--The merger of BAYCorP is complete, and Iris was ousted from new company

--Devin Hutchins met Cass Winthrop’s niece Lindsay

for the first time in Bay City Center before Carl’s party, as Lindsay was

shopping with Charlie and seemed smitten by her.

--Brianna/Ellen’s mother, Taylor Benson, asked Brianna/Ellen to finish

Sharlene Hudson” on her deathbed, and she has vowed to fulfill Taylor’s

dying wish

PART 1

AT THE CORYS, CASS IS IN THE LIVING ROOM AS HE CLOSES HIS

BRIEFCASE THAT IS ON THE TABLE AND

CLAMPS THE LOCKS SHUT ON IT.

 PAULINA, AMANDA, AND DEVIN ARE WITH HIM.  

EACH OF THEM HOLD THEIR CHAMPAGNE GLASSES AS

RACHEL WALKS IN WITH A BOTTLE.

CASS:  Your merger was approved.

RACHEL:  Wow that was fast.  I’d say it’s time for a celebration.

PAULINA:  You got that right.  We finally got her out.

RACHEL WALKS AROUND AND POURS EVERYONE SOME

CHAMPAGNE AS MATT WALKS IN.

RACHEL:  Where were you?

MATT:  I just got off the phone with Brianna.  Hey what’s with the bubbly?

AMANDA:  We’re celebrating BAYCorP.

DEVIN:  And the look on Iris’s face when I read the by-law.

PAULINA: Absolutely priceless.

EVERYONE HAS A GLASS FULL OF CHAMPAGNE.

RACHEL:  I propose a toast...to a successful business.

AMANDA:  And not having to watch our backs.

MATT:  I’ll drink to that.

EVERYBODY RAISES THEIR GLASSES AND SIPS.

CASS:  I gotta get home to Frankie, but I suppose I could...stay for a sip.

RACHEL:  Yes Cass, thank you.

PAULINA:  I gotta go soon, too.  My son and I are meeting for dinner.

RACHEL:  Oh how is he?

PAULINA:  I really haven’t seen him since he became detective at the BCPD.

PAULINA PICKS UP HER COAT AND WALKS TOWARD THE DOOR.

RACHEL:  Tell Dante I said hi.

PAULINA:  Definitely.  See ya.

MATT:  I’d love to stay but I got a…

PAULINA:  Ooooh you got a date?

MATT (smiling):  Yeah.  She’s really special.

AMANDA:  Looks like you might get it right this time.  Who’s the girl?

MATT:  Brianna.

JOHN IS SITTING IN HIS OFFICE

John

SCROLLING THROUGH HIS COMPUTER WHEN

HE SUDDENLY HAS A FLASHBACK.

(EPISODE 228 AFTER MARLEY GAVE BIRTH)

AT THE HOSPITAL

John and Brianna go into the staff locker room.

John:  You’re a real pro in there.

Brianna:  I’ve delivered babies before.  It’s always a joy to see the

families happy.  The mother having a baby;

the father right there with her.  Must be nice.

John:  I wasn’t there when Gregory was born.  Sharlene gave birth to our son in a shed.

Brianna:  Wow.  

John:  Taylor Benson delivered him actually after she...never mind.

Brianna:  No tell me.  What did Taylor Benson do?  

John:  I...don’t really wanna get into that.

JOHN FLASHES BACK TO THE PRESENT.

JOHN:  Why did she ask me about Taylor?  

JOHN TAKES OUT HIS CELL PHONE,

SCROLLS TO SHARLENE’S CONTACT INFORMATION,

AND PRESSES THE GREEN PHONE BUTTON.

SHARLENE (v.o.):  This is Sharlene leave a message.

JOHN:  Hey uh...we gotta talk soon.  I think...just..

.I’ll talk to you later.

IN THE HOSPITAL GARAGE, LINDSAY

WALKS OUT OF THE STAIRWELL, AND

SEES BRIANNA’S CAR (SHE DOES NOT SEE BRIANNA)

SPEEDING TOWARD SHARLENE.

LINDSAY:  Sharleeeeene!   Look ouuuuuuut!

SHARLENE LOOKS UP AT LINDSAY,

WHO RUNS TOWARD SHARLENE.  

SHARLENE TURNS AROUND,

AND SEES HEADLIGHTS SPEEDING

TOWARD HER!  LINDSAY GETS THERE

AND PUSHES SHARLENE OUT OF

THE WAY.  THE CAR SIDESWIPES

LINDSAY AND SHARLENE.  

SHARLENE LOSES HER PHONE

AS SHE AND LINDSAY FALL TO

THE GROUND.  THE CAR SPEEDS

OFF INTO THE DISTANCE AS SHARLENE GETS UP.  

SHE SEES LINDSAY LYING ON THE GROUND

AND SHE TENDS TO HER.  

SHARLENE:  Lindsay?  Lindsay?

SHARLENE TAKES OUT HER CELL

PHONE AND DIALS 9-1-1 AS LINDSAY DOES NOT RESPOND.

SHARLENE:  Hi this is Sharlene Hudson

we’re in the hospital garage.  

Someone’s been hurt please hurry.

AT THE CORYS, DEVIN WALKS INTO

THE FOYER WITH RACHEL.

DEVIN:  Rachel you pulled off quite a coup.

 I heard everything that Iris did to your family.

RACHEL:  I couldn’t have done it without your help.

DEVIN:  You know I...my father...

and I didn’t have much of a relationship when he was alive.

RACHEL:  He was trying to protect you.

DEVIN:  I know.  I’m glad that he had you to love him.

RACHEL:  Wasn’t easy ya know?

DEVIN:  I know what Carl did to your family.  

I know what he did to my mother.

RACHEL:  I wish you would have seen him.

 He...he was very evil.

 He did a lot of horrible things to Mac.  

Matthew, Amanda and all of my friends

didn’t want us to get married.  

Iris went so far as to shoot him.  I saw a different

side of him.  

He changed.  He gave me your brother and sister.

DEVIN:  Despite everything he’s done, I still miss him.

 I know that he couldn’t be there for me because

my grandfather Lucas owed a lot of people.  

I hope that I can do him proud.

RACHEL SMILES LOVINGLY.

RACHEL:  You are.  You, Cory and

Elizabeth are all reflections of Carl,

and I love seeing it.  I’d also like to see more of you.

DEVIN:  That’s really sweet.  I see why

my dad fell in love with you.  I just got so much going on.

 You know my club’s gonna open soon.

RACHEL:  Oh?

CASS WALKS INTO THE FOYER CARRYING HIS BRIEFCASE.

CASS:  Hey I’m...about to leave.

RACHEL:  Thank you so much.

CASS GETS A CALL ON HIS CELL PHONE.

CASS:  Winthrop?  What?  Okay I’ll be right there.

RACHEL:  What happened?

CASS:  My niece is in the hospital.  I’m gonna call Jake.

RACHEL:  Lindsay?  Is she alright?

DEVIN LOOKS AT CASS WITH CONCERN.

DEVIN:  Yeah what’s going on?

CASS:  I’m gonna go see.

DEVIN:  I’ll come with you.

MEANWHILE, BACK IN THE LIVING ROOM,

AMANDA IS THERE WITH MATT LOOKING

AT A PICTURE OF MAC.

AMANDA:  You know, daddy would have been so proud.

MATT:  Yeah he is, although I don’t think he

would have agreed with Carl and Devin Lucas

being on the board.

AMANDA:  Well it helped us to get Iris out

of the company.

MATT:  I guess it was meant to be after

everything she had done to Mac.

AMANDA:  You know...despite everything

that Iris had done he...he had a special

place in his heart for her.  He loved her...unconditionally.  

MATT:  Are you getting merger’s remorse sis?

AMANDA:  No not at all.

AMANDA’S CELL PHONE VIBRATES.  

SHE LOOKS AT THE CALLER ID

QUIZZICALLY AND PRESSES THE

GREEN PHONE BUTTON TO ANSWER.

AMANDA:  Sam?  Hi.  What?  What happened?

 I’ll..I’m coming tonight.

AMANDA PRESSES END CALL AS RACHEL

WALKS BACK INTO THE LIVING ROOM.

MATT:  You alright?

RACHEL:  Amanda what’s wrong?

AMANDA:  That was Sam.  Something..

.something’s happened to Alli.  I gotta go

to California tonight.

AT THE HOSPITAL, JOHN SHINES A

MAG LIGHT IN LINDSAY’S EYES AS

SHE SITS UP IN THE BED.

 SHARLENE, CASS AND FRANKIE ARE BEHIND JOHN.

LINDSAY:  I’m fine.

JOHN:  Yeah you...you’re fine except for

one small problem.

SHARLENE:  Thank God.  

LINDSAY:  What’s that?

JOHN:  A concussion, so we’re keeping you.

CASS:  He’s right.  We need to make sure you’re okay.

FRANKIE:  Yeah Stacey would have our heads

on a platter if we didn’t look after her baby.

LINDSAY:  Oh that’s really not that serious.  

Just gimme a few headache pills and I’ll be on my way.

JOHN:  No you know we can’t do that.  We’re

keeping you for observation.

LINDSAY:  What about work?

JOHN (chuckling):  I know the boss okay.  

I’ll have you excused.

SHARLENE WALKS UP TO THE BED.

SHARLENE:  Thank you Lindsay.  You saved my life.

LINDSAY:  I just...it’s nothing.  Don’t worry about it.  

Did you call Gregory?

JOHN:  He’s on his way.  Hey Sharlene can we...

can I talk to you outside?  

SHARLENE:  Yeah yeah sure.

JOHN AND SHARLENE OPEN THE DOOR AND

DEVIN IS THERE.  

JOHN:  Hi Devin.

SHARLENE:  Devin.  How are you?

DEVIN:  Good I just...came to see Lindsay.

LINDSAY STRAIGHTENS HERSELF UP IN THE

BED AS DEVIN MAKES EYE CONTACT WITH LINDSAY.

LINDSAY:  Hi.

DEVIN:  Uh...I was there when...Cass got the call I…

LINDSAY:  No it’s okay.  Glad you’re here.

DEVIN:  He said that you were in the hospital and

I came with him.

LINDSAY:  Oh.

DEVIN:  We...just merged...the companies.

LINDSAY:  Oh you mean KBAY and Cory Productions.

 I read about that.

NEITHER SAY ANYTHING FOR ABOUT FIVE

SECONDS AS THERE IS AN AWKWARD SILENCE.

DEVIN:  Yeah...um...I’m glad you’re okay.

LINDSAY:  Thank you.

WITH CASS AND FRANKIE.

SHARLENE:  I’m a bit shaken.  Thank God Lindsay

CASS:  So you think somebody’s after you?

FRANKIE:  The same person who may have cut

your brakes.

JOHN:  We’re exploring all possibilities.  

Hey I...wanna talk to Sharlene alone for a minute.

CASS:  Sure uh...Frankie and I can go home.

FRANKIE WALKS UP TO SHARLENE.

FRANKIE:  You call me if you need anything okay?  I love you.

SHARLENE:  Love you, too.

JOHN SEES CASS AND FRANKIE OUT, SHUTS

THE DOOR, AND TURNS TO SHARLENE AND

HUGS HER TIGHT.

JOHN:  I’m so glad you’re okay.

SHARLENE:  Someone tried to run me down in the garage.

JOHN:  Whoever’s trying to kill you struck again.   

I was thinking...after you left my office earlier I thought

back to a conversation

that I had.  It made me wonder.

SHARLENE:  With whom?

JOHN:  Brianna...she asked me about Taylor.  

SHARLENE:  Brianna?  Wait a minute that’s the

woman we saw with Matt at the Center.  She seemed

really nice.

JOHN:  I was telling her how Taylor lured you to the shed.

 Then I quickly changed the subject.  She didn’t push

though.

SHARLENE:  Has she asked about Taylor since then?

JOHN:  No.

SHARLENE:  Do you think there’s some kind of...connection

between Brianna and Taylor?  You think she...might be

the one who’s trying to kill me?

JOHN:  I don’t wanna go that far.  That would be kind

of a stretch.  I mean she’s...one of our best nurses.  

If it wasn’t for her quick thinking, Tyrone and

Marley’s baby would have been kidnapped.  Everybody raves

about her work.

SHARLENE:  So you’ve said but...why would she be asking

you about Taylor?   What does Brianna want to know about her?  

MEANWHILE, IN ANOTHER EXAM ROOM,

BRIANNA IS SIPHONING A SUBSTANCE

LABELED ‘ARSENIC’ FROM A VIAL INTO

A SYRINGE, AND THEN SHE ADMIRES HER

NEEDLE AS SHE SQUIRTS LIQUID IN

THE AIR OUT OF IT.

BRIANNA:  If Lindsay saw me driving well...she’ll get a needle full of...death.
