ANTONIO: Well you didn’t want anyone to see you, did you? You’re welcome.
MAGGIE: I’m grateful but those scrubs are heavier than they look. It was hard to breathe.
ANTONIO: Well you COULD be a popsicle.
MAGGIE: You got a point there. I’d rather be under a pile of hospital scrubs than half naked in a freezer.
ANTONIO: Well I have to tell you that I agree with your decision.
MAGGIE (sighs): Right. This is getting a bit exhausting to have to keep this up.
ANTONIO: So give me your phone.

DANTE: We brought her in but we couldn’t hold her.
TONI: She wouldn’t give up any information about who was running the Satin Avenue website?
DANTE: No, then she got a lawyer and got out. Truth is we had nothing that we could nail her with.
TONI: She’s covered her tracks too well.
DANTE: But she had to have slipped up somewhere. We gotta find it.
TONI: I do need to tell you something.
DANTE: Go ahead.
TONI: I called…I called for some help.
DANTE: We might need it. It’s getting harder and harder to find this kingpin.
TONI: Or queenpin.
DANTE: No Toni, for some reason I don’t think she’s the queenpin. She’s taking orders from someone else.
TONI: Do you think she’s taking them directly from whoever is running that website?
DANTE: Very possible. We might need some federal help in busting this thing.
TONI: Well I’m one step ahead of you.
DANTE: So is the D.E.A. coming?
TONI: They sent an agent. When I called, they said they were waiting for it. They know a lot about this case.
TONI GETS A
PHONE CALL.
TONI: Burrell…Okay we’ll be right there.
DANTE: Who was that?
TONI: That was the hospital. Maggie Winthrop woke up.
DANTE: Is she ready to give a statement?
TONI: Let’s hope so.
TONI: She wouldn’t give up any information about who was running the Satin Avenue website?

BACK TO THE PRESENT, TAKES A DEEP BREATH, AND CASS AND FRANKIE WALK UP TO HIM.
FRANKIE: John.
Thank God. We’ve been looking for
Sharlene all evening.
JOHN: I just got here.
CASS: We’re afraid she’s done something.
JOHN: What would she have done?
FRANKIE: You know how she’s been tailing Brianna.
CASS: Brianna’s dangerous.
JOHN: Sharlene’s been determined not to let history repeat itself.
SUDDENLY THE
THREE SEE HEADLIGHTS THAT ARE TURNED OFF. SHORTLY AFTER, SHARLENE WALKS UP TO THEM. FRANKIE RUNS UP AND HUGS HER.
FRANKIE: Thank God you’re okay. We’ve been worried sick about you! Where have you been?

HOSPITAL, A MAN WALKS UP TO THOMASINA.
MAN: Are you Dr. Thomasina Mason?
THOMASINA: Yes I am.
THE MAN SHOWS
AN IDENTIFICATION CARD.
MAN: I’m Agent Dalton Chapin from the D.E.A.
THOMASINA: Hello Agent Chapin.
DALTON: My superiors told me to see you about Gregory Hudson.
THOMASINA: Does the Bay City Police know you’re here?
DALTON: We haven’t had a chance to meet yet.
TONI WALKS UP
TO THEM.
TONI: Hi Dr. Mason.
THOMASINA: Toni.
TONI: I’m sure Agent Chapin was on his way to the station to tell us that he was working in Bay City.
DALTON: I’m sorry, you must be Toni Burrell.
TONI: I’m the Commissioner of BCPD, but I’m sure you knew that.
THOMASINA: Are you here to question Gregory?
TONI: Yes.
JOHN: I just got here.
CASS: We’re afraid she’s done something.
JOHN: What would she have done?

DANTE: My officer can take your official statement. Are you ready?
MAGGIE: I think I am.
DANTE: If you’re not up to it then we can come back.
MAGGIE: No, this can’t wait one more minute. That bitch needs to be dealt with.
DANTE: Are you talking about the person who did this to you?
MAGGIE: She kidnapped me twice, spiked my iced coffee with synthetic opioids, locked me in the hospital freezer and left me to die.
DANTE: Do you know her name?
MAGGIE: Oh I know her name. She used to work here. Brianna Jameson.
DANTE: Are you absolutely sure that she was your assailant?
MAGGIE: I don’t know what else to tell you. She has been trying to get rid of me for months because I disapproved of her relationship with Matt.
MAGGIE: She needs to be locked up!
DANTE: That’s what we intend to do. She shouldn’t be roaming the streets.
CASS: Did you get any of Frankie’s messages?
SHARLENE: I haven’t looked at my phone.
JOHN: Thanks Cass, Frankie. I’d like to talk to my wife alone.
CASS: Of course.
FRANKIE: Sure. I’m so glad you’re okay.
SHARLENE: I’m gonna…go inside.
JOHN: Let me talk to her.
CASS: John’s right. He’ll be able to get through to her.
JOHN: I’ll keep you posted.

FRANKIE: What happened?
CASS: I got a text from Maggie. We need to go to the hospital.

SHOCKED AS HE SEES DALTON, TONI, AND THOMASINA.
TONI: Dante.
Hi. This is Agent Dalton
Chapin. Agent Chapin this is my Chief of
Detectives Dante Carlino.
DALTON EXTENDS
HIS RIGHT HAND.
DALTON: Nice to meet you Detective.
DANTE: Same here. Dr. Mason can you get Brianna Jameson’s address for me please?
THOMASINA: Sure.

TONI: Uh am I missing something here?
DANTE: Officer Hobbs is by the elevators. Maggie gave her official statement. She named Brianna as her attacker on three different occasions. We’re gonna go pick her up.
DALTON: What happened the last time you picked her up?
DANTE: We didn’t have enough to hold her.
DALTON: Hope you have your ducks in a row this time.
TONI PICKS UP
ON THE TENSION BUILDING BETWEEN DANTE AND DALTON.
TONI: Dante let’s go outside for a minute.

TONI: Not a good start between you two. Is there something I need to know?

CASS: I’m glad you called and told us. Every time we came to see you we were told there was no change in your condition.
MAGGIE: Well I’m here now.
FRANKIE: Charlie’s going to be thrilled.
MAGGIE: Cass can you…call my mother and tell her?
CASS: Of course I can. I’ll call Charlie, too. Be right back.
MAGGIE: It was Brianna.
FRANKIE: What? Why?
MAGGIE: I remembered that she kidnapped me the night of Carl’s party.
FRANKIE: It was Christy Carson. She and Brianna were working together.
MAGGIE: Christy? You mean that awful woman who tried to poison my dad?
FRANKIE: Yes.
MAGGIE: Rafael was using my phone.
FRANKIE: No Maggie. YOU were the one texting. You woke up long before today didn’t you?
TONI: You go ahead and pick her up. I’ll call to get a warrant to search her place. I’m sure we’ll find something in there.
DANTE: Thanks.
DANTE: Thank you.
TONI: You’ll have a warrant within an hour. Go get her.
THOMASINA: Sounds serious. Brianna must be in trouble.
TONI: Thanks for your cooperation.

SHARLENE PUTS HER PURSE ON THE COUCH AND LOOKS STRAIGHT AHEAD TOWARD THE
KITCHEN.
JOHN: I’m glad you’re alright.
SHARLENE: Why wouldn’t I be?
JOHN: I dunno.
SHARLENE: You must think I’m so weak that I allowed Brianna to do something to me. Well I promise you, she didn’t.
JOHN: Obviously. Listen I…there’s something I have to…
SHARLENE TURNS
AROUND TO FACE JOHN.
