AT THE CENTER, LINDSAY IS SITTING AT A TABLE VIDEO CHATTING WITH STACEY ON HER PHONE.
LINDSAY: I see you made it to L.A. Your place looks great.
STACEY: Yeah the firm paid the rent for the first year. I mean I can’t even believe where this place is located. It’s right downtown; close to everything.
LINDSAY: Except for me.
STACEY: Oh baby. I want you to come see me.
LINDSAY: I will as soon as I can get some time off.
STACEY: Let me know. I’ll clear my schedule. I need to finish unpacking.
LINDSAY’S EYES START TO WELL UP…

TONI: And you didn’t get one, right?
KC: No.
TONI: Okay then. You’re good. She’ll call. Try not to worry about it.
KC’S CELL PHONE RINGS, AND SHE ANSWERS, AND LOOKS TO HER RIGHT.
KC: Hello? Yes this is she. Hi Dr. Mason.
KC LOOKS BACK AT TONI.
KC: Oh...okay. Thank you.

CASS: Was that about the internship?

CASS: Oh no. I’m sorry sweetheart.
CHARLIE: Wow. I...really thought I qualified for the job.
CASS: Maybe...you could ask her what her reasons were behind her decision?
CHARLIE: I dunno. Maybe I should just...move on.
CASS: It couldn’t hurt to ask Dr. Mason why she didn’t hire you.
CHARLIE (smiling): I at least have my husband. He’ll help me deal with this rejection.

ERIC: I got us some tequila. Why don’t you take a couple of shots before we do our thing?
KIRKLAND: No.
ERIC: What do you mean no?
KIRKLAND: It means no more. We’re not doing anything today...or ever again.

TONI: I totally agree. How about dinner tonight?
KC: My mom and dad takin’ me out to dinner? You know I’m not gonna turn that down.

TONI KISSES KC ON HER LEFT CHEEK.
TONI: Congratuations baby.
KC: Thank you. Hey Allen, I’m not trying to cut things short but I gotta get to class.
ALLEN: Cool. I’ll see you tonight?

KC RUSHES OFF WITHOUT HER PHONE. KC’S PHONE GETS AN ALERT, AND ALLEN NOTICES WHERE THE ALERT IS FROM.
ALLEN (reading the text): BAY CITY UNIVERSITY? Installment amount $2000 past due? Total bill $20,000.
ALLEN NOTICES KC COMING BACK.
KC: Hey I….forgot my phone.
KC SEES THE ALERT AND IS A BIT STARTLED.
ALLEN: Everything’s good right?
KC: Yeah...yeah everything’s...gonna work itself out. I’ll see you later.
KC LEAVES AND ALLEN FLASHES BACK..

IRIS STRAIGHTENS HERSELF UP AT HER DESK, FOLDS HER HANDS, AND PLACES THEM ON THE DESK.
IRIS: Allen you are one of my prized employees here at KBAY, and there’s a lot of upward mobility where you’re concerned. This could really...bolster your career.
ALLEN FLASHES BACK TO THE PRESENT.

KIRKLAND TURNS TO ERIC.
KIRKLAND: You don’t get it do you? There’s no us! No more of this! It’s over.
KIRKLAND WALKS TO THE DOOR.
ERIC: No. Please. Don’t leave. What do you want me to do? I’ll...I’ll give you all the footage I have of you.
KIRKLAND STOPS.
ERIC: I’m...I...I’m getting feelings for you. I’ll do whatever. I’ll give you all the material of you sleeping with the bartender. I just wanna...start fresh.
KIRKLAND TURNS AROUND.
KIRKLAND: You can’t be serious.
ERIC: I am. I’m falling in love with you.

KIRKLAND: Wrong? This whole situation is wrong!
ERIC: I mean...you don’t feel anything for me? After what we’ve done together.
KIRKLAND: You are truly sick aren’t you? You and your mother.
KIRKLAND TURNS TO WALK TO THE DOOR AND ERIC GRABS KIRKLAND’S RIGHT ARM.
ERIC: Come on Kirkland. Please. Don’t leave me like this. Please.
KIRKLAND SHAKES HIS HEAD AND WALKS OUT. ERIC HAS A FLASHBACK…

ERIC: I’m building a life mom. I’m making friends. I have a job.
CHRISTY: Friends? Are you talking about Charlie Harrison? You only befriended her to get close to...that’s it. That’s why you wanna stay. Kirkland Harrison.
ERIC JUST LOOKS AT CHRISTY...
CHRISTY: What the...are you falling for him? Son, please, you’ve gotta come with me! If you think you have a chance with Kirkland you’re in real trouble. He is not going to love you the way you want.
ERIC FLASHES BACK TO THE PRESENT
ERIC: Nooooooo!
ERIC THROWS HIS CELL PHONE AT THE DOOR iN ANGER. HE THEN GATHERS HIMSELF, SITS DOWN ON HIS BED, PULLS OUT HIS ROW OF CONDOMS, AND A PIN CUSHION WITH PINS STICKING OUT OF IT.
ERIC: I’m gonna make you pay for that Kirkland.

AT FELICIA’S, FELICIA IS PACING AROUND WITH TWO SUITCASES ON THE FLOOR. SHE SITS ON THE COUCH WHEN DEVIN WALKS IN. FELICIA STANDS UP IN ANTICIPATION.
DEVIN: Hey gram. Are you ready?
FELICIA NODS HER HEAD.
DEVIN: I told mom. She’s expecting you.
FELICIA: I really don’t want to do this.
DEVIN: These charges could destroy everything you’ve worked for. Mitch and I are not gonna let that happen. So let’s go.
FELICIA: Okay.
DEVIN: So Mitch...went down to the station?
FELICIA: Yeah he did.

AT THE POLICE STATION, TONI IS IN HER OFFICE ON HER CELL PHONE.
TONI: We’re close to finding our hit and run driver. I’ll send someone to go pick her up for questioning.
SUDDENLY MITCH INTERRUPTS TONI.

TONI: What are you saying? Are you confessing to being the hit and run driver?
MITCH: Yes.
MITCH HOLDS OUT HIS WRISTS.
MITCH: Arrest me.
TONI FOLDS HER ARMS, TILTS HER HEAD SLIGHTLY TO THE RIGHT, AND LOOKS AT HIM.
TONI: Not so fast Mr. Blake.
MITCH: What are you talking about? I just confessed to causing the accident.
TONI: Because you’re lying through your teeth.

I love how you set up the scenes to tell us who got the internship. I thought we wouldnt find out till later in the episode but nope bam here it is keep the story moving yes. The anti soap. We knew then and there Thank u for that for being non traditional in that regard. I always encourage it. So congrats to KC.

It was also very nice the Charlie went to spend time with her dead. A cute scene.
It was very thoughtful of KC to let her dad know she was not being rude. Im glad they are coming together and it seems Allen may have his moment to really shine and make things right for KC.
Eric was willing to give Kirk the pictures. I know kirk feels the situation is wrong but how does KIRK really feel about sleeping with men and his homosexuality. Is he just gonna brush all that under the rug?? Eric is gonna get Charlie pregnant? I didnt quite get all of that at the end... Love is a dangerous game and they say all is fair in love and war and being the son of Christy there's no telling what Eric has up his sleeve
I didnt know that Mitch was going to confess wow. So they already matched Fe's tire tracks with her car? I ust have forgotten that scene. Now Fe is going to leave town wont that seems suspicious of her. Again looking fwd to where this story goes.
Last two episodes were a bit of a breather. And it was nice to pull back and evaluate the stakes in the storylines. Good job.
Toni knows Mitch lying. I wonder if she’s also knows Felicia’s the one who wasn’t behind the wheel. This could be a huge turning point.
ReplyDeleteFelicia is conflicted about leaving the country, but Mitch and Devin know if she doesn’t, thejig could be up. Hopefully the full truth comes out.
The scenes about the internship were great tension. I love seeing how you play each beat, making sure we see the Charlie and KC’s tensions about the possibility of the internship before we learn who got it. Very well done. I suspect Thomasina had a definite bias in KC’s favour, we could tell from each woman’s interview. This is a great setup for some tense scenes to come.
Eric is about to do something drastic. He can’t escape his roots. Kirkland has put his foot down, but Eric will not take no for answer. In his warped mind, he’s in love wth Kirk. And if he can’t have him, no one can. But instead of taking a gun, he looks to be taking a vastly different approach. Wow.
Great show. Tense, slow building, but great movement. Excellent work.
