HAND FOR GRANT TO COME IN.  HE DOES SO AND PAULINA SHUTS THE DOOR.

PAULINA:  You’ve got five minutes.
GRANT:  I don’t think it will take that long.
PAULINA:  Thank God.
GRANT:  I’ll get to the point.  I know I’ve been pursuing you and…
PAULINA:  You’re blackmailing Jack and you effectively ended our relationship!
GRANT:  I know.  Not exactly my proudest moment.
PAULINA:  Ha!
GRANT:  A part of me is always going to love you Paulina.
PAULINA:  It happened a long time ago.
GRANT:  I know you loved me, too.  I just thought that maybe…you would still have some of those feelings.
PAULINA:  What world do you live in?   You almost burned down my house and almost killed my son!  Did you think I would just forget about that?
GRANT:  Of course not.  I tried to make amends after your husband was killed.
PAULINA:  He was killed because he was protecting you!   Don’t you think you’ve done enough?  My life has been turned upside down because of you!  It’s getting back on track and you want to force me to marry you!
GRANT:  Not anymore!  I’m done.

AT CLUB FREEDOM, MUSIC BLARES AS GUESTS ARE ON THE DANCE FLOOR.  GREGORY COMES BACK TO THE VIP SECTION, BUT SEES ELIZABETH.

Elizabeth Hutchins

Gregory Hudson

GREGORY:  Elizabeth.
ELIZABETH:  Hey.
GREGORY:  Where’s Lindsay?
ELIZABETH:  She went to get you guys a drink.  I’m just keeping her seat warm.
GREGORY:  Your brother gave us free VIP seats.
ELIZABETH:  He gave YOU VIP?  Why would he do that?  You guys aren’t exactly best buds.
GREGORY:  He didn’t do it for me.  He did it for Lindsay.
ELIZABETH:  And you just came along for the ride.
GREGORY:  This place is pretty nice.
ELIZABETH:  Yep it is.
GREGORY:  And how would you know we’re not friends.
ELIZABETH:  Because I heard you guys arguing in the bathroom.  Was that about Lindsay?

MEANWHILE, LINDSAY IS AT THE BAR AS A PATRON STARTS COMPLAINING TO THE BARTENDER.

Lindsay Winthrop

PATRON:  Hey this is drink was weak!  Gimme my money back.
BARTENDER:  You drank it so no.
PATRON:  I wanna speak to the manager.
LINDSAY:  Wait wait.  I’ll go get him.

LINDSAY GOES DOWNSTAIRS TO THE OFFICE, AND FINDS DEVIN.  DEVIN TURNS AROUND AND SEES LINDSAY.

Devin Hutchins

CAMERA PAN ON LINDSAY.  SLOW FADE OUT.  FADE IN TO THEME SONG.

PART 2

MAURICE IS HOLDING DANA AS THEY LIE ON THE COUCH.  DANA IS RESTING HER HEAD ON MAURICE’S CHEST.

MAURICE:  Well this is a pleasant surprise.
DANA:  You didn’t expect this did you?
MAURICE:  Not at all.
DANA:  To be honest I…

MAURICE LOOKS DOWN ON HER AND SMILES.

MAURICE:  You what?
DANA:  I wanted this.  I just needed an opportunity.
MAURICE:  Oh so you wanted to rip my clothes off?
DANA:  You’re funny…and no I didn’t want to rip your clothes off.
MAURICE:  So you just wanted to take them off slowly.
DANA:  Okay okay you got me.
MAURICE:  Judging from what just happened, I’d say you enjoyed yourself.

DANA LIFTS HERSELF UP SLIGHTLY TO FACE MAURICE AND SMILES.

DANA:  Oh so you’re saying you’ve got skills?
MAURICE:  That’s not what I said.
DANA:  You’re implying it.
MAURICE:  Based on your experience, what are your thoughts?
DANA:  Come on doctor, we both know that you can’t make an accurate diagnosis based off one or two visits.
MAURICE:  Are you telling me that you need more evidence counselor?

DANA SMILES.

DANA:  I will need more to present to my court.
MAURICE:  So you’re the judge and jury?
DANA:  You’re learning fast aren’t you?

THEY SMILE, KISS AND PROCEED TO MAKE LOVE AGAIN.

--------------------------------------

ALLEN AND TONI SIT ACROSS FROM EACH OTHER AT THE DINNER TABLE BY CANDLELIGHT.

ALLEN:  Are you done with your plate Ms. Burrell?
TONI:  Yes I am.  Where did you learn to cook?
ALLEN:  I didn’t, but Tops makes great food though.

THEY BOTH LAUGH.

TONI:  Since when did you become such a comedian?
ALLEN:  I’ve learned some things since we split up last time.
TONI:  And in all that time, you still didn’t learn how to cook.
ALLEN:  Come on.  I can boil water.
TONI:  That’s good because I distinctly remember you letting the pot burn when we were together before.
ALLEN:  And you tried to throw water on it to put the fire out.
TONI:  Um no.  YOU were the one who ran, got the bowl out of the cabinet, and started to fill it up with water before I told you to stop.  I got the SALT and poured it on the fire before it got out of hand.
ALLEN:  You were always smart.
TONI:  Flattery won’t get your far here sir.

ALLEN GETS UP, SMILES, AND WALKS TOWARD TONI.  WHEN HE GETS UP TO HER, HE SUPPORTS HIMSELF ON THE TABLE AND BENDS DOWN TO FACE HER.

ALLEN:  So what do I have to do to get somewhere with you?
TONI:  Dinner was a start.
ALLEN:  So you want dessert?

TONI SMILES.

TONI:  Absolutely.  I want something nice…strong…and chocolate.
ALLEN:  Look no further baby.

THEY KISS.

 -----------------------------------------

LINDSAY:  Um you’ve got…a…situation upstairs at the bar.
DEVIN:  Customer doesn’t want to pay for a weak drink?
LINDSAY:  Yeah how did you know?
DEVIN:  My bartender texted me.  I told him not to charge for the drink and give him another one.
LINDSAY:  You’re on it huh?
DEVIN:  Yeah.  I try to be.

DEVIN TURNS AROUND AND SHUFFLES PAPERS ON HIS DESK.

LINDSAY:  Are you okay?
DEVIN:  Yeah I’m fine why do you ask?
LINDSAY:  Nothing…uh…I’m gonna go back upstairs.
DEVIN:  No.  Don’t go yet.
LINDSAY:  So everything’s not okay.
DEVIN:  Shut the door.
LINDSAY:  Wow.  Must be serious.
DEVIN:  It is.
LINDSAY:  What is it?  The club?

DEVIN TURNS AROUND AND WALKS UP TO LINDSAY.

DEVIN:  I can’t hold it back anymore.
LINDSAY:  What are you talking about?
DEVIN:  I have feelings for you Lindsay.  I have for a long time.  Okay.  There I said it.
LINDSAY:  Oh.  I…I don’t know what to say.
DEVIN:  You don’t have to say anything.

DEVIN PLANTS A KISS ON LINDSAY. LINDSAY RETURNS THE KISS AND PULLS BACK.

LINDSAY:  I…I gotta get upstairs.  Gregory’s…waiting for me.

LINDSAY RUNS OUT OF THE OFFICE.  DEVIN LOOKS OUT AT LINDSAY LEAVING, AND SLAMS THE DOOR IN ANGER.

-------------------------

PAULINA:  You’re never done.
GRANT:  I AM done!  I promise you.
PAULINA:  Empty as it might be.
GRANT:  I’m seeing the error of my ways.
PAULINA:  Yeah twenty thousand years later.
GRANT:  Look there’s…there’s always gonna be a part of me that wonders what life would have been like had we stayed together.
PAULINA:  Maybe you wouldn’t have tried to burn my house down.
GRANT:  That was a terrible mistake.
PAULINA:  It was an unintended consequence.  It almost cost me my marriage and my son.  Even if I wanted to move on in some way with you, I could never forget that.  I’ll NEVER forget it.  I want a selfless man.  That’s how you were when we were together, but you changed after you married Vicky.  You were obsessed with getting custody of Kirkland, and covering your own ass.  That’s the kind of man you are, and I don’t want to be with a man like that.

GRANT NODS HIS HEAD.

GRANT:  People…do change over time.
PAULINA:  Except for you.  It’s getting late.  I’d like you to leave.
GRANT:  Paulina I hope…I hope we can move on somehow from everything I did.
PAULINA:  Good night.

GRANT WALKS TO THE DOOR AND GETS A PHONE CALL BEFORE HE LEAVES.

GRANT:  Kelsey?  Oh…alright I’ll be right there.
PAULINA:  What happened?
GRANT:  That was my cousin.  It’s Spencer.  I’ve gotta get to him before it’s too late.

FREEZE FRAME ON GRANT.  SLOW FADE OUT.  END OF 327
