Matt Cory
Brianna Jameson

MATT:  Oh my.  Just what I needed.
BRIANNA:  You’re tellin’ me?
MATT:  This week has been busy.
BRIANNA:  I can certainly relate to that.  The hospital’s been bustling lately with flu season.   People are rushing in to get their flu shots.
MATT:  We’ve been looking to hire someone for an important position at the company.  It’s been tough to find the talent.
BRIANNA:  Bay City’s a small town.
MATT:  We set up an interview with someone.  He looks like he’s a good candidate.
BRIANNA:  Really?  Who is it?
MATT:  I can’t divulge that information.
BRIANNA:  Why not?  You don’t trust me?
MATT:  I can’t tell you company secrets.
BRIANNA:  Well it’s not like I’m gonna go running and telling the competition who you’re planning to hire.
MATT:  Look just trust me on this one okay.  I mean, you can’t tell me about the patients at the hospital right?
BRIANNA:  Well my patients are protected by HIPAA laws.  What’s your excuse?
MATT:  You know all this talk about work is getting me all riled up.
BRIANNA:  In a good way I hope.
MATT (smiling):  Yeah.

MATT LEANS OVER AND KISSES BRIANNA PASSIONATELY, AND THE TWO BEGIN TO HAVE SEX AGAIN.

AT THE HOSPITAL’S SIXTH FLOOR WAITING AREA, CHARLIE WALKS IN WITH A COFFEE CUP.  SHE APPROACHES KIRKLAND, WHO IS SITTING ON A BROWN LEATHER COUCH.
Charlie Winthrop Harrison

Kirkland Harrison

CHARLIE:  Here you go.
KIRKLAND:  Thank you babe.  I thought I asked you to stay home and rest.
CHARLIE:  Well I came because you could use some support.
KIRKLAND:  You know what?  You’re right.  You always know what I need.
CHARLIE:  Don’t you forget it.  Any news on Bridget?
KIRKLAND:  No we’re still waiting.
CHARLIE:  Where’s everybody?
KIRKLAND:  Not sure.  She wasn’t here when I arrived.
CHARLIE:  I told my parents.
KIRKLAND:  About the pregnancy.
CHARLIE:  Yes.  They couldn’t be happier.
KIRKLAND:  Guess when my mom gets back and I’ll tell her and my dad.
CHARLIE:  A new beginning for all of us huh?
KIRKLAND:  Yes.  The beginning of our baby’s life, and his or her bickering grandparents.
CHARLIE:  Oh my.  I didn’t even think of that.
KIRKLAND:  Let’s cross that bridge later.
CHARLIE:  Yeah, yeah good idea.

CHARLIE LEANS INTO KIRKLAND, WHO PUTS HIS LEFT ARM AROUND CHARLIE’S LEFT SHOULDER.

---------------

MEANWHILE, OUTSIDE IN FRONT OF CHRISTY’S SUITE, CASS AND FRANKIE APPROACH THE DOOR.  FRANKIE BANGS ON IT.

Frankie Frame

Cass Winthrop

FRANKIE:  Christy!  Open the door!  We have to talk!
CASS THEN BANGS ON IT.
CASS:  Open the damned door Christy!

CASS CONTINUES TO BANG ON THE DOOR WHEN A PERSON DRESSED IN A BLACK SUIT, TIE, PANTS, WHITE SHIRT AND SHOES APPROACHES THEM.

PERSON:  So it’s you.
FRANKIE:  Who are you?
PERSON:  I’m the building manager and people are complaining of all the noise you’re making.
CASS:  You don’t understand.
FRANKIE:  It’s important we speak to Christy.
PERSON:  Ms. Carson?
CASS:  Christy Carson yes.
PERSON:  Well uh she’s not here.
FRANKIE:  Did you see her leave?
CASS:  Did she mention anything about where she was going?
PERSON:  I usually don’t concern myself with what my guests do outside of this building.
FRANKIE:  This really is a matter of life and death.  We have to speak to her.  If you know of her whereabouts please tell us so we can talk to her.
PERSON:  Well I’m afraid I can’t do that, especially after they check out.
CASS:  What?
PERSON:  Yes sir.  Ms. Carson checked out about an hour ago.
CASS:  Where was she headed?
PERSON:  She took her suitcases, got into a car and left.
FRANKIE:  Suitcases?  Car?  Oh my God.
CASS:  Where could she have gone?
FRANKIE:  She doesn’t have any friends in this town, so my only guess…is that she left Bay City.

-------------
Felicia Gallant Blake
IN CHRISTY’S SUITE, THERE’S HALF FULL BOTTLE OF VODKA, FLURAZEPAM PILLS SPILLED ON A BROWN WOODEN TABLE, AND FELICIA LYING ON THE FLOOR UNCONSCIOUS AFTER CHRISTY FORCED FELICIA TO TAKE PILLS AND DRINK VODKA AT GUNPOINT.

PART 2
CHARLIE’S HEAD IS ON KIRKLAND’S LEFT SHOULDER AS THEY AWAIT BRIDGET’S PROGNOSIS

KIRKLAND:  I can see it now though.  Your parents arguing with my parents on what’s best for our baby.
CHARLIE:  I bet they’re gonna act like we’re not even there.  Like we don’t even get a say in what goes on in our child’s life.
KIRKLAND:  My mom and dad are gonna be arguing by themselves.
CHARLIE:  They may collaborate against my parents.
KIRKLAND:  Or…they could actually?
CHARLIE:  Wait a second, you think that they’re gonna be…civil…and understanding?
KIRKLAND:  Could be.  Maybe we’re just thinking the worst for no reason.
CHARLIE:  Oh come on.  We have plenty of reason.
KIRKLAND:  I mean, maybe they’ll stay in their lanes and let us take care of our child.
CHARLIE:  Yes our son will be well taken care of.
KIRKLAND:  Umm our daughter.
CHARLIE:  Oh so you’re hoping it’s a girl.
KIRKLAND:  Of course.
CHARLIE:  And if it was a girl what would you name her?
KIRKLAND:  Oh I haven’t really given too much thought to that yet, but I will.
CHARLIE:  I’m sure you’ve come up with a couple of names by now.
KIRKLAND:  I’ve only known for a few hours that I’m gonna be a father.
CHARLIE:  Well since I found out I…I’ve been thinking of some names.
KIRKLAND:  Okay give me one.
CHARLIE:  Henry.
KIRKLAND:  Henry?
CHARLIE:  Yeah.  After Henry Ordway.
KIRKLAND:  Naaaaah.
CHARLIE:  Why not?
KIRKLAND:  Don’t you think that’s a little…old?
CHARLIE:  Oh come on It was my granddad’s name.
KIRKLAND:  I mean how would you like it if I named our daughter after her grandmother.
CHARLIE:  Donna certainly would love it.
KIRKLAND:  No…
CHARLIE:  Oh absolutely not.  We are so not naming her Justine.  Not even as a middle name.
KIRKLAND:  Well if I think about it, I may tend to agree with you after everything she did.
CHARLIE:  Can we agree til after we find out the baby’s gender to start thinking of names.

KIRKLAND PURSES HIS LIPS, THEN SMILES.

KIRKLAND:  Okay.  Fair enough.

------

BRIANNA:  Wow.  Round two was better than round one.
MATT:  You probably should get me riled up more often.
BRIANNA:  Oh no Mr. Cory.  I can’t have you all work and no play.
MATT:  This boy will never be dull as long as you’re around.
BRIANNA:  Hmmm you act as if our being together is temporary or something.
MATT:  That’s not what I meant my dear.  I mean, we don’t know how life is gonna unfold.
BRIANNA:  None of us does, but I would hope we would be planning a future together.
MATT:  Even if people are against it.
BRIANNA:  Well your mom seems really nice and is well entrenched in the community.
MATT:  She has many ties here.
BRIANNA:  I mean you’ve got your whole family here.
MATT:  I do.  Not that I really care what other people think, but not everybody’s on board with our relationship.
BRIANNA:  Well who…who wouldn’t be?
MATT:  John and Sharlene.
BRIANNA:  Dr. Hudson and his wife?  What made you mention them?
MATT:  Their accusations.  I mean it’s the most off the wall stuff.

BRIANNA LOOKS UP AT THE CEILING NOT FACING MATT.

BRIANNA:  I really don’t think you should be paying it that much attention.
MATT:  I immediately dismissed it.  That couldn’t possibly be true.
BRIANNA:  Of course it isn’t.  I…wow.
MATT:  They started asking questions about where you were from.
BRIANNA:  What did you tell them?
MATT:  I told them you were from Philadelphia.

BRIANNA LIES ON HER BACK AND LOOKS UP AT THE CEILING AGAIN.

BRIANNA:  You…told them that?
MATT:  I mean so what.  It doesn’t mean anything.

BRIANNA TURNS BACK TO FACE MATT AND SMILES.

BRIANNA:  No…no not at all.

---------------------

IN A CAR, CASS IS DRIVING WHILE FRANKIE IS IN THE PASSENGER’S SEAT.

FRANKIE:  This is frustrating.
CASS:  We’re so close to cracking this whole mystery.
FRANKIE:  And Christy skips town.
CASS:  Maybe Eric knows where she is.
FRANKIE:  Come on Cass if he knew do you think he would even tell us?
CASS:  Well he didn’t have the best relationship with her.  He might say something that could help us.
FRANKIE:  I don’t think Eric’s gonna turn on his own mother.
CASS:  You never know.

CASS GETS A CALL ON HIS CAR’S BLUETOOTH AND HE ANSWERS.
Mitch Blake

CASS:  Hey Mitch what’s up?
MITCH (through the speakers):  Hey Cass, I was wondering if you had talked to Felicia.
CASS:  No I haven’t.  Why?  Is everything alright?
MITCH:  She went to visit Devin in the hospital and I haven’t heard from her since.
FRANKIE:  Oh.  Is he okay?
MITCH:  I dunno.
CASS:  I’m sure you called her right?
MITCH:  And she’s not answering her phone.  I’m getting a little worried.

CASS AND FRANKIE LOOK AT EACH OTHER.

CASS:  Well we haven’t…talked to her at all.  Maybe her phone died or something.
MITCH:  Will you call me if you talk to her?
CASS:  Yeah of course we will.
MITCH:  Thanks.

CASS DISCONNECTS THE CALL.

FRANKIE:  Oh Cass I don’t have a good feeling about this.
CASS:  Neither do I.
FRANKIE:  Do you think something happened to her?
CASS:  I have no clue.
FRANKIE:  Could Christy have?  If Christy took all her things and left town then she…Cass we gotta go back to the suites.
CASS:  You think Christy did something to hurt Felicia?

FRANKIE HAS A FLASHBACK
(EPISODE 264)

CHRISTY:  I have changed.  I’m not that same person that…
FRANKIE:  That let me take the fall for you killing Douglas?  The same person that poisoned Cass?  The same person who forced Cass to give you a sperm sample so you could get pregnant with his baby?  You’re still obsessed with him, just like you were twenty five years ago.
CHRISTY:  That’s not true.  I wanted to be a mother.  From the beginning this time.  Whoever collided with me that night..is responsible for taking that away from me.  Cass is the least of my concerns.  I was on my way out of Bay City.
FRANKIE:  So then why are you still here?
CHRISTY:  I have a right to find out who hit me on Route 17.
FRANKIE:  Listen I’m...I’m sorry for your loss.  I do know what that’s like to miscarry.  It’s a pain you never quite get rid of.
CHRISTY:  I have a right to find out who killed my baby, and when I do…I’m gonna make them pay.

FRANKIE FLASHES BACK TO THE PRESENT

FRANKIE:  Oh my God.
CASS:  What?
FRANKIE:  Turn the car around.
CASS:  But…
FRANKIE:  Turn around!  Felicia’s in danger.  I think Christy did something to her.

FREEZE FRAME ON FRANKIE…SLOW FADE OUT…END OF 301

1 comment:

  1. Frankie put it all together. WOW, that was a great ending.

A strong, balanced episode. I enjoyed Kirkland and Charlie talking over their baby, and seeing the nervousness and excitement that comes with it. It really came through to me, so that was captured very well.

The tension as Frankie and Cass try to sort out where Christy is, and Brianna riding Matt like a horse were both great. I almost guarantee there's gonna be a Benson/Cory baby on the way. YIKES! And Brianna realizing that Matt inadvertently gave John and Sharlene another piece of the puzzle to her identity. She is probably screaming inside.

That ending though, as Frankie realizes what Christy has done was great. I was surprised Frankie didn't have a psychic spell and saw flashes of Felicia passed out. But it was a great ending, not gonna lie. WONDERFUL episode yet again!
