OUTSIDE, IN THE CENTER, KC IS WALKING WITH A SMILE ON HER FACE WHEN KIRKLAND CATCHES UP WITH HER.

KIRKLAND: Hey cuz what’s up?
KC: Hey I was just gonna go meet Eric and tell him the good news.
KIRKLAND: Oh he must be leaving Bay City with his mother.
KC: Nooooo, not even close.
KIRKLAND: Oh I got it, Eric is taking a rocket ship to Mars. That would be great news.
KC: Well...you’re looking at the new PR intern at Bay City Medical Center.
KIRKLAND: Oh well congrats are in order huh? I’ll buy you a latte.
KC: Awww Kirkland you don’t have to do that, my generous cousin.
KIRKLAND: You got jokes right?
KC: Yeah.
THEY BOTH LAUGH AND PROCEED TO THE COFFEE SHOP.

INSIDE, ERIC IS WIPING DOWN A TABLE WHEN CHARLIE WALKS IN AND OBSERVES HIM. ERIC LOOKS UP AND NOTICES HER, AND CHARLIE WALKS UP TO HIM.

CHARLIE: Hi.
ERIC: Hey Charlie what’s goin on?
CHARLIE: Coming to get my usual. I’m...meeting Kirkland down here.
ERIC: Latte. I’ll get it for you...on the house.
CHARLIE: You don’t have to do that.
ERIC: No it’s not a problem. How’s everything?
CHARLIE: Well aside from not getting the hospital internship, everything’s just great.
ERIC: KC was applying for that, too.
CHARLIE: Oh...so she’s the one who got it.
ERIC: She did? She never told me.
CHARLIE: Well maybe she hasn’t had the chance?
KC AND KIRKLAND WALK IN AND SEE ERIC TALKING TO CHARLIE.

AT THE POLICE STATION TONI IS IN HER OFFICE WITH DANTE…

TONI: I know. I still can’t believe the DA went that way.
DANTE: I think the tire tracks may have killed the case.
TONI: The fact that they weren’t Felicia’s.
DANTE (shaking his head): She’s really gonna get off. I mean, why didn’t Christy wanna press charges?
TONI: I dunno.
ALLEN KNOCKS ON THE DOOR AND OPENS IT.

ALLEN: Hey Toni. Dante.
DANTE: Allen what’s up?
ALLEN: Toni I was hoping I could…talk to you for a minute?
DANTE: Umm I’ll go...call my mom and see what she’s up to.
ALLEN: She’s probably with Amanda.
TONI: Their meeting’s today?
ALLEN: Yeah.

RACHEL: This meeting is adjourned.
IRIS: The hell it is!
PAULINA: Take the L Iris. You’re out of the new company.
IRIS: I want to speak to Rachel, Matthew, Amanda, Paulina and Devin...alone. All the other board members can leave. We are not finished.
PAULINA: What would you possibly have to talk about?
IRIS: Oh I got a lot to say.
CAMERA PAN ON IRIS...SLOW FADE TO THEME SONG.

TONI: I thought...you’d be there. Why aren’t you there?
ALLEN: I dunno about that. There’s gonna be fireworks.
TONI: The fourth of July at Cory Productions, so why do you look like you just lost your best friend?
ALLEN: I betrayed Amanda.
TONI: What? How?
ALLEN: I looked at the meeting document while she was in the bathroom.
TONI: So Iris told you to steal company secrets huh?
ALLEN: Yeah, something like that.
TONI: Allen, that’s corporate espionage. That’s a crime. So did you tell Iris what you saw in the document?
ALLEN: No.
TONI: So then how is that betraying Amanda?
ALLEN: She caught me. Amanda left it on top of her briefcase, but I saw what they were planning to do. Iris isn’t gonna be happy about it.
TONI: Amanda should have been more careful. She knows you work for KBAY.
ALLEN: Well I...probably won’t be after this meeting.
TONI: Iris is gonna fire you?
ALLEN: There’s not gonna be a KBAY after the meeting.
TONI: Why did you do it? Did Iris promise you anything in exchange?
ALLEN: A big raise. And after I saw the text on KC’s phone.
TONI: Wait a minute...what text on KC’s phone?
ALLEN: Her first tuition payment is due.
TONI: Well she didn’t tell me about it either.
ALLEN: I had to do something to help her Toni.
TONI NODS HER HEAD.
ALLEN: I missed too much of her life already. I’m her father, and a father is supposed to take care of his child.
TONI: Look I...I understand. For what it’s worth she didn’t tell me either. And she just got this internship at the hospital. I’m not gonna let money stop her from getting an education. We can’t.

AT THE COFFEE SHOP, KC AND KIRKLAND SEE ERIC TALKING TO CHARLIE. KIRKLAND IS HORRIFIED AND KC LOOKS BACK AND FORTH AT KIRKLAND, THEN CHARLIE AND ERIC. KC WALKS OVER TO ERIC, AND KISSES HIM ON THE LIPS. KIRKLAND FOLLOWS HER TO THEM.
KC: Hey baby.
ERIC: Oh hey.
CHARLIE: I’m gonna go get those lattes.
KC: I came to tell you some great news.
ERIC: I heard. Congratulations on your new position!
ERIC KISSES KC ON HER LIPS.
ERIC: We gotta celebrate.
ERIC LOOKS AT KIRKLAND.
ERIC: Doesn’t look like you will be doing too much of that.
KC: Did Charlie tell you?
ERIC: Yeah she just did. I wish you would have told me first.
KC: It’s okay.
CHARLIE REJOINS THEM.
CHARLIE: Hey babe. You ready?
KIRKLAND LOOKS BACK AT ERIC AND KC.
KIRKLAND: Yeah let’s get outta here.
ERIC PUTS HIS ARMS AROUND KC’S WAIST.
KC: What’s up with my cousin?
ERIC: Maybe he’s...disappointed about Charlie not getting the internship.
KC: No I mean...before I even came over here he...looked like he’d seen a ghost.
ERIC: I dunno. I’ll be off in about two hours. We can celebrate then.
KC: Well my parents offered to take me out to dinner, so I definitely wasn’t going to turn that down.
KC TILTS HER HEAD DOWN, LOOKS BACK UP AT ERIC, AND SMILES.
KC: After that...we can have our own little party.
ERIC: I like the sound of that.
THEY KISS.

OUTSIDE THE COFFEE SHOP...
CHARLIE: So she got the internship. I...I just thought it would be a slam dunk for me…
KIRKLAND: I thought I told you to stay the hell away from Eric.
CHARLIE: What? Where is this coming from? Is this what you mean by protecting our marriage?
KIRKLAND: What are you talking about?
CHARLIE: I heard you the other night before we went to bed. You uttered the words ‘protecting my marriage.’ It has something to do with Eric doesn’t it?
KIRKLAND TAKES A FEW STEPS AWAY FROM HER AND CHARLIE FOLLOWS HIM.
KIRKLAND: When i see you talking to him it makes me wonder.
CHARLIE: You think he’s a threat to our marriage don’t you?

RACHEL: The vote has been passed. There’s nothing else to discuss.
IRIS: You think you’ve won Rachel! Think again.
AMANDA: Iris what is this all about?
IRIS: You all think you’re entitled to this company! I may be Brandon Spaulding’s biological daughter, but Mac Cory is my daddy! I am just as deserving to be a part as any of you think you are!
MATT: We haven’t forgotten what you did to Mac. You’re not gonna do that to us.
RACHEL: We won’t let you have the chance.
IRIS SLOWLY WALKS OVER TO DEVIN.

DEVIN STANDS UP AND FACES HER.
DEVIN: Did you really think I was gonna help you get this company? You tried to kill my father!
IRIS: And I served my time for that!
DEVIN: This was the perfect way to pay you back.
RACHEL: We all knew you would try to backdoor us somehow.
PAULINA: Typical you. It never fails.
DEVIN SITS BACK DOWN AS IRIS WALKS OVER TO PAULINA.
IRIS: Really? You think you’re entitled to this?
PAULINA: Mac was my father, too.
IRIS: You didn’t give a damn about daddy! You came to Bay City to get your hands on his money, and you want to convince everyone else that you’ve changed. Well I still think you’re a scheming, gold-digging, social climbing, piece of trailer park trash!
IRIS LOOKS AT AMANDA AND WALKS OVER TO HER.
IRIS: And you, Amanda, always playing the ‘daddy’s little girl’ act. Trying to show all of us that you’re a business savvy, working woman and mother. The truth is you’re a spoiled brat! You always have been. Too bad your husbands wouldn’t stand for it. You’ve been cheated on I don’t know how many times. You dont have a clue about how to keep a man happy.
AMANDA: You’re so jealous.
RACHEL: She’s felt that way about you since the day you were born. She didn’t want Mac to have any other daughters besides her.
IRIS FIXES HER EYES ON RACHEL, AND WALKS SLOWLY TOWARD HER.
IRIS: Oh Rachel. You finally got me out of daddy’s company huh?
RACHEL: We can’t trust you Iris. Ever since I found out you were the Chief.
IRIS: Daddy forgave me for that a lonnng time ago.
RACHEL: We all have forgiven you. It doesn’t mean we’re going to forget.
IRIS: Oh there are plenty of things that I haven’t forgotten about you, you see, you’re just as much of gold digging social climber as Paulina. No wonder you two get along so well. You got your hooks into my father. I always saw through you, and ever since then you’ve been trying to get me out of his life.
RACHEL: Spare the victim routine Iris. You weren’t always the dutiful daughter. You let him the take the rap for Drew Marstons’ murder, and then you tried to steal his company right out from under him.
IRIS: Everything I did for daddy was out of love!
RACHEL: Your actions were out of greed.
IRIS: And what about your actions Rachel? You married Carl Hutchins of all people. The man who killed Thomasina Mason’s husband. The man who tried to kill Kathleen McKinnon. The man who wanted to take over daddy’s life!
DEVIN: That’s enough!
IRIS: No it’s not enough! Face the truth about your father Devin! He couldn’t be more envious! Carl wanted to be the head of daddy’s house; marry daddy’s wife; take over his company. And he accomplished all three. Rachel let that fox into our hen house by marrying him. I always thought you were stupid Rachel.
AMANDA: Should we call security to escort her out?
PAULINA: No I’ll throw the bitch out myself!
IRIS: No need. I’m leaving.
IRIS WALKS TO THE DOOR OF THE BOARD ROOM, THEN TURNS AROUND TO FACE THEM.
IRIS: I may be down, but I’m nowhere near out. I’m gonna grind this company to dust. There will be nothing left when I’m through! I promise you that.
