PREVIOUSLY ON ANOTHER WORLD

  • Devin Hutchins bought the land that the Harbor Club stood on from Donna Love (Joy burned it down at the behest of Reginald Love) and built his own club (Club Freedom).  The grand opening is coming soon
  • Jake is suspicious that Michele may have had something to do with Bridget's hospitalization, and is seeking evidence to corroborate those misgivings, and Paulina is against it
  • Lily Mason returned to Bay City seeking forgiveness from her daughter Joy Kramer
  • Dana and Maurice had an impromptu dinner at Tops, and agreed to meet again

PART 1

AT THE CENTER, RAFAEL IS SITTING AT A TABLE ON HIS CELL PHONE.

Rafael Santierro

RAFAEL:  I mean I…did some time in jail, but I have experience being a driver.  I did my time and I just need a chance to get on my feet…okay thank you.

RAFAEL PRESSES END CALL.

RAFAEL:  Dammit!

RAFAEL MAKES ANOTHER CALL.

Rachel Cory Hutchins

RAFAEL:  Hi Rachel.  Lucky for me I remembered the landline number.
RACHEL (v.o. on phone):  Rafael hi.
RAFAEL:  Have you been by to see Maggie?
RACHEL: No change last I checked.  I think she could really benefit from you going to see her.
RAFAEL:  Yeah I’m gonna go by in a few but I called because I was wondering if you had any work available on the grounds.
RACHEL:  I’m sorry I don’t.  I have people that work for me now and they do a great job taking care of everything.
RAFAEL: I figured but I’m having a hard time finding work since I got back and being I’m fairly familiar with the estate, I thought you could hire me to do some jobs.
RACHEL:  I really wish I could help you but I’m very pleased with my .  If it’s money that you need I could loan you some.
RAFAEL:  No…no that won’t be necessary.  Thanks Rachel.  I’m gonna go see Maggie.
RACHEL:  If you need anything let me know.
RAFAEL:  Will do.

DANA WALKS UP AS RAFAEL ENDS HIS CALL WITH RACHEL.

Dana Kramer

DANA:  May I sit?
RAFAEL:  Sure.  Although I do have to ask, there are plenty of other seats available.  Why sit across from me?
DANA:  I heard you on the phone.  You’re looking for a job aren’t you?
RAFAEL:  Yeah.  Why are you asking?
DANA:  I’m getting to that.
RAFAEL:  Sorry I don’t know you.
DANA:  You may not know me, but I know you.  In 2002, you were sentenced to twenty five years in prison for drug trafficking, but you were released on good behavior.  You lived in Bay City and you worked for Carl Hutchins.
RAFAEL:  How do you know me?
DANA:  I have my ways of finding what I want Mr. Santierro, but I’m not only here to make your acquaintance.
RAFAEL:  What do you want with me?
DANA:  You’re absolutely perfect the position I have open.
RAFAEL:  So you’re offering me a job?
DANA:  Yes.  Come work for me.
RAFAEL:  What will this job entail?
DANA:  Come back to my office, and we can discuss those details.

AT STEVEN’S LOFT, SOMEONE RINGS THE DOORBELL AND HE ANSWERS IT.

Joy Kramer

Steven Frame

STEVEN:  Joy.
JOY:  May I come in?  I understand if you don’t…
STEVEN:  Of course you can.

JOY WALKS IN AND STEVEN SHUTS THE DOOR.

STEVEN:  I’ve been worried about you since we argued.  You haven’t answered any of my calls or texts.
JOY:  I’ve been…spending time with my mother.
STEVEN:  Wow.
JOY:  I thought about what you said, and I decided to forgive her.

---------------

Felicia Gallant Blake

Lily Mason

AT THE BLAKE’S, SOMEONE RINGS THE DOORBELL AND FELICIA ANSWERS IT.

FELICIA:  Oh my God.  Lily?
LILY:  In the flesh.
FELICIA:  Well don’t just stand there.  Come in come in.

THEY HUG.

LILY:  I had to come and see you.
FELICIA:  It’s been so many years.  How are you?
LILY:  I couldn’t be better.
FELICIA:  That’s good.  I saw your daughter Joy.  I knew her father pretty well.
LILY:  Marshall?
FELICIA:  We worked together when we were at Cory Publishing.
LILY:  I always knew he was gon’ make it.
FELICIA:  He was a very nice guy.
LILY:  So why didn’t it work between you and him?

-----------------

Jake McKinnon

Thomasina Mason

AT THE HOSPITAL, JAKE ARRIVES AT THOMASINA’S OFFICE.

JAKE:  You called.
THOMASINA:  Yes.  Thanks for coming.

THOMASINA WALKS OVER TO HER DESK AND SITS DOWN AT HER COMPUTER.  JAKE SITS ACROSS FROM HER.

JAKE:  You said something about the breach.

THOMASINA PRINTS SOMETHING AND GRABS IT OFF THE PRINTER.

THOMASINA:  I can’t give you any specific details.  But this.  This tells you when it happened.

SHE GIVES JAKE THE PIECE OF PAPER, THEN PRINTS SOMETHING ELSE OUT.

THOMASINA:  And this is when Bridget visited her OB.

JAKE COMPARES THE TWO PIECES OF PAPER.

JAKE:  Oh my God.  This isn’t what I wanted to see.

CAMERA PAN ON JAKE.  SLOW FADE OUT.  END OF PART 1.

----------------------

PART 2

STEVEN:  That’s…that’s fantastic.  I know it couldn’t have been easy for you.
JOY:  No it definitely wasn’t.
STEVEN:  Do you feel like I…pushed you into doing it?
JOY:  No…no not at all.  It was exactly what I needed.

JOY SITS DOWN AND STEVEN SITS NEXT TO HER.

STEVEN:  How did it go between you and Lily?
JOY:  She didn’t say anything that she didn’t say before.  I just listened this time.
STEVEN:  You were more receptive.
JOY:  Right.  And I…I understood where she was coming from.  For the first time I finally got it.  The lifestyle she was living was no place for a child to be.  So she left me with Thomasina and Carter to raise.  I saw where she was coming from.
STEVEN:  You look like a weight has been lifted off of you.
JOY:  I always felt like I was carrying this resentment around.  I developed a rough exterior because of it.  It was a protection mechanism.

STEVEN RUBS JOY’S NECK AND BACK AREA.

STEVEN:  I saw right through it the first day I met you.  I saw someone who had a good heart.  You had love to give.
JOY:  And you didn’t give up on me.
STEVEN:  I fall in love with you more and more each day.  Your beauty, your strength.
JOY:  And my aggravation.

THEY LAUGH.

JOY:  I’m sorry I snapped at you like that.  I’m sorry that I brought up your mother the way I did.
STEVEN:  Shhh.  I forgive you.

STEVEN LEANS IN TO KISS JOY WHEN HIS PHONE VIBRATES.  HE CHECKS THE TEXT.

STEVEN:  Might be one of my patients.

STEVEN CHECKS THE TEXT.

STEVEN:  Wow.
JOY:  What is it?
STEVEN:  Guess Bridget taught grandma how to text.

STEVEN LOOKS AT JOY.

STEVEN:  Donna’s throwing a homecoming party for Bridget, and we’re invited.
JOY:  What about your mother?  I’m sure she’s gonna be there.
STEVEN:  Don’t worry about my mother.  I’ll handle that.

STEVEN PUTS THE PHONE ON THE TABLE, THEN KISSES JOY.

-------------------

FELICIA:  I didn’t quite see him as a romantic interest.
LILY:  I don’t how see you didn’t.  All that fine chocolate.

THEY LAUGH.

FELICIA:  He left town shortly after.  Then I fell in love with John.
LILY:  Are you talking about John Hudson?  Sharlene’s husband.
FELICIA:  There are a hundred stories I could tell you.
LILY:  Me, too.  I had to come see you because…because of Wallingford.

FELICIA SMILES.

FELICIA:  Yeah.  I miss him every day.  After everything that’s happened, I wonder what he would say to me.
LILY:  I don’t know what he would say, but I know what he wouldn’t do.  He wouldn’t judge you.  He would tell you about yourself.

FELICIA CHUCKLES.

FELICIA:  He sure would.
LILY:  But, we would go on like nothing ever happened.   He was the best.
FELICIA:  Yes he was.
LILY:  That little man had big spunk.

FELICIA SMILES AND SIGHS.

FELICIA:  I’m sure he’s looking down on us from heaven.
LILY:  He died in peace.  You know that’s the best thing in the world…peace.
FELICIA:  Have you spoken to Joy?

LILY SMILES.

LILY:  Yes.  She forgave me.  She felt like I abandoned her.  After I explained everything she…she understood.   She was so angry, and I was responsible for that.
FELICIA:  Lorna was the same way when I found out she was my daughter.
LILY:  When she forgave me, and we cried, and hugged, I saw her spirit lighten.  If you asked me why I came back to Bay City, it’s because I wanted my daughter’s forgiveness.  Now I can…be at peace.

SOMEONE KNOCKS ON THE DOOR, AND FELICIA ANSWERS IT.

Devin Hutchins

FELICIA:  Devin.  Oh come in.
DEVIN:  Hey grandma.
LILY:  Who is this good looking young man?
FELICIA:  He’s my grandson Devin.
LILY:  Nice to meet you Devin.  Well I’m gonna get out of here.
FELICIA:  Ooh Lily.  Thank you for coming by.

THEY HUG.

LILY:  Take care.

LILY LEAVES AND DEVIN TURNS TO FELICIA.

FELICIA:  Hey I’m glad to see you.  What brings you by?
DEVIN:  Came to check on you.
FELICIA:  Aren’t you nice.  I’m fine.  Wait a minute.  Your club is going to open soon.
DEVIN:  Yep.  Tomorrow.
FELICIA:  Are you ready?
DEVIN:  Absolutely.

-------------------------

AT DANA’S OFFICE, DANA IS SITTING BEHIND HER DESK AND RAFAEL SITS ACROSS FROM HER.

RAFAEL:  So that’s what I’d be doing?
DANA:  Yes.
RAFAEL:  So what makes you think I’m perfect for this job?
DANA:  Put it like this.  You don’t like to get your hands dirty, but you don’t mind some dinginess.
RAFAEL:  The dirtiest I got was taking down the Cory Ice House and touching the side of the unwashed limo.
DANA:  You don’t have to downplay it.  You worked for Carl Hutchins.  Even after he married Rachel he wasn’t the mostly saintly man in town.
RAFAEL:  But you’re a hotshot attorney not a reformed criminal.
DANA:  The way I see it, Rafael, is that you don’t have a whole lot of choices.  I don’t think any other place in town is going to put a convicted felon on their payroll.  Look, if you need time to think about it, which I couldn’t imagine why you would need that, then I’ll give you twenty four hours.

RAFAEL GETS UP, WALKS TO THE DOOR, STOPS AND TURNS AROUND TO FACE DANA.

RAFAEL:  I’ll take the job.
DANA:  I knew you'd make the right decision.

DANA SMILES WHEN MAURICE KNOCKS ON THE DOOR, CARRYING FLOWERS.

RAFAEL:  Looks like you got a visitor.
DANA:  I'll be in touch.  Welcome aboard.

RAFAEL WALKS OUT AS MAURICE WALKS IN.

Maurice Bingham

DANA:  Oh my God,  I’m so sorry I lost track of time.

DANA LOOKS AT THE FLOWERS.

DANA:  Who are those for?
MAURICE:  Oh these.  I…um…lost a bet with another doctor so I have to carry these around town.
DANA:  You’re a gambler.
MAURICE:  Would you mind putting these in water?  You can keep these.
DANA:  So you’re not taking them along with us for our…conversation.
MAURICE:  Nah.  You can leave them here.

DANA AND MAURICE SMILE AT EACH OTHER.

---------------------------

THOMASINA:  Jake do you have an idea of who might have been behind this?
JAKE:  No.  I was just trying to verify when Bridget had her test and when the breach happened.
THOMASINA:  Nobody else’s personal health information was compromised during the breach.  Just Bridget’s and someone else’s.

JAKE GETS A TEXT FROM DONNA.  THE TEXT READS:  Come one come all.  Welcome home Bridget.  Party tomorrow.  Bring Paulina.

JAKE:  Umm I have to leave.  Can I keep these?
THOMASINA:  There’s no specific information on those sheets so you can keep them.

THOMASINA GETS IN FRONT OF THE OFFICE DOOR, BLOCKING JAKE FROM LEAVING.

THOMASINA:  If you know who did this, you need to come forward.
JAKE:  If I knew, don’t you think I would tell you?  I thought the hospital was investigating.  These papers don’t prove anything.  These are only dates.  Nothing specific.
THOMASINA:  True, but call me if you think of anything.
JAKE:  I will.

THOMASINA WALKS BACK TO HER DESK AND JAKE LEAVES.

OUTSIDE OF THE OFFICE, JAKE MAKES A PHONE CALL.

JAKE:  I have to talk to you.

FREEZE FRAME ON JAKE.  SLOW FADE OUT.  END OF 324

IN THIS EPISODE:  Dana Kramer, Thomasina Mason, Lindsay Winthrop, Bridget McKinnon, Jake McKinnon, Paulina Cory, Frankie Frame, Kirkland Harrison, Donna Love, Maurice Bingham

ALSO:
Dana calls in a favor
Bridget goes home

PREVIOUSLY ON ANOTHER WORLD
·         Charlie Winthrop Harrison alleges that Thomasina Mason didn’t hire her for the Public Relations Internship at Bay City Medical Center because she was white.  Thomasina hired KC Burrell instead.  Charlie sought legal advice from Cass.  Charlie was unsure about suing Bay City Medical Center for fear of racial fallout
·         Bridget has awakened from a medically induced coma due to an anaphylactic episode.  Her sister Michele switched tests to make it look like Bridget had chlamydia.  It was later found that she never had it at all.
·         Kirkland encouraged Donna to find her triplet

PART 1

AT THE HOSPITAL, DANA AND THOMASINA ARE IN THOMASINA’S OFFICE.

Dana Kramer

Thomasina Mason

THOMASINA:  Well the board doesn’t seem to know about it yet.  They certainly would’ve notified me.
DANA:  How it happened isn’t the most important thing.
THOMASINA:  I didn’t intend for anyone to hear that.  I certainly feel like I had a good reason.
DANA:  I know exactly what you’re talking about, and I understand, but the law isn’t on your side.
THOMASINA:  Do you think this is gonna go to court?
DANA:  If Charlie decides to sue the hospital, the board is going to come after you, and I won’t lie to you…we’re gonna have a fight on our hands.
THOMASINA:  I think it’s going to be very hard for them to prove that I discriminated against her.
DANA:  The burden of proof in a civil trial isn’t as great as it is in a criminal case.

THOMASINA GETS UP AND WALKS TOWARD HER FILE CABINET ON HER LEFT AS SHE STARTS TO THINK ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF A LAWSUIT.

THOMASINA:  So they don’t need any hard evidence so to speak.
DANA:  No.  Charlie’s word could be enough.
THOMASINA:  Don’t they need someone else to corroborate it?
DANA:  It sure would help their case.
THOMASINA:  Russ is the only person who could.

THOMASINA TURNS AND FACES DANA.

THOMASINA:  This could be bad.

DANA GETS UP.

DANA:  Don’t worry about it friend.  I’ll handle everything.

DANA LEAVES.

 ---------------------

OUTSIDE OF THE OFFICE, DANA TAKES OUT HER CELL PHONE AND MAKES A PHONE CALL.

DANA (on phone):  Hey it’s me.  I need you to do me a huge favor.  Besides, you owe me.

-----------------------

MEANWHILE, LINDSAY AND BRIDGET ARE IN BRIDGET’S ROOM.

Bridget McKinnon

Lindsay Winthrop

LINDSAY:  You look like you’re ready to bust out of here.
BRIDGET:  You don’t know the half of it.  I’m ready to eat some real food.
LINDSAY:  Everybody complains about that.  The suggestion box should be full by now.
BRIDGET:  They haven’t made the changes because the food’s still bland.
LINDSAY:  You know why they do that.
BRIDGET:  The same reason I ended up in the hospital in the first place.
LINDSAY:  Well you’re about to go home.  Are you still living with your grandmother?
BRIDGET:  Yep.  I don’t see myself moving back in with my mom any time soon.
LINDSAY:  Has she been by to see you?
BRIDGET:  Oh she’s been here, begging for forgiveness after how she’s treated me.
LINDSAY:  I understand.  It’s gonna take some time.  I know you love her.
BRIDGET:  I kinda don’t wanna talk about my mom right now.
LINDSAY:  Okay.  So Jake and Paulina are coming to take you home?

JAKE AND PAULINA WALK IN.
Jake McKinnon

Paulina Cory

JAKE:  You know it.
PAULINA:  Hey Lindsay.
LINDSAY:  Hi Paulina.

LINDSAY GOES TO HUG JAKE.

JAKE:  Hey there.
LINDSAY:  She’s ready to go.
BRIDGET:  Yeah.  You don’t know how much.

---------------------------

AT THE WINTHROP’S, FRANKIE ANSWERS THE DOOR AND SEES KIRKLAND.

Kirkland Harrison

Frankie Frame

FRANKIE:  Kirkland hi.
KIRKLAND:  May I come in?
FRANKIE:  Sure.  Can I get you anything?
KIRKLAND:  No.  No I’m fine.
FRANKIE:  So what brings my son-in-law out here?
KIRKLAND:  I need to ask you a favor.
FRANKIE:  Sure what is it?
KIRKLAND:  It’s for Donna.

----------------------------
AT DONNA’S SUITE, DONNA IS ON HER CELL PHONE.

Donna Love

DONNA (on the phone):  I’m throwing a homecoming party for Bridget and I wanted all of the family over.  Marley’s coming, and she’s bringing your grandson.  It wouldn’t be complete unless you came home…what do you mean you can’t come?  Don’t let your family down Michael.

CAMERA PAN ON DONNA.  SLOW FADE OUT.  FADE IN TO THEME SONG.

-------------------

PART 2

FRANKIE:  For Donna?
KIRKLAND:  She was telling me about a long lost child.
FRANKIE:  Oh.  She had a third child after Vicky and Marley?
KIRKLAND:  I guess you could say that.  I mean if she did, this child would have only been minutes younger.
FRANKIE:  Wow.  So Donna had triplets?
KIRKLAND:  Reginald took the baby away from her.  When she was talking about it, you could see in her eyes, like this was a missing piece of her heart.
FRANKIE:  That’s almost shocking.  Not about Reginald taking the baby from her.  I wasn’t around Donna a lot but I’m sure I would have heard about it.
KIRKLAND:  She needs to find out where Mary McKinnon is.
FRANKIE:  Kathleen’s mother.
KIRKLAND:  Kathleen?
FRANKIE:  Someone Cass used to be married to.  Anyway, um it sounds intriguing, but I’m sorry…I can’t do it.
KIRKLAND:  Why not?  I’m gonna make sure you have all you need to complete the job.
FRANKIE:  I’m planning my wedding to Cass.  I won’t be able to devote the time that I need to finding out what you want.
KIRKLAND:  Oh I’m sorry I should’ve been more mindful of that.

FRANKIE WALKS OVER AND TAKES A CARD OUT OF HER PURSE.

FRANKIE:   No problem.  I can recommend someone for you.

FRANKIE GIVES THE CARD TO KIRKLAND, AND KIRKLAND READS IT.

KIRKLAND:  Jackson Giles?
FRANKIE:  He has an office right outside the city.  Go to his website.  He has an excellent record, and I wouldn’t recommend him to you if he wasn’t any good.
KIRKLAND:  I believe you.  Thanks Frankie.  I’ll give him a call.
FRANKIE:  Hope it works out for you.

 ---------------------

DONNA:  There isn’t anything more important than your family.  We’re finally coming together and the girls and the boys would like to see their grandfather.  There’s no reason for you not to come…What do you mean you have plans?  Stacey?

JAKE, PAULINA, AND BRIDGET WALK IN.

DONNA:  You’re forsaking your family for STACEY?!  Hello? Hello?

DONNA LOOKS AT HER PHONE, SIGHS, AND FACES JAKE, PAULINA AND BRIDGET.

DONNA:  Hi.  Welcome home honey.

DONNA AND BRIDGET HUG.

DONNA:  I had your room thoroughly cleaned.
BRIDGET:  Thank you grandma.  It’s gonna feel great being in my own bed.
DONNA:  I’m glad you’re home.
BRIDGET:  I’m gonna take my stuff upstairs.
JAKE:  We’ll be down here if you need anything.
BRIDGET:  Thank you dad.
PAULINA:  I’ll help you.

PAULINA AND BRIDGET GO UPSTAIRS.

DONNA:  She looks healthy.
JAKE:  Hope it stays that way.
DONNA:  The whole thing was weird wasn’t it?  First the doctors said she had chlamydia.  Then prescribe her an antibiotic that she’s allergic to.  It was just…a mess.  I mean how could the hospital get that wrong?
JAKE:  I’m looking into it.
DONNA:  They need to be held accountable for their mistake.  Bridget could have died.
JAKE:  I completely agree.  Whoever’s responsible for this should have their feet held to the fire.

PAULINA AND BRIDGET RETURN TO THE LIVING ROOM.

BRIDGET:  I’m going to the kitchen to get something.
DONNA:  Since you’re all here I might as well tell you.  I’m happy to have you back Bridget, and I wanted to throw a celebration.  Kind of like a welcome home party.
PAULINA:  That sounds great Donna but Bridget just got out of the hospital.
JAKE:  Honey if you’re not up to it then you don’t have to…
BRIDGET:  Who would be coming?
DONNA:  I’d invite the family.  I would have a talk with your mother first…
BRIDGET:  No.  I want them all here.  Mom, Michele. Kirkland, Steven.  It sounds like a great idea.
DONNA:  Your Aunt Marley has already agreed to come.  I’ll make some calls.   It’s a party!  It’ll be bittersweet.
JAKE:  Was that Michael you were talking to when we walked in?
DONNA:  Michael’s decided that he’s not coming.  He’s got plans with your baby’s mother.
JAKE:  He and Stacey are back together?

DONNA SADDENS FOR A SECOND, BUT GATHERS HERSELF.

DONNA:  Yeah but…no matter.  I’m gonna celebrate Bridget’s homecoming with the rest of my family.

------------------------

DANA IS STANDING AT THE ELEVATOR AS THE DOORS OPEN.  SHE’S ON HER PHONE.

DANA:  Thank you so much.  Bye bye.

DANA GETS ON THE ELEVATOR AND MAURICE STEPS ON AS THE DOORS SHUT.
Dr. Maurice Bingham

DANA:  Hey you.
MAURICE:  Hi there.   How’s it going?
DANA:  Hmmm pretty busy.

THERE IS A MOMENTARY SILENCE AS THEY BOTH STARE STRAIGHT AHEAD, THEN THEY FACE EACH OTHER.

DANA AND MAURICE (at the same time):  I’m sorry I haven’t…

THEY LAUGH.

DANA:  I understand.
MAURICE:  I started to wonder when we were gonna continue the conversation we had at Tops.
DANA:  I’ve just been so busy, but it’s no excuse.
MAURICE:  No I should have reached out.
DANA:  Okay so we’re both negligent in setting up the next…talk.
MAURICE:  If you’re willing, we could rectify this impasse and meet up again.  What do you say?  Pick you up tomorrow at 6:30?

DANA SMILES.

DANA:  Yeah.  6:30 it is.  I look forward to it.

THE ELEVATOR DOORS OPEN.

MAURICE:  Me, too.  See ya then.

MAURICE WALKS OUT AND DANA LOOKS DOWN, LOOKS BACK UP AND CONTINUES TO SMILE AS SHE WALKS OUT OF THE ELEVATOR.

--------------------------

IN THE CAR, JAKE IS DRIVING WITH PAULINA ON THE PASSENGER’S SIDE.

PAULINA:  You know I’m looking forward to this party.  What about Michele?  I hope they don’t end up arguing.
JAKE:  You’re not gonna believe this but I saw them hugging.  I’m wondering if they actually made up.
PAULINA:  They were hugging.  I think things are finally good between them.
JAKE:  It kind of feels like fool’s gold.
PAULINA:  So you don’t believe it.  Who’s being fake?
JAKE:  I don’t think any of them are acting.  I just don’t think everything is done yet.
PAULINA:  Are you talking about that security breach again?  Come on Jake.  Nobody wanted Bridget to get hurt, especially not her own sister.
JAKE:  Dr. Mason told me that the hospital is investigating.
PAULINA:  What do you expect them to find?  I don’t even know why you’re pursuing this.
JAKE:  I need to turn over every stone.  I need to be sure that…
PAULINA:  Say it Jake.  You want to make sure that Michele had nothing to do with it.
JAKE:  You saw how she was acting at the hospital when Dr. Matthews told us about Bridget’s condition.
PAULINA:  That doesn’t make her guilty of anything.  I don’t understand why you and Vicky take sides.  Maybe you guys are partly responsible for their division.

JAKE STOPS THE CAR.

JAKE:  I think this is your home.
PAULINA:  What’s the matter?  You don’t wanna hear the truth?  You take Bridget’s side, and Vicky takes Michele’s side.
JAKE:  Nobody’s taking sides here.
PAULINA:  You suspect one daughter of hurting the other.  You and Vicky need to stop this.   If you don’t, you might cause damage to your family that you won’t be able to repair.

PAULINA GETS OUT OF THE CAR AND SHUTS THE DOOR.  JAKE GETS A CALL FROM THOMASINA ON THE CAR BLUETOOTH.

JAKE:  Hi Dr. Mason.
THOMASINA (v.o.):  Jake hi.  I got a report from the security breach investigation.  Whenever you want to come to the hospital we can discuss it.
JAKE:  Okay.  Thank you.

JAKE PRESSES END CALL.

JAKE:  God I hope it’s not what I think it is.

FREEZE FRAME ON JAKE.  SLOW FADE OUT.  END OF 323

ALSO:  Iris gets bad news; Charlie makes an important decision; Dana warns Thomasina

In this episode:  Charlie Winthrop Harrison, Thomasina Mason, Cass Winthrop, Dana Kramer, Iris Spaulding, Vivien Gorrow, Jr., Devin Hutchins, Antonio Santierro, Brianna Jameson, Sharlene Hudson, Frankie Frame, Maggie Winthrop

PREVIOUSLY ON ANOTHER WORLD
  • Charlie was conflicted on whether to file a racial discrimination lawsuit against Bay City Medical Center
  • On an investigative trip to Springfield, Iris learned that she and Alexandra Spaulding were half sisters (Brandon Spaulding is their father)
  • Devin was forced by a mystery drug kingpin to allow him to use Devin's new club as a front for the operation.  Antonio also works for this drug kingpin
  • Sharlene and John have been desperate to try and connect Brianna to Taylor.  Brianna is really Ellen Benson, Taylor Benson's daughter.  Taylor died weeks ago, but her deathbed wish to her daughter was for her to "finish" Sharlene Hudson.
  • Before Cecile confirmed that Maggie was Cass's daughter, Maggie disowned her mother and changed her last name to Winthrop.  Brianna kidnapped Maggie to help Christy get leverage over Cass so Christy can get a sperm sample from Cass to get pregnant.  Maggie remembered that Brianna was her kidnapper, so Brianna kidnapped her again and locked her in the hospital freezer.

AT THE HOSPITAL, CASS CONFRONTS THOMASINA…

CHARLIE WALKS UP AND SEES THEM FROM A SHORT DISTANCE, AND IS IN EARSHOT.
Charlie Winthrop Harrison

 CASS:  You discriminated against Charlie.
THOMASINA:  That’s a very serious accusation, of which you have no proof.
CASS:  If the hospital board got wind of it, they’d start digging.

DANA KRAMER NOTICES CASS AND THOMASINA AS WELL AND IS ALSO IN EARSHOT.  CHARLIE WALKS AWAY, AND DANA APPROACHES THEM.

Dana Kramer

DANA:  Don’t say another word Thomasina.   Cass may I ask why you’re questioning her?
CASS:  I’m just trying to get some answers.
DANA:  Answers to what questions?
CASS:  Why don’t I let Thomasina tell you that counselor?
DANA:  Well it sure looked like you were badgering her.
CASS:  I’ll be in touch with your superiors Thomasina.

CASS WALKS AWAY AND DANA TURNS TO THOMASINA.

DANA:  Do you mind telling what that was about?
THOMASINA:  Let’s go to my office.

Iris Spaulding

AT IRIS’S SUITE, VIVIEN WALKS TO THE ELEVATOR DOUBLE DOORS AND IRIS EMERGES.

IRIS:  Don’t you have some work to do?
VIVIEN:  I need to go out annnnnd get some cleaning supplies.
IRIS:  Just don’t get any ideas about going to the Corys.
VIVIEN:  To the Corys.  I’m not like that.  We made a deal.  I work for you, I won’t tell Rachel anything.
IRIS:  Hurry back.  I’m not paying you to run around town.

IRIS GETS A CALL ON HER CELL PHONE.

IRIS:  Hello...what?   Oh my God…I’ll…I’m coming as soon as I can.

IRIS PRESSES END CALL.

VIVIEN:  What happened?   You look like you just got some bad news.
IRIS:  I did.  My sister died.  I have to go to Springfield.
VIVIEN:  Oh my God.  Are you talking about Amanda?
IRIS:  No.  Alexandra Spaulding.
VIVIEN:  I’m so sorry.  I’ll make sure that this place by the time you get back.
IRIS:  You don’t have to…clean anything.
VIVIEN:  You’re paying me to…
IRIS:  Don’t you wanna ride in a fancy car to Springfield?  I don’t want to go by myself.  Come with me.

Devin Hutchins

AT DEVIN’S CLUB, DEVIN LOOKS AROUND AND SMILES AS HIS CLUB IS COMPLETED. ANTONIO WALKS IN.

DEVIN: T what’s up?
ANTONIO: Nice place you got here.
DEVIN: We’re gonna open this week.
ANTONIO: What time do you want me come? I’m probably gonna be a little bit younger than the rest of your customers.
DEVIN: No you’re just about in their age range.
ANTONIO: We can make a killing.
DEVIN: You know I really don’t want to do this.
ANTONIO: I don’t either, but I gotta protect the ones I love. King has no problem coming after them or me
DEVIN: Yeah I found out the hard way.
ANTONIO: You know what happened to my mom right?
DEVIN: I know. They said they found her in the freezer.
ANTONIO: That’s what I’m afraid of. This guy’s ruthless.
DEVIN: Doesn’t sound like the style of a drug kingpin, especially when you haven’t posed any type of threat.
ANTONIO: I don’t wanna get on King Lear’s bad side. That’s why I just do what he says, even if I don’t want to.
DEVIN: I know he wants you at the opening. It’s a big opportunity, but you can’t get caught. I would lose the club quicker than I acquired it. About your mom, I’m thinking someone else locked her in that freezer.
ANTONIO: You really think so?
DEVIN: I mean if he wanted to hurt her to get to you, he would just send someone to do it, and he probably would hurt you instead of her. It just doesn’t make sense that he would have your mother locked in a hospital freezer.
ANTONIO: My mom doesn’t have any enemies. Who else would have done that to her?

Brianna Jameson

IN FRONT OF BRIANNA’S APARTMENT, BRIANNA GETS A PHONE CALL.

BRIANNA: Hello.
V.O./PERSON ON PHONE: Hi is this Ellen Benson?
BRIANNA: This is Ellen.
V.O.: This is Ashley from Bright Woods Hospice. We have the last of your mother’s personal effects. If you’d like to come get them.
BRIANNA: Yes. I’ll be right there.

BRIANNA WALKS AWAY AND FROM AROUND THE CORNER WALL, SHARLENE EMERGES.

Sharlene Hudson

CAMERA PAN ON SHARLENE. SLOW FADE OUT. FADE IN TO THEME SONG.

-----------------------

PART 2

SHARLENE IS DRIVING, FOLLOWING BRIANNA, AND SUDDENLY HER CAR SLOWS DOWN.

SHARLENE: No. NO!

SHE PULLS OVER AND STOPS.

SHARLENE: This is crazy.

SHARLENE CALLS SOMEONE ON HER PHONE.

SHARLENE: Hey I… need some gas.

------------------------

MEANWHILE BRIANNA IS DRIVING HER CAR, LOOKS IN HER REARVIEW MIRROR, LOOKS AHEAD AND SMILES.

 -----------------------

IN THOMASINA’S OFFICE, THOMASINA IS SITTING AT HER DESK, WHILE DANA SITS ACROSS FROM HER.

DANA: You said that? How does Cass know?
THOMASINA: This is privileged right?
DANA: Of course it is.
THOMASINA: The only person I told was Russ Matthews.
DANA: Are you sure nobody else heard you?
THOMASINA: No. It was only Russ and me in my office.
DANA: The door wasn’t open or ajar or….
THOMASINA: I don’t know.
DANA: Maybe I’ll get Russ to tell me.
DANA: If Charlie decides to sue the hospital, the board is going to come after you, and I won’t lie to you… we’re gonna have a fight on our hands.

 ----------------------

AT CASS’S OFFICE, CHARLIE WALKS IN.

CASS: Hey. Welcome back. Twice in one day. To what do I owe the pleasure my dear?
CHARLIE: I wish this was a feel good visit.
CASS: Whoa. So you’ve… made a decision.
CHARLIE: I heard your conversation with Thomasina. She didn’t seem the least bit sorry for what she did.
CASS: Are you telling me to….?
CHARLIE: File the lawsuit.
CASS: Honey are you absolutely sure?
CHARLIE: Yes.
CASS: I’ll put it through.
CHARLIE: Thanks dad.
CASS: Anything for my girl.

-------------------------------

IN THE CAR, IRIS AND VIVIEN ARE RIDING IN THE BACKSEAT.

IRIS: I had no idea that she was sick.
VIVIEN: Maybe they didn’t want to worry you.
IRIS: I hadn’t met her until a few months ago.
VIVIEN: Why did it take so long?
IRIS: I was looking for someone else. Anyway, I came across her and she told me we were sisters.
VIVIEN: So Mac was her father, too?
IRIS: I was adopted.
VIVIEN: You and Alexandra have the same father.
IRIS: Bingo. Brandon Spaulding.
VIVIEN: Wow you must have a whole family down there in Springfield. Brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews.
IRIS: As a result of knowing that I’m Brandon Spaulding’s daughter, I have two sisters with the same name.
VIVIEN: So you have two sisters named Paulina?
IRIS: Noooo. Amanda.
VIVIEN: Amanda Cory and Amanda Spaulding. Interesting.
IRIS: Alexandra told me that our brother Alan died on a park bench. I have another sister Vicky. My nephew Phillip once tried to kidnap all of his children. My other nephew Alan-Michael is always feeling left out. Then there’s my great nieces Lizzie and Emma, and my great nephews Zach, James, and Nick.
VIVIEN: Are they cute?
IRIS: You’re the beholder.
VIVIEN: What are you talking about?
IRIS: You ever heard of the saying? Beauty…
VIVIEN: Beauty’s only skin deep?
IRIS: Never mind.

IRIS TURNS AND LOOKS OUT THE CAR WINDOW.

--------------------------------

OUTSIDE ON THE SIDE OF A ROAD, SHARLENE STANDS NEXT TO HER CAR AS FRANKIE BRINGS A GAS CAN.

Frankie Frame

FRANKIE:  This should help.

FRANKIE OPENS THE GAS CAP AND PUTS THE GAS CAN HOSE IN IT.

SHARLENE:  Thank you for coming.  I didn’t want to call John.  He would’ve freaked out.
FRANKIE:  And you think I’m not?  What the hell were you thinking trying to tail Brianna?
SHARLENE:  I have to find something on her.  She’s bound to make a mistake.
FRANKIE:  It could cost you your life if YOU make a mistake.
SHARLENE:  I think she siphoned the gas from my car.
FRANKIE:  Listen this should be enough for you to get to the nearest gas station.
SHARLENE:  Aren’t you gonna ask me if I found anything?
FRANKIE:  Oh my God you didn’t break into her apartment did you?
SHARLENE:  No of course not, but I did hear something.
FRANKIE:  You heard her lock the door.
SHARLENE:  Not exactly but I did hear her answer the phone.
FRANKIE:  That’s not unusual.
SHARLENE:  Maybe not, but what was a bit weird was when she answered the phone, she said her name was Ellen.

-------------------------

AT THE CLUB, ANTONIO AND DEVIN CONTINUE TO TALK.

DEVIN:  Does your mom have any enemies that you know of?
ANTONIO:  My mom’s not perfect but I can’t think of anyone who would want to kill her except for King Lear.
DEVIN:  I don’t know T.  I just don’t think it was him.  Someone went through the trouble of making your mother suffer by locking her in a freezer.
ANTONIO:  Someone who hates her.
DEVIN:  Whoever locked your mother in that freezer, they have a personal vendetta against her.

-------------------------

AT THE HOSPITAL, MAGGIE IS IN HER ROOM, LYING IN THE BED UNCONSCIOUS.

ANTONIO (v.o.):  There’s not much the police can do until she wakes up.

MAGGIE STARTS TO WIGGLE HER FINGERS ON HER RIGHT HAND AND OPENS HER EYES.
Maggie Winthrop

FREEZE FRAME ON MAGGIE’S RIGHT HAND.  SLOW FADE OUT.  END OF EPISODE 322
