PART 1
AT THE MCKINNONS…
Michele walks downstairs and Michael is sitting on the couch.
Michele: Hey what are you doing?
Michael: I’m not leaving you here by yourself. Or at least until your mother gets home.
Michele: Grandpa I’m a big girl. I’m not gonna throw a huge party this late at night.
Michael: Well I’m not going anywhere.
Michele: Hmm let me guess why. You’re scared about what happened tonight.
Michael: Nooo not exactly.
Michele: Uh huh sure.
Michael: Honey everybody’s concerned. You and your sister had a knock down drag out tonight. Ever since you came back home you two have been fighting.
Michele: So observant.
Michael: I know you’re angry about what Bridget did before.Do you think maybe you could...talk to someone.
Michele: Oh my God I’m going back to bed.
Michael: Did you cut yourself in the hospital with those scissors?
Michael: Now why would I do something like that?
Michele: So you can turn everyone against Bridget?
Michele: Grandpa I think you’re just really tired and maybe you should go home and...lie next to grandma. Eww I don’t even wanna think of that.
Michael: You need to get some help before you hurt…
Michele: For the fiftieth time I’m not going to hurt Bridget. You should be talking to her. She slept with Cory to get back at me. She’s the one who needs help.

AT THE LOVE MANSION...
Bridget is lying on her bed looking up at the ceiling, then she turns over on her left side and smiles as she flashes back to her and Cory having sex. Then Donna knocks on the door and walks in. Bridget sits up on her bed.
Bridget: Ugh!
Donna: Well nice to see you, too.
Bridget: You totally killed the mood.
Donna: And just what mood could you be talking about?
Bridget: The same kinda mood you get in when you think about Grandpa Michael.
Donna: T.M.I.
Bridget: It’s late.
Donna: If you and Michele don’t stop fighting, it will definitely be too late after someone gets hurt.
Bridget rolls her eyes.
Bridget: I’m tired.
Donna: And so am I. You two need to see someone.
Bridget: You want us to talk to Steven?
Donna: No he’s your brother. You’re going to see another doctor.
Bridget: I’m not the crazy one here.
Donna: And Michele is?
Bridget: That’s right answer. You win!
Donna: I am not joking young lady and I don’t appreciate your nonchalant attitude. This is a very serious situation.
Bridget: Oh Grandma, I’m being very serious. Michele is totally crazy and she needs to be committed.
Donna: Well you flaunting the fact that you had sex with Cory didn’t help. Why did you do that?
Bridget: I’m going to the bathroom.
Donna: And I’ll be waiting right here when you get back. We’re not finished.
Bridget walks past Donna.
Donna: My goodness she’s just like her mother.

POLICE STATION
Vicky walks up to Dana and Toni. Toni is on her cell phone.
Toni: Is the suspect in her cell? Good.
Vicky: That bitch needs to stay locked up. She has done enough to this family.
Dana: Don’t call my sister that Vicky.
Vicky: She’s a homewrecker and a kidnapper.
Toni: We’re going to hold her for forty-eight hours.
Vicky: Good.
Dana: For what? You have no evidence to build a case against her.
Vicky: She tried to kidnap my nephew!
Dana: Because of your grandfather.
Toni: I will find something, and Joy will pay for what she’s done.
Vicky: If you need any help…
Toni: We got this. Thank you.
Toni walks away from them.
Vicky: Look, Dana, I know she’s your sister, but you need to face what she’s done.
Dana: You are still holding her affair with Tyrone against her. It happened a long time ago and you really need to get over it. Maybe you need to talk your psychiatrist son.
Vicky: Where is Steven?
----------------------------------------
MEANWHILE...Thomasina is visiting with Joy at her Joy’s cell.
Joy: What’s going on up there?
Thomasina: Your sister’s working to get you out of here.
Steven walks up within earshot unseen by Joy and Thomasina.
Joy: You gave her a copy of your medical record when you were poisoned.
Thomasina: Yes I did. You just gotta be patient.
Joy: I would never do something like this. I had to do what Reginald said or he was going to poison you.
Thomasina: We know honey, and we’re gonna convince Toni that you were under duress.
Steven: Thomasina?
Joy perks up a bit as she half widens her eyes at Steven’s appearance.
Thomasina: Steven.
Steven: May I...have a moment alone with Joy?
Thomasina looks back and forth once at Joy and Steven.
Thomasina: Sure. I’ll go upstairs and see how everything’s coming along.
Joy nervously holds onto the bars.
Joy: You...probably hate me don’t you? You’re probably thinking your mother is right about what she’s been telling you about me.
Steven: Joy…
Joy: And I would understand if you wanted nothing to do with me anymore.
Steven: Joy…
Joy: I was standoffish when we first met because of what Reginald was forcing me to do, but somewhere along the way I fell in love with you.
Steven: I love you, too.
Joy: And my feelings for you are real...wait...what did you say?
Steven walks up to the bars and clenches her hands.
Steven: I said I love you.
CAMERA PAN ON JOY...SLOW FADE TO THEME SONG.

PART 2
Michael: Everybody is worried about you and Bridget.
Michele: I don’t know why. I’m fine. She’s been jealous of me since we were born probably and everybody seems to be dancing around it.
Michael: I’m not talking about your sister. I’m talking about you. You’ve been hell bent on getting back at her since you came back to Bay City. Did Reginald do something to you?
Michele: No! Grandpa Reginald would never hurt me.
Michael: I think that...you could benefit a great deal if you got some help.
Michele: I gonna scream if I hear that again.
Michael: I never knew you until you came back. I wanna see the smart, beautiful, kind young lady that everyone tells me you are. Your anger has changed you, and I hate to see it eat you up like this.
---------------------------------------------
Bridget walks back into her bedroom...with Donna still waiting. They both just stand and look at each other.
Bridget: Come on grandma Donna can we just talk about this morning? I’m really tired.
Donna: I’m tired, too and it is morning, and I’m not leaving this room until you agree to get some counseling.
Bridget: Oh my God I can’t with you!
Donna: Bridget you’re being very disrespectful and I will not allow it! Now you and your sister fought like cats tonight. You’ve got cuts all over your face! What you and your sister are going through is affecting the entire family, and I can’t stand by and watch it anymore. I’m going to talk to your brother, and your parents and we can set up some counseling sessions for you and Michele.
Bridget: Okay okay okay set em up! Can I go to sleep now?
Donna: Good.
Donna walks to the door and right before Bridget can turn the lamp light off, then she turns around.
Donna: And the first thing you need to talk about is your attitude. Geez Louise.
------------------------------------------------
Steven and Joy kiss.
Joy: You...still feel the same even after what I did?
Steven: It didn’t make sense. I knew that someone had to have been putting you up to it. The woman I fell in love with would never have kidnapped a baby.
Joy: It means...it means so much that you still believe in me.
Steven: I feel much more than faith in you. I love you.
Joy: I love you.
------------------------------------------------
Thomasina walks up to Vicky and Dana.
Vicky: Thomasina have you seen my son? Don’t tell me he’s…
Thomasina: He’s with Joy.
Vicky: Oh no I can’t let that…
Thomasina: Vicky let them be alone.
Vicky: I can’t believe this. You were a family friend.
Thomasina: I raised Joy. Aunt Lily left her on my doorstep practically, and I took care of her. I did not raise her to be a kidnapper or to be someone’s mistress. She’s a good girl who made some mistakes, and your grandfather was trying to kill me.
Dana: Reginald is the real criminal here and you know it Vicky.
Toni walks up to them.
Dana: So?
Toni: The medical records check out. The poisoning and the antidote are made from exotic plants found that are only found in Tanquir.
Dana: A country in which Reginald is a citizen and would have access. So the poisoning story checks out; you have no evidence with which to charge my client. I think I know what comes next.
Toni makes a call on her cell phone.
Toni: Go get Joy Kramer. She’s free to go.
Vicky: Unbelievable. You mean to tell me she’s gonna get off scot free?
Dana: If you want to blame someone, Vicky, for the kidnapping. I suggest you book a flight to Tanquir and talk to your grandfather.
Toni: Tell your sister she better not leave town.
Dana: That won’t be a problem detective.
FREEZE FRAME ON DANA...SLOW FADE OUT...END OF 231
Very tight episode. Donna and micheal are trying to save their family. It looks like some help is on the way. But will counseling work? The dialog was great in this episode.
ReplyDeleteToni and her 'we got this' lmao.
Vicky got egg on her face. Joy is outta jail and free to be with steven who belives in her which in turn will drive vicky up the wall lol. I miss the cast pics. Good episode!!
This was great. Very tight, and it moved!
ReplyDeleteI loved the scenes of Michael and Donna taking each twin aside to discuss their fight and hopefully get each of them into counselling. Great juxtaposition, and you can really see the anger and where each sister is coming from. Fantastic stuff!
Vicky's not gonna be happy. I know she's strong-willed, but I hope her anger is shared equally with Reginald as well. Though, I sense Vicky knows that blaming Reginald is fruitless, since she can't exact revenge or right wrongs he's committed. She wants an outcome she can control, and Joy gives that to her. It's very real of her. Great writing there.
Again, love Joy, Thomasina and Dana. They are gonna add so much fire to this show. A masterstroke bringing them back on to support Joy.
Joy and Steven are still a thing, even after the kidnapping. Steven is convinced, but can he convince Vicky as well? I doubt it, but it's worth a shot. That is a complex family dynamic and I love its potential!
Excellent work yet again, Cary!
