PART 1

BAY CITY CENTER...
ERIC APPROACHES CHRISTY…

ERIC:  I heard you telling Cass and Felicia the news.  Congratulations.
CHRISTY:  You were the next person I was going to tell.  You’re gonna be a big brother...and we’re gonna be a family.

Jason Shane Scott as Eric Stenbeck

Robin Mattson as Christy Carson
ERIC GIVES A HALF SMILE…

ERIC:  That’s great.
CHRISTY:  Yes it is.
ERIC:  What about Cass?
CHRISTY:  We don’t need him.  We’ve got each other.   It’s us against the world.

CHRISTY PUTS HER RIGHT HAND GENTLY ON ERIC’S LEFT CHEEK

CHRISTY:  This is what I’ve always wanted you know.  You, me, and the baby to be a family.  A chance to be the mother that was taken away from me by Douglas and James.
ERIC:  I’m sure Frankie didn’t take the news too well.
CHRISTY:  No...no she didn’t, but I did what I had to do.  Guess we can...start making plans to leave this town with all these hypocrites.

CHRISTY LEAVES AND ERIC SENDS A TEXT TO KIRKLAND.  IT SAYS:  20 MINUTES.

ERIC:  No mom.  I’m not going anywhere.

P.I. FIRM

Alice Barrett Mitchell as Frankie Frame

Tom Eplin as Jake McKinnon
FRANKIE WALKS IN AND SEES JAKE…

FRANKIE:  What is it?  Your voicemail said it was important.
JAKE:  You’re not gonna believe this.
FRANKIE:  After what’s happened in the last couple of days anything’s possible.
JAKE:  Well...Dana Kramer stopped by.
FRANKIE:  Dana Kramer?  You mean the attorney?  Why would she stop here?  She needs us to help her?
JAKE:  In a way I guess.
FRANKIE:  Goodness knows we needs the business.
JAKE:  She wasn’t coming to us to do some investigative work.  She did some of her own before she came here...on our books.
FRANKIE:  We don’t cook the books.  I really don’t know what she was trying to find.
JAKE:  She knows that we’re sinking in overhead costs.  If we go out of business we could still be on the hook for rent because of the lease.
FRANKIE:  What are you trying to tell me?
JAKE:  She wants to buy us out and take over this office, and the lease.  I mean, the gall of her to even ask us to consider something like that.  I’m just telling you because you’re my business partner, but I know you’re not gonna go along with…
FRANKIE:  Jake...before you go any further.  I think we should think about it.
JAKE:  You’re kidding right?
FRANKIE:  No I’m definitely not joking.

CORY MANSION - Rachel walks downstairs in her white nightgown to the foyer.
Victoria Wyndham as Rachel Cory Hutchins

RACHEL:  Carrrrrl!

SHE THEN GOES THROUGH THE LIVING ROOM…

RACHEL:  Carl you weren’t in bed when I woke up.

SHE APPROACHES THE DOUBLE DOORS LEADING TO THE BACK, AND SHE PEEKS OUTSIDE.

RACHEL:  Carrrrrl!

SHE TURNS AROUND AND FACES THE LIVING ROOM.  SHE LOOKS AROUND AND IT ALL SEEMS TO HIT HER AGAIN.  SHE WALKS SLOWLY TOWARDS THE CENTER TABLE BEHIND THE COUCH AND PICKS UP A PORTRAIT OF HER AND CARL.  SHE THEN PRESSES IT AGAINST HER CHEST.  SHE LOOKS TO HER LEFT AND SEES FELICIA AND CASS.  NOBODY SAYS A WORD.  RACHEL LOOKS BACK AT HER PORTRAIT OF HER AND CARL, DROPS TO HER KNEES AND BREAKS DOWN CRYING.  FELICIA PUTS HER LEFT HAND ON CASS’S CHEST, AND HE GETS THE HINT AS FELICIA WALKS SLOWLY TOWARD RACHEL.  CASS STAYS WHERE HE IS AND WATCHES FELICIA APPROACH RACHEL.

RACHEL:  What am I gonna without Carl?  How am I gonna get through this?
FELICIA:  You’re gonna lean on the people who love you.

PART 2

ERIC’S BEDROOM...CLOTHES AND OPEN CONDOM WRAPPERS ARE ON THE FLOOR AS ERIC AND KIRKLAND LIE IN BED.  KIRKLAND STARES AT THE CEILING AND ERIC LIES NEXT TO HIM.

ERIC:  You look like you committed a crime.  I mean it couldn’t have been bad.  You seemed like you were enjoying it as much as I was.
KIRKLAND:  Enjoy this?  I hate this!

KIRKLAND GETS UP AND STARTS PUTTING HIS CLOTHES ON.

ERIC:  This is the second time.
KIRKLAND:  And the last time.

ERIC, WEARING ONLY BLACK SPEEDOS, CRAWLS ACROSS THE BED AS KIRKLAND PUTS ON HIS SHOES.  ERIC LEANS HIS HEAD NEAR KIRKLAND’S RIGHT EAR.

ERIC:  Are you sure that’s what you want?  Do you want this to be our last time together?
KIRKLAND:  You know your blackmail is only gonna get you so far.
ERIC:  Does everything have to be about that stupid recording?
KIRKLAND:  That’s all that this is about.  Protecting my marriage.
KIRKLAND, FULLY DRESSED, WALKS TOWARD THE DOOR AND LEAVES.

ERIC:  I’m not so sure about that.
Anthony Herrera as James Stenbeck
ERIC GETS A REMOTE CONTROL OUT OF HIS NIGHTSTAND DRAWER, AND TURNS ON THE TELEVISION...AND WATCHES A RECORDING OF HIM KISSING ON KIRKLAND’S CHEST.  ERIC LEANS BACK ON THE BED AND SMILES.  ERIC PLEASURE TURN TO HORROR AS SUDDENLY HIS SCREEN DISPLAYS “HI SON”.  ERIC SITS UP QUICKLY AND PAYS CLOSE ATTENTION TO WHAT’S ON THE SCREEN.  SUDDENLY JAMES STENBECK APPEARS VIA VIDEO CHAT.

ERIC:  No.  This isn’t real.  My father’s dead.
JAMES:  No son.  As you can see, I’m very much alive.

ERIC SHAKES HIS HEAD IN DISBELIEF.

ERIC:  Mom this is cruel!  Stop it!
JAMES:  Your mother has no idea this is happening, and you’re not gonna tell her anything about it.

----------

JAKE:  Now I can’t believe it.
FRANKIE:  Face it, we haven’t been doing well and we’re barely breaking even trying to keep this place afloat, and with everything that’s happened it might be a good idea to sell.
JAKE:  I thought you would put up more of a fight.
FRANKIE:  It makes sense Jake.  If Dana Kramer is willing to buy us out and take over the lease, then we wash our hands of it.  No more overhead costs, no more rent and utility bills.  Although it does make me wonder.
JAKE:  Wonder what?
FRANKIE:  Dana just got back to town right?
JAKE:  Yeah.
FRANKIE:  If she’s willing to buy us out and take over the lease then she’s...establishing roots here again.
JAKE:  I dunno.
FRANKIE:  Do you have a number I can call her at?  I’m...I’m gonna sell my fifty percent.

JAKE TAKES OUT HIS CELL PHONE AND MAKES A PHONE CALL.

JAKE:  Dana Kramer...Jake McKinnon.  I’m here with Frankie and...it’s a deal.
FRANKIE:  Was that her?
JAKE:  Voicemail.

JAKE HANGS UP AND SOMEONE KNOCKS ON THE DOOR…
Jensen Buchanan as Vicky Hudson

FRANKIE:  Vicky hi.
VICKY:  Frankie, Jake.   I...I was hoping I could talk to you.  It’s about the girls.
FRANKIE:  Oh um...I was just leaving.  I’m gonna catch up with Cass.  I’ll see you two later.
JAKE:  What’s going on?  Something with the twins?
VICKY:  Yes that’s...that’s just part of it.
JAKE:  What’s the other part?
VICKY:  You.  It’s time we had a talk.  It’s long overdue.
JAKE:  Vicky there’s nothing much for us to have a conversation about.
VICKY:  Oh but there’s is...so much we need to discuss.
JAKE:  Is it the girls?  You could have called or texted about them.  Is it about what happened at the Corys?
VICKY:  We need to help them get through this.
JAKE:  They’ll overcome it when you stop blaming Bridget for all of this.
VICKY:  My God you can’t see that she started all of this.  With everything she’s done!
JAKE:  What about what Michele’s done since she’s been back?  You refuse to see her culpability!  You refuse to see…

JAKE CATCHES HIMSELF BUT VICKY CONTINUES…

VICKY:  You’re not talking about Michele are you?  You’re talking about me.
JAKE:  Vicky I don’t wanna do this right now.
VICKY:  Don’t you think it’s needed?  Don’t you think we need to talk about it?
JAKE:  We got a divorce.  What else is there to discuss?
VICKY:  You think you’re the only one who had trust issues in this marriage?
JAKE:  Seriously?  What reason did I ever give you to not trust me?  I have been nothing but truthful and up front with you!  You lied about Lindsay!
VICKY:  And you lied about Shane!
JAKE:  Shane?  Shane Roberts?  What the hell has he got to do with this?  He’s dead!
VICKY:  And that’s what you wanted right?
JAKE:  How can you say something like that?
VICKY:  You put our lives in danger that night.  Shane and my uncle Martin died because of you!

------

RACHEL AND FELICIA SIT NEXT TO EACH OTHER AND CASS PASSES RACHEL A TISSUE AS FELICIA CONSOLES RACHEL.

RACHEL:  I’m so glad you two were here.  I know you were against Carl and me getting married, and with good reason after everything he had done.
FELICIA:  No honey it’s okay.  We’re here for you.  You’re not alone.
CASS:  Of course.  We understand.  I was devastated when I thought I lost Frankie.
RACHEL:  I wish I’d...been there for you.
CASS:  Rachel stop.  You have a right to cry.  You have a right to mourn.  You and Carl had Cory and Elizabeth.  You had a wonderful life together.
RACHEL:  What do I do now?  I feel...so lost.  I knew that...Carl didn’t have much time, and no matter how much I tried to prepare for what happened the other night, I never really expected what actually occurred.
FELICIA:  He died in your arms.  He left us in peace.  I don’t think he could have been any happier than he was at that moment.
CASS:  Felicia’s right.  You made Carl happy.  You made him a father.  He spent his last few weeks happy.
FELICIA:  This isn’t about what he’s done, it’s about how happy he was with you.
RACHEL:  Thank you both so much.  I’ve been blessed to have such good friends.
FELICIA:  We love you.
CASS:  We’re not gonna let you go through this by yourself.  You have us.

FELICIA HUGS RACHEL…

  1. What a great ep. I really enjoyed how simple u made the story surroinding jakes office and the lease and the utility bills. I could really identify with it. It. Was a nice set up.

Rachel looking for carl was also touching. That scene with her cass ans feefe was great. I feel bad for Rachel she is lost.

Wow Eric and Kirk had sex. Yummy. So far Eric has the upper hand. Yet james is back so i know there is no good in that. Was stunned to see eric and kirk in bed together.

At this point i think Christy is losing her mind.

A great episode and it was surprising through out. I didnt know where anything was going.

Oh yea vicky she seems pathetic to me at this point esp trying to argue with jake about the girls. She just wanted something to swe jake over. Get over vick like jake said u guys r divorced.

  3. Well, you know I was shocked by James' return. LOVED seeing Eric start to sweat after being so self-assured and smug this whole time. What does James have in store? GREAT stuff.

Jake and Frankie are selling to Dana. This is gonna get good. Dana has a plan for Bay City and it's so exciting to watch unfold. You're reshaping Bay City in such a unique way. I love every bit of it. Dana is a power-player and Frankie and Jake know it's time to pack it in.

Jake and Vicky at it again. Little does Vicky realize just how right he is about Michele. And bringing up Shane's death. This is gonna get SO intense so quickly. I can't wait to read more!

Rachel's strength is cracking. It's good that Cass and Felicia are there for her. I know she'll pull through this, but it's important she breaks down. The disbelief that Carl was really gone was an important part. Fantastic beat to play.

    Excellent episode!
