INTRODUCING KENDRICK SAMPSON AS BRYANT KRAMER

PART 1
Dana Kramer

Bradley O' Neill

IN A CAR, DANA KRAMER AND BRADLEY O’NEILL ARE RIDING IN
A LIMOUSINE.

DANA:  Guess we’re gonna to Bryant’s graduation in style huh?
BRADLEY:  I wouldn’t miss it for the world.
DANA:  Of course not.  I’m just...not sure what comes next.
BRADLEY:  The only thing I can tell you...is to brace yourself.

DANA SIGHS.

DANA:  I reeeeally don’t wanna hear that.
BRADLEY:  Listen, Bryant is old enough to make his own
decisions.  Did you think we were gonna be able to shield him forever?
DANA:  No but...still...I wonder how this is all gonna turn out.
Once he finds out that he’s Mac Cory’s grandson,
all bets are off and...it could even be worse when he
finds out I kept it from him.
BRADLEY:  You do realize that you’re gonna have to cross
that bridge at some point.
DANA:  I know.  I don’t want him to hate me.
He’s really all I’ve got you know?  I don’t want him to get
caught up in that war between Iris and Rachel.
Mac’s estate really belongs to Bryant. Have you seen Frankie yet?
BRADLEY:  No.
DANA:  You still haven’t seen her yet?  Bay City isn’t that big.
I’m surprised you haven’t run into her yet.
BRADLEY:  It’s not time yet, and I hate it.  I know she
would have wanted to be here for Bryant today.

CASS AND FRANKIE WALK INTO A HOUSE.
THEY WALK BY THE STAIRS AND THE COUCH.
Cass Winthrop

Frankie Frame

FRANKIE:  Nothing’s changed since we were here last.
CASS:  Everything is in the same exact place it was
when we were here last.
FRANKIE:  When you had to stop me from beating
the crap out of Taylor?
CASS:  Yeah. I don’t think her mind was even
here at that time.
FRANKIE:  They might have had to lock me up in
here after I thought she killed my aunt.
CASS: Lucky her.

A WORKER WALKS OUT FROM THE BACK.

WORKER:  Hi may I help you?
FRANKIE:  Hi we’re looking for our mother?
WORKER:  Who?
CASS:  Taylor Benson.
FRANKIE:  We miss her.
CASS:  She’s our long lost mom and...we just wanted to see her.
FRANKIE:  We found out that this is the last place she was.
WORKER:  Okay well I...I’ll go look in the computer.

Dr. Maurice Bingham

AT THE HOSPITAL, MAURICE IS CONDUCTING
A THERAPY SESSION WITH MICHELE.
Michele McKinnon

MAURICE:  You seem happy.
MICHELE:  Well it’s...bittersweet.
MAURICE:  Was that your sister that I saw you with earlier?
MICHELE:  Yep...the one and only Bridget.
MAURICE:  You guys were arguing.
MICHELE:  That’s all we seem to do these days….fight.
MAURICE:  Why? What caused it?
MICHELE:  I don’t know.  All I said to her was that I
wanted us to be sisters again...to stop the fighting,
but she...she won’t accept my attempts to make amends.
MAURICE:  All you can do is reach out.
You can’t make her reciprocate.
MICHELE:  I know.
MAURICE:  Outside of that, you’re gonna have
to let her...come to you.  I have to say that’s...big of
you to reach out like you did. Shows that you’ve
forgiven her for everything she did to you.
MICHELE:  I’m working on it.  This is why I’m
reaching out to her.  Maybe she’s got something on her mind.

MEANWHILE, BRIDGET IS IN AN EXAM ROOM
WHEN DR DAVIDSON WALKS IN AND SHUTS THE DOOR.
Bridget McKinnon

BRIDGET:  Dr. Davidson.  You come to give me
a clean bill of health?
DR. DAVIDSON:  I have...some questions to ask you.
BRIDGET:  Go ahead.
DR. DAVIDSON:  Have you been...experiencing any...
pelvic pain or discomfort?
BRIDGET:  No.
DR. DAVIDSON:  Any burning sensation during urination?
BRIDGET:  No. Why? What are you talking about?
DR. DAVIDSON:  Your blood work came back.
It shows that you have chlamydia.
BRIDGET:  That’s...that’s impossible.
There’s gotta be some mistake!  Run the tests again!
DR. DAVIDSON:  We ran them three times.
They all came back with the same result.
BRIDGET:  How could that have happened?
I’ve only been with one guy.
DR. DAVIDSON:  Did you use protection?
BRIDGET:  Of course we did!  We are always responsible!
DR. DAVIDSON:  Are you sure that he’s not
sleeping with other girls?
BRIDGET:  No he’s not.  He would never cheat on me.
DR. DAVIDSON:  Maybe you and your boyfriend
need to have a talk.
BRIDGET:  This is totally crazy!  I can’t...I can’t have this.
DR. DAVIDSON:  It’s...not the end of the world.
I’ve prescribed Amoxicillin. Follow the instructions
on the bottle and you should be rid of it in two weeks.
You can pick it up at the pharmacy.
BRIDGET:  This is...really heavy.
DR. DAVIDSON:  Maybe you should...take some
time and process this.

BRIDGET’S EYES WELL UP WITH TEARS.

BRIDGET:  How could he do this to me?

CAMERA PAN ON BRIDGET...SLOW FADE TO THEME SONG.

PART 2

DANA AND BRADLEY STAND IN FRONT OF THEIR
FOLDING CHAIRS AS NEW GRADUATES WALK
BACK AND FORTH DRESSED IN BLUE CAPS AND GOWNS.

DANA:  Well he did it.
BRADLEY:  He’s a college graduate now.
DANA:  You and Frankie raised him to be.
BRADLEY:  No we couldn’t have done it all by
ourselves.  I’m glad she was there to help me, even
if she didn’t remember that she was Frankie Frame.

DANA SIGHS.

DANA:  Everything happens for a reason.
BRADLEY:  You’re afraid aren’t you?
DANA:  Bryant’s not that little boy I delivered.
He’s a grown man, and now a college graduate,
but he has no idea what he’s in for.
BRADLEY:  Come on Dana.  Give him credit.
I actually think he’s gonna handle things well.
DANA:  He has no idea who Iris is.  She’s gonna
try to use him to get back at Rachel.

SOMEONE GETS DANA’S ATTENTION AND SHE
WAVES THAT PERSON OVER TO HER AND
BRADLEY.  A YOUNG BLACK MAN APPROACHES
THEM DRESSED IN A BLUE CAP AND GOWN.

DANA:  Hey baby.
BRADLEY:  The one and only Bryant Kramer.

BRYANT KISSES DANA ON HER LEFT CHEEK
AND HUGS HER AND BRADLEY.
Bryant Kramer

DANA:  You made it.  Congratuations.
BRADLEY:  You did it man.  College graduate.
BRYANT:  B.A. in Business Administration.
DANA:  I’m so proud of you.
BRADLEY:  We both are.
BRYANT:  Couldn’t have done without you.
Where’s Frankie? I thought for sure she’d be here.

DANA AND BRADLEY LOOK AT EACH OTHER,
AND FROM A SHORT DISTANCE, IRIS
Iris Spaulding
APPEARS
AND SEES DANA, BRADLEY, AND BRYANT.

---------------

AT THE MENTAL HOSPITAL, CASS AND FRANKIE
AWAIT ANSWERS FROM THE HOSPITAL WORKER.

FRANKIE:  My God this place gives me a chill.
CASS:  Why?
FRANKIE:  I mean, the last time we were here,
Taylor acted as though she had no recollection of
what she had done.
CASS:  She’d lost touch with reality.
FRANKIE:  We thought that she killed Aunt Sharlene,
and she didn’t seem to care.
CASS:  She was obsessed with John, and when she
couldn’t have him she...slipped into madness.
Sounds a lot like Christy.
FRANKIE:  Don’t bring what woman up please.
CASS:  Okay.

THE YOUNG FEMALE WORKER WALKS UP TO THEM.

FRANKIE:  Hey uh...did you find anything?
WORKER:  Who are you?  And what do you want?
FRANKIE:  We wanna find where my mother is?  Taylor Benson?
CASS:  Please it’s important.
WORKER:  You’re not Taylor’s daughter.
FRANKIE:  What...of course I am.  I’m Brianna Jameson.
WORKER:  Oh now I know you’re lying.
CASS:  What?
WORKER:  That’s not what I saw in the computer.
FRANKIE:  I’m Taylor’s daughter.
WORKER:  Her daughter’s name isn’t Brianna, and
Taylor didn’t have a son.

FRANKIE AND CASS ARE PUZZLED.

WORKER:  I think you two should leave...before I call security.

FRANKIE:  Okay sorry.

CASS AND FRANKIE TURN AROUND AND
ARE ESCORTED OUT BY THE FEMALE WORKER.

------

AT THE CENTER, MICHELE IS AT A TABLE
AND ELIZABETH WALKS UP TO HER AND
SITS ACROSS FROM HER.
Elizabeth Hutchins

ELIZABETH:  What’s up? You’re all smiles.
MICHELE:  Because today’s the day.
ELIZABETH:  Of what?
MICHELE:  I just came from the hospital.
I had a session with Dr. Bingham, and I saw Bridget.
ELIZABETH:  You did? What happened?’
MICHELE:  She said she had an appointment.
I bet it was to see her OB.
ELIZABETH:  And that makes you smile?
MICHELE:  Yes it does.  You’ll be thanking me later.
Bridget and Cory will be broken up by the end of the week.

AT DONNA’S SUITE, BRIDGET IS SITTING ON
THE COUCH CRYING.  DONNA COMES DOWNSTAIRS,
NOTICES BRIDGET, AND RUNS TO SIT NEXT TO HER.
Donna Love

DONNA:  Bridget honey.  Why are you crying?

BRIDGET WIPES THE TEARS FROM HER EYES
AND TURNS HER BACK TO DONNA.

BRIDGET:  I thought you weren’t home.
DONNA:  I was upstairs taking a nap.  What’s going on with you?
BRIDGET:  It’s...it’s nothing.
DONNA:  Oh you’re not sitting here balling your eyes out for
no reason.  What happened? You had your follow up
with Dr. Davidson didn’t you?
Oh my God Bridget are you pregnant?
BRIDGET:  No. Not even close.

BRIDGET TURNS AND FACES DONNA.

DONNA:  So then what is it?
BRIDGET:  It can’t be true.
DONNA:  What can’t be true?
BRIDGET:  Look I...I can’t talk about it.

BRIDGET GETS UP AND DROPS HER PURSE.
ALL OF THE CONTENTS SPILL OUT. DONNA
PICKS UP SOMETHING AND READS IT.

DONNA:  Amoxicillin?  This is an antibiotic.  Are you sick?
I’ll have some specially made soup delivered.
BRIDGET:  I don’t need any soup.  I don’t get why
you’re making such a big deal out of it.

BRIDGET TRIES TO WALK AWAY BUT DONNA
RUNS IN FRONT OF HER.

DONNA:  Bridget talk to me!  What is
going with you?
BRIDGET:  I have...I have chlamydia!

DONNA PUTS HER RIGHT HAND ON
HER MOUTH IN SHOCK.

FREEZE FRAME ON BRIDGET...
SLOW FADE OUT...END OF EPISODE 279

1 comment:

  1. Another great episode.

I loved the lingering tension Dana was feeling as she and Bradley went to Bryant’s graduation. Bradley trying to reason with her, but Dana knows Iris, and sure enough, there’s Iris, waiting to strike.

The hospital workers aren’t giving an inch to Cass and Frankie. They’re gonna have to try something else. But even then, there’s a clue in what the staff told them, even if it isn’t clear to them right now.

The Bridget vs Michele feud carries on. Bridget is so distraught over her (fake) diagnosis, and Michele is in her glory, gloating even to Dr Bingham in a way. I can’t wait for Bridget to confront Cory about this. It’s gonna be a confusing, messy argument.

This was a strong episode as always. Great work!
