---Brianna tried to run down Sharlene in the hospital parking garage
with her car, but Lindsay came in and saved Sharlene at the last minute
---Devin came with Cass to see Lindsay at the hospital,
and after an awkward exchange,
Gregory walked in and saw Devin with Lindsay.

AT THE WINTHROP’S, CASS IS SITTING ON THE COUCH
TALKING ON HIS CELL PHONE IN
THE LIVING ROOM WHEN FRANKIE WALKS IN FROM THE BACK.

CASS: Stace she’s gonna be okay....no you
don’t have to come to Bay City...she’s out of danger. Apparently…
FRANKIE: Who’s that? Stacey?
CASS PUTS HIS HAND ON THE MICROPHONE OF THE CELL AND
LEANS BACK A LITTLE BIT.
CASS: Yeah...
CASS REMOVES HIS HAND OFF THE MICROPHONE AND
CONTINUES TO TALK TO STACEY.
FRANKIE: Hey Stacey!
CASS: Frankie says hi. But Linds is gonna be fine...
.of course I’m looking after her...okay sis I love you.
CASS PRESSES END CALL, PUTS HIS PHONE IN HIS POCKET.
FRANKIE: Did she go into a panic?
CASS: You know she did.
FRANKIE: Lindsay’s her baby I understand it.
CASS: Thank God she’s gonna be okay.

IN LINDSAY’S ROOM, GREGORY, DEVIN,
AND LINDSAY CONVENE WHILE
LINDSAY LIES IN HER HOSPITAL BED.
GREGORY WALKS PAST DEVIN,
UP TO LINDSAY, AND KISSES HER.

GREGORY: Hey baby how you feelin?
LINDSAY: Like I got...run over by a car?
GREGORY: I’m so glad you’re okay. Did my dad look at you?
LINDSAY: Yeah he said I had a concussion.
GREGORY: Sounds like you’ll be just fine.
I’m gonna take good care of you...just like you took care of me.
DEVIN: Alright well I’m...I’m gonna leave.
GREGORY: Hey Devin wait...lemme talk to you for a minute.
GREGORY LEANS IN AND KISSES LINDSAY.
GREGORY: I’ll be right back babe.

OUTSIDE OF LINDSAY’S ROOM...GREGORY TALKS TO DEVIN.
GREGORY: So what was that all about?
DEVIN: I came to see Lindsay. I was there when John called Cass.
GREGORY: So you just...had to come and see my girl.
DEVIN: Look man it’s not…
GREGORY: Yeah...it is.
I see the way you look at her.
How nervous you act around her.
DEVIN: So what are you trying to say Gregory?
You think I got the hots for Lindsay?
GREGORY: I dunno. Do you?

MEANWHILE, BRIANNA WALKS INTO LINDSAY’S
ROOM ROLLING A BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR.

BRIANNA: Lindsay hi.
LINDSAY: Hi Brianna.
BRIANNA: I’m here to check your vitals
before they discharge you.
BRIANNA WRAPS THE CUFF AROUND
LINDSAY’S RIGHT ARM, TIGHTENS IT
AND HOOKS IT UP TO THE MACHINE.
BRIANNA: I heard about what happened in
the garage. Terrible.
LINDSAY: Yeah someone tried to run over
Sharlene with their car.
BRIANNA: Wow I mean...I hope you called
the police and told them what happened,
especially if you saw the person who did it.
CAMERA PAN ON BRIANNA...
SLOW FADE TO THEME SONG.

PART 2
DEVIN: I don’t even know her that well.
GREGORY: That didn’t stop you that
day in the Center. You know when you...
saw her with my cousin Charlie.
DEVIN: That was weeks ago.
GREGORY: And your feelings have
been...growing ever since then.
DEVIN: Is there a point that you need
to make cuz I gotta get outta here?
GREGORY: Yeah...leave..
DEVIN: Good.
DEVIN STARTS TO WALK AWAY.
GREGORY: And leave Lindsay alone.
DEVIN STOPS, TURNS AND WALKS SLOWLY
TOWARD GREGORY UNTIL HE’S
FACE TO FACE WITH HIM.
DEVIN: Or what?
GREGORY: She’s my girl. She’s got plenty
of family to support her, and she’s got me.
She doesn’t need your friendship.
DEVIN: You got some serious issues dude.
She’s a great girl. She’s nice, pretty, and
she’s got a fascinating smile.
GREGORY: You stay away from her you hear me?
DEVIN: You look nervous...all that sweat on
your forehead. Why? What are you afraid of?
You think she’s gonna leave you for me?
I thought you were kinda cool; that
Lindsay was in good hands.
Maybe I’m wrong. She deserves better
than a jealous boyfriend.
GREGORY: Get the hell outta here!
DEVIN: I’ll leave...for now...but don’t get too comfortable...
cuz I’m not goin’ anywhere.
DEVIN WALKS AWAY.

CASS: If Lindsay hadn’t gotten there in time,
it might be Sharlene lying in a hospital
right now, if not dead.
FRANKIE: I don’t have a good feeling
about this Cass. Somebody tampered
with the brakes in her car and now this.
Who’s trying to kill my aunt?
CASS: I haven’t a clue I mean...
Sharlene doesn’t have an enemy in the world.
FRANKIE: The only person that I can
think of that hates her that much is Taylor Benson.
CASS: Wasn’t she in the loony bin?
FRANKIE: Maybe she escaped.
CASS: She’s up there in age.
I don’t really see her playing
mechanic and cutting a brake line.
FRANKIE: Could she have hired someone to do it?
CASS: A possibility. Brianna maybe?
FRANKIE: Maggie asked me to dig
into her background but I refused.
CASS: You think she was on to something?
FRANKIE: At the time I didn’t but...
maybe we should take a look.
CASS: Where would we start?
FRANKIE: The last place we saw Taylor.

BRIANNA REACHES INTO HER
RIGHT POCKET OF HER LAB COAT,
AND SHE STARTS TO PULL OUT
THE ARSENIC FILLED NEEDLE…
LINDSAY: That’s just terrible I mean...
Sharlene is so sweet and nice.
Who would want to try and run her over?
BRIANNA LETS THE NEEDLE SLIDE BACK
INTO HER LEFT LAB COAT POCKET AND
SHE REMOVES THE CUFF OFF OF LINDSAY’S ARM.
BRIANNA: One fifteen over seventy five.
Blood pressure is good.
BRIANNA GETS A THERMOMETER
OFF THE CART.
BRIANNA: Say ahh.
SHE PUTS THE THERMOMETER
UNDER LINDSAY’S TONGUE.
BRIANNA: Yeah it’s weird.
I met her once in the Center when
I was on a date with Matt. She seemed really nice.
SHE TAKES THE THERMOMETER
OUT OF LINDSAY’S MOUTH.
BRIANNA: Ninety eight point five.
But you should consider making
a statement to the police.
LINDSAY: Well I’ll just tell them
what happened but...I couldn’t see who was driving.
I’m just glad I was able to save Sharlene.
BRIANNA: Yeah...we’re all grateful.
Well you’re...my last patient for the day.
Your vitals are good and I’ll give these to John.
GREGORY WALKS IN.
GREGORY: Hey.
BRIANNA: Hi...Gregory I was just...
gonna give her vitals to the doctor. She should be discharged today.
GREGORY: Sounds good. I can’t wait to take my girl home.
LINDSAY: Me neither. I can get some real food.
GREGORY: You mean you don’t like unseasoned hospital food?
AS GREGORY WALKS UP TO
LINDSAY, BRIANNA SMILES AND WALKS OUT.
BRIANNA (in her mind): She didn’t see me driving that car.
Next time I promise you mom,
I’m gonna finish Sharlene Hudson.

Close call there. I love the tension in the air. The mundane details of the conversation heightened the tension in the air. You did a fabulous job of building that false sense of normalcy there.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy how tight the episode was constructed to be. Everything focused on Lindsay’s accident, but it touches so many other stories. Very good work there.
I like the natural tension between Gregory and Devin (maybe because I can so easily see it being Chad and Ben fighting over Abby, LOL). It was easy to see and hear them in my mind as though it was a scene from TV. Excellent work there.
Cass and Frankie are going to start looking into Brianna. They’re not gonna like what they find. I can’t wait to see Brianna’s world fall apart all around her. This has been building and building and I’m on the edge of my seat. Brianna realizes Lindsay doesn’t know who ran her over, and now Lindsay is safe. Whew!
