DANA: Well is having lunch with my sister a crime?
JOY: No I just...haven’t heard a peep from you since you got me out of jail...aannnd the charges dropped.
DANA: Just doing my job I guess. So what’s going on with you?
JOY: I’ve just been laying low.
DANA: Yeah sure you have. You got that glow on your face.
JOY BLUSHES AND LOOKS DOWN.
DANA: Umm hmmm does it have anything to do with Steven Frame?

AT THE HOSPITAL, STEVEN AND BRIDGET ARE IN HIS OFFICE. STEVEN IS SITTING BEHIND HIS DESK WHILE BRIDGET SITS ON THE NEARBY COUCH.
STEVEN: What’s up with my kid sister?
BRIDGET: I had an appointment with Dr. Davidson.
STEVEN: Oh okay. The woman exam.
BRIDGET: Yep. I’m not a little girl anymore.
STEVEN: I know. You and Michele are all grown up now.
MICHELE WALKS IN.

AT PAULINA’S, JAKE SETS HIS FEET ON THE GROUND AND LOOKS UP AT PAULINA AFTER SHE’S TOLD HIM WHAT GRANT DID.
JAKE: Wow. I mean, I know Grant is capable of a lot of things but...he blackmailed Jack into leaving town. I...I can actually see him doing that. How did he even get proof that you guys sold Remy on the black market?
PAULINA: And Grant promised to destroy his entire life if he came back to Bay City, so he decided to stay in Oakdale with Carly.
JAKE: Man I’m...I’m sorry.
PAULINA: Now you see why I wanna wring all the fluid out of Grant’s neck.
JAKE: That...that may not be the way to go.
PAULINA: I can’t believe that he thinks that by getting Jack out of the way that he has a chance with me.
JAKE: Evil has no logic sometimes.
PAULINA: Grant’s gonna be sorry.
JAKE: I wouldn't advise going directly after him.
PAULINA: Then what do you suggest Jake?
JAKE: You gotta take his power from him. You gotta somehow get your hands on that evidence.
PAULINA: I’m gonna demand he hand it to me.
JAKE: And he’s just gonna give it right over.
JAKE GETS A TEXT FROM STEVEN.
JAKE: I gotta get to the hospital.
PAULINA: Oh...is everything alright?
JAKE: It’s about the girls. Don’t do anything else about Grant until we talk again.
PAULINA: Hm.

PAULINA: Promise.
AFTER JAKE LEAVES, PAULINA UNCROSSES HER FINGERS, AND SMILES.

JOY: Maybe...maybe it does.
DANA: Hmmm it absolutely does. That’s good that you’re finding some happiness.
JOY: Yeah but…
DANA: His mother.
JOY: Right. So...what about you? What have you been doing since I saw you last?
DANA HAS A FLASHBACK TO WHEN SHE AND BRADLEY O’ NEILL WERE IN HER OFFICE.

BRADLEY LOOKS AROUND DANA’S OFFICE.
BRADLEY: Nice. You move quick don’t you?
DANA: I had to establish quarters here.
BRADLEY: I see.
DANA: I bought this office from Jake and Frankie.
BRADLEY: Frankie?
DANA: I’m...assuming that’s why you’re in Bay City.
BRADLEY: For Frankie? Not exactly.
DANA: Wait...don’t tell me it…
BRADLEY: They told me that I’m terminal. I only have a few weeks to live.
DANA WALKS UP TO HIM AND PUTS HER RIGHT HAND ON BRADLEY’S LEFT CHEEK.
DANA: I’m...I’m so sorry.
BRADLEY: I dunno I...we’ve been fighting this battle for years. I came back to...let Frankie know that I wasn’t going to contest any divorce. I mean I...won’t even be around much longer. She’ll be free to be with Cass.
DANA: You...don’t seem to happy about that.
BRADLEY: Of course I’m not Dana. I still love Frankie...very much. We shared a whole life together. She stuck by me through this whole leukemia battle. We raised your son.
DANA: And I’m eternally grateful for that. You don’t know how much.
DANA TURNS THE OPPOSITE WAY.
DANA: But I can’t...I can’t hide him much longer. He really doesn’t know what he’s sitting on.
BRADLEY: You haven’t told him yet?
DANA: No. I have to get things in order first. I have to prepare him for what’s to come, because he really has no idea what’s about to happen. His whole life is gonna change.
BRADLEY: Well I’m sure that you’ll do whatever you can.
DANA: Don’t get me wrong, he’s gonna get what’s rightfully his. He deserves a seat at that table, and I’m gonna make sure he gets what belongs to him.
DANA FLASHES BACK TO THE PRESENT.
DANA: I’ve...been taking care of business.
JOY: Umm hmm. What kind of business?
DANA: I can’t really say right now. In due time, you’ll see. I’m sure you’re gonna have your hands full dealing with Vicky Hudson.
JOY: You ain’t never lied. She is five handfuls. I think she’s still holding my affair with Tyrone against me.
DANA: She’s protecting...her son...in her mind.
JOY: When is she gonna realize that I love Steven? I would never hurt him.

PAULINA SLAPS HIM ACROSS HIS RIGHT CHEEK.
PAULINA: You blackmailing bastard! How dare you!
GRANT: Maybe you should come in and we...we can talk about this.
PAULINA WALKS IN AND GRANT SHUTS THE DOOR BEHIND THEM.
GRANT: I take it you...you saw the footage.
PAULINA: You think this is gonna make me come running to you! You’re dumber than you look!
GRANT: No Paulina, not only are you dumb, but you’re also blind.
PAULINA: What the hell are you talking about?
GRANT: You can’t see a good thing when it’s right in front of you, can you?
PAULINA: See what? Wait...you think that you are the one for me? Ha!
GRANT: Yes I am! I always have been. We loved each other once Paulina.
PAULINA: Loved you! I felt sorry for you!
GRANT: Are you sure that’s what it was? Pity? No I think you felt more than that. You didn’t want me for my money because you inherited part of Mac’s fortune. No...no you loved me Paulina, and I think deep down you still do.
PAULINA: I loved Jake, and Joe, and Jack. I never loved you! And after what you just pulled, I never will. They’re all good men.
GRANT: Jack was married. He had you and Carly on strings. Leading you both on. You call that a good man? Jack is where he belongs...and so are you. Right now!
PAULINA: You’re hilarious!
GRANT: I’ve always loved you. It’s always been you. Not Victoria; not Lorna; not Amanda, or Cynthia. It’s you.
GRANT TAKES OUT A BOX FROM HIS POCKET, AND OPENS IT.
GRANT: I want you to marry me Paulina.
PAULINA: You have really lost your mind!
PAULINA WALKS TO THE DOOR TO LEAVE, AND WHAT GRANT SAYS NEXT STOPS HER.
GRANT: Marry me Paulina...or the whole world will know...that your beloved Jack is a baby seller! Do you want to be the one who destroys his entire family?
PAULINA TURNS AROUND AND IS STUNNED BY GRANT’S CONTINUED BLACKMAIL.

ReplyDeleteWHat an excellent cliffhanger and a strong episode.
The twins will be counselled by a new doctor. Looks like you got big plans for him. I'm excited.
I also loved the lingering tension between Vicky and Jake. Their relationship is as complicated as ever.
Dana has a secret but you know she won't just come right out with it. Bradley may be around longer than we think. At least that's the impression I'm getting. His cries of impending doom seem premature.
And again, that scene between Paulina and Grant was electric. Grant is obsessed, and has Paulina's number. She should've listened to Jake. Now she's trapped. I can't wait to see how this plays out.
An excellent episode once again.
WOW was not expecting that marriage propsal or blackmail. Never saw that coming but Jake is after Grant now too and Jake is gonna know soemthing is up.
