PREVIOUSLY ON ANOTHER WORLD
·         Lily Mason returned to Bay City seeking forgiveness from her leaving her daughter Joy Kramer to be raised by Thomasina and Carter Todd
·         Vicky has expressed to Steven her disapproval of his relationship with Joy, who had an affair a long time ago with Tyrone, and kidnapped Tyrone and Marley’s baby at the order of Reginald Love
·         Maggie remains unconscious after she was found almost naked in the hospital freezer.  Brianna locked her in there after Maggie remembered that Brianna was her kidnapper on the night of Carl Hutchins’ party (the night he died in Rachel’s arms)
·         Brianna has tried, and failed twice, to kill Sharlene.  Brianna is really Ellen Benson, Taylor Benson’s daughter.  Sharlene does not know the exact connection between Brianna and Taylor.
 
PART 1
 
AT THOMASINA’S HOUSE, THOMASINA AND LILY ARE SITTING ON THE COUCH AS LILY TAKES A SIP OF HER TEA.

Thomasina Mason

Lily Mason

LILY:  What kind of tea is this?
THOMASINA:  Chamomile.
LILY:  It’s good.
THOMASINA:  I have it often.  It helps to calm my nerves.
LILY:  Yeah well, maybe that’ll work for me.
THOMASINA:  You’re nervous about Joy?
LILY:  She’s so angry, and it’s all my fault.  Everything she said, she was right.  I chose the streets over my own daughter.  I really don’t deserve her forgiveness.
THOMASINA:  Then that’s on her.  You don’t have to go into all of the reasons why you left her with Carter and me.  We understood why and we gave her a good life.
LILY:  I know…and I’m grateful. 
THOMASINA:  I know you’ve been trying to get in touch with her, but you had to know that she wasn’t gonna take you back that easily. 
LILY:  I know you told me bits and pieces but…how was it raising her?
THOMASINA:  It was just like raising my other two.  Carter did a lot of the heavy lifting at first because I was in medical school.  If I didn’t have him I wouldn’t have made it through.
LILY:  What happened with you two?  Why did y’all break up?
THOMASINA (sighs):  You know people just grow apart.  We were married for a long time and all the kids were grown so…I came back here and got the job as Chief of Staff. 
LILY:  You even changed your last name back to your maiden name.  You still talk to him?
THOMASINA:  We text from time to time.  We mostly talk about the children.
LILY:  I didn’t mean to bring up any bad memories.
THOMASINA:  No it’s okay.   I made the right decision with the divorce. 
 
THOMASINA ANSWERS HER CELL PHONE.  IT’S A CALL FROM STEVEN.

THOMASINA:  Hi Steven.  How’s everything?

STEVEN:  Hey sorry to bother you.  Is Joy with you?

THOMASINA:  No she’s not here.  Is everything okay?

STEVEN:  We had an argument and she left.  I was just checking to see if she was okay.

JOY TURNS AROUND AND FACES STEVEN.
 
JOY:  You refuse to see things from my point of view.
STEVEN:  Well I think your point of view is wrong.
JOY:  Everybody’s entitled to their opinion.
STEVEN:  Joy wait.
 
JOY LEAVES.
 
JOY FLASHES BACK TO THE PRESENT AS VICKY WALKS UP TO HER.

VICKY:  Joy.  Fancy seeing you here.
 
JOY ROLLS HER EYES.
 
JOY:  Vicky.
VICKY:  You look like hell.  Maybe my son wised up and finally dumped you.

AT THE HOSPITAL, MATT VISITS WITH MAGGIE.  MAGGIE IS LYING IN HER BED UNCONSCIOUS AS MATT PULLS UP A STOOL AND SITS AT HER BEDSIDE.

MATT:  Hey.  Got some…flowers for you.   How did you get here?   Lying there….motionless.   Not the feisty Maggie I remember.  All the stunts you used to pull with Nick Hudson.  You know he was no good for you.  He strung you and Sofia along for months.  Then you faked a pregnancy to hold on to him, and it all blew up in your face.  You probably learned all that from your mother, ha! 
 
MATT CHUCKLES LIGHTLY.
 
MATT:  Now look what happened.  You left town, got your life together.  Became a doctor.  I never told you how proud I am of you.  I think I may have I just forgot, but if I didn’t, I’m proud of you Maggie.  You’ll always be family.
 
MATT GETS UP AND KISSES MAGGIE ON HER FOREHEAD.  HE TURNS AROUND AND SEES ANTONIO.

MATT:  Can I help you?
ANTONIO:  She never told you.
MATT:  Told me what?
ANTONIO:  She’s a doctor…and a mother.
MATT:  A mother?
ANTONIO:  She told me a lot about you and your mother.
MATT:  Who are you?
ANTONIO:  I’m Antonio, Maggie’s son.
MATT:  Wow…uh…Maggie didn’t mention a son.
ANTONIO:  That kinda sucks.  I’ll take it up with her after she wakes up.
MATT:  I wonder who would have done this to her.  Who would wanna lock her up in a freezer to die?

AFTER BRIANNA HANGS UP, SHARLENE WALKS INTO THE INTERROGATION ROOM.
 
BRIANNA:  Sharlene what are you doing here?
SHARLENE:  Oh cut the crap.  This definitely isn’t a friendly visit.
BRIANNA:  Then what kind of visit is it?
SHARLENE:  I don’t know what you’re in for, but I came to make sure that you stay here.
BRIANNA:  Excuse me?
SHARLENE:  I know you posed as Dr. Taylor Benson at Wood Pines, and I wanna know why.
 
CAMERA PAN ON SHARLENE…SLOW FADE OUT.  FADE IN TO THEME SONG.

JOY:  I am not in the mood for this.
VICKY:  Well if you don’t wanna see me anymore then stop seeing Steven.
JOY:  Look I am tired and I don’t have the energy.
 
JOY GETS UP AND STARTS TO WALK AWAY BUT STOPS WHEN VICKY TALKS.
 
VICKY:  You know I’m right.  I saw what you did to my sister all those years ago.  How you almost destroyed Marley and Tyrone’s marriage.  I’m not gonna let you hurt my son.
 
JOY TURNS AROUND AND FACES VICKY.
 
JOY:  Oh you’re playing mother bear now.  That’s rich coming from you.
VICKY:  I beg your pardon?
 
JOY TAKES TWO STEPS TOWARD VICKY.
 
JOY:  You’re coming at me like you want to protect Steven from me, as if I’m some kind of predator or monster.
VICKY:  That’s EXACTLY what you are! 
JOY:  And what are you Vicky?  You’re the woman who favors certain children over her other kids.
VICKY:  You don’t know what you’re talking about!
JOY:  You know, Steven and I are getting closer every day.  He tells me how you treat Bridget, and that you shipped him off to his father as if he was some package.
VICKY:  You don’t know anything about that!
JOY:  You favor Michele over Bridget, and you favor Kirkland over Steven!  What kind of a mother does that?  You don’t DESERVE to be a mother!
VICKY:  You bitch!
 
VICKY RAISES HER RIGHT HAND TO SLAP JOY BUT STEVEN GRABS HER WRIST.
 
STEVEN:  MOM! 
 
VICKY TURNS AROUND AND FACES STEVEN.
 
VICKY:  Did you hear what she was saying to me?
STEVEN:  Joy I think we should leave.
JOY:  Good idea.
VICKY:  You’re gonna take her side over mine?
STEVEN:  It isn’t about sides!  It’s about accepting that Joy and I are together.  The sooner you do that, the better.
 
STEVEN AND JOY LEAVE.

ANTONIO:  I don’t know.
MATT:  I’m speechless. 
ANTONIO:  Mom has that effect on people.
MATT:  My mom would be thrilled to meet you. 
ANTONIO:  Are you talking about Rachel?  Mom talked about her all the time.
MATT:  Yeah I bet she did.  Maggie didn’t deserve this.  Who would want to do this to her?
ANTONIO:  I don’t know.  She needs to wake up so she can tell us.
MATT:  I’m glad she has a guard outside.  They can protect her. 
 
MATT LOOKS BACK AT MAGGIE.
 
MATT:  They can make sure whoever did this doesn’t try to finish her off.

BRIANNA:  You’re delusional. 
SHARLENE:  That’s what they told me when I checked.
BRIANNA:  You’re checking up on me now?
SHARLENE:  Taylor Benson is dead.  Thank God.
 
BRIANNA HAS A QUICK MOMENT OF FURY AND SNAPS BACK TO NORMAL.
 
BRIANNA:  I don’t even know who this Taylor Benson is.
SHARLENE:  You don’t?  You mean to tell me that you have no idea how sick that bitch was?    That woman put my family through a living hell.  She did everything she could to get me out of the way so she could have my husband.  
BRIANNA:  That’s…terrible.
SHARLENE:  She posed as my therapist but she was the one who needed help.  She was obsessed with John.  She tried to make it look like I was crazy, but SHE was the crazy one.
 
DANTE OPENS THE DOOR.

DANTE:  Sharlene how did you get in here?
SHARLENE:  I was checking on Brianna, just to see if she needed anything.
DANTE:  Well you have to leave.
 
IN THE BACKGROUND, BEHIND DANTE, RAFAEL APPEARS, THEN LEAVES.

SHARLENE:  Alright I’m going.  Nice to talk to you Brianna.
 
FREEZE FRAME ON SHARLENE…SLOW FADE OUT…END OF 318
