CHARLIE AND KIRKLAND WALK INTO THEIR SUITE. KIRKLAND PUTS HIS KEYS ON A NEARBY TABLE. CHARLIE BREAKS THE SILENCE.

CHARLIE: Kirkland talk to me.
KIRKLAND: About what?
CHARLIE: You barely said two words on the way home.
KIRKLAND: Look I know you’re not cheating on me with Eric Stenbeck of all people.
CHARLIE: Well then why do you get so upset when I talk to him? He’s not a bad person. He’s just...I saw him with his mother. I mean...she was not nice to him. He’s a human being like everybody else.
KIRKLAND: Are you really falling for the okey doke Charlie?
CHARLIE: What are you talking about?
KIRKLAND: Listen...Eric is a grown man. He doesn’t do anything he doesn’t want to do.
CHARLIE: He loves his mother. Just like you love Vicky, and I love my mother, despite what they’ve done.
KIRKLAND: You’re defending him?
CHARLIE: No. I’m just trying to reassure you that he’s not a threat to us. You said something about protecting our marriage.
KIRKLAND GENTLY PLACES HIS HANDS ON CHARLIE’S SHOULDERS, AND LOOKS INTO HER EYES.
KIRKLAND: I’m always trying to protect our marriage. I love you. I don’t wanna lose you.

SHARLENE: I’m looking for Gregory.
JOHN: Maybe he...went with some friends somewhere?
SHARLENE: He came downstairs to the living room in pain. So I went in the kitchen to get him some muscle relaxers. When I came back to the living room he wasn’t there, and he wasn’t in his room.
JOHN: Do you know where he could have gone?
SHARLENE: I don’t know but he is in a lot of pain. I think he needs a stronger prescription.
JOHN LOOKS AT HIS POST IT NOTE THAT READS: alwaysbemyson
JOHN: Well you know...I can’t write one for him because I’m his father.
SHARLENE: Didn’t Maggie prescribe him a strong dosage?
JOHN: I’m not sure but I can look into it.
SHARLENE: I worry about him John. I really hope this pain will subside for him soon.

AT THE HOSPITAL, GREGORY IS IN AN EMPTY EXAM ROOM AND BRIANNA COMES BACK IN.

GREGORY: I’ve basically been in pain since the accident.
BRIANNA: So the...painkillers that Dr. Winthrop prescribed aren’t helping?
GREGORY: I’ve already finished them.
BRIANNA: You have to take them as directed.
GREGORY: I was, but it’s not...not helping.
GREGORY WINCES IN PAIN, AND BRIANNA TAKES A CLEAR BAG OF WHITE PILLS OUT OF HER LAB COAT POCKET.
BRIANNA: Look I...I got these.
GREGORY: What...what is this?
BRIANNA: Believe me, they’ll help your pain. You only have to take one every four hours or so.
SHE GIVES THE BAG TO GREGORY.
GREGORY: Where did you get these?
BRIANNA: I...I’m going on break soon. I can show you.

ALLEN: Well unfortunately we can’t everything we want in life. I’m sure something else will come along for her.
TONI: Let’s not worry about Charlie right now. It’s your night.
KC: Thank you.
ALLEN: You got any other plans for the evening?
KC: I don’t wanna spoil our dinner.
ALLEN: Oh...Eric.
KC: I told him and he was really happy for me.
TONI: Look, we can’t tell you what to do or who you can see, but it doesn’t mean we don’t worry.
KC: I don’t...see what the big deal. It’s not Eric’s fault that he’s Christy’s son. He’s not her. He’s really sweet. He makes me laugh. Fine as hell.
ALLEN: Take your time KC. Do you really know him as well as you think you do?
KC: Do you really know anyone as well you want to? I love what I know so far, and after I leave here, he and I are gonna have our own celebration.
KC PUTS HER RIGHT HAND ON ALLEN’S HAND, AND HER LEFT HAND ON TONI’S.
KC: Listen I...I deeply appreciate you guys worrying about me. That’s what parents do but you have nothing to worry about. I will be fine.

AT ERIC’S, ERIC IS SITTING ON THE EDGE OF HIS BED, PULLS OUT THE NIGHTSTAND DRAWER, AND TAKES OUT A ROW OF CONDOMS. HE LOOKS AT THREE OF THEM, AND HE LOOKS THROUGH THE THAT HE PUT IN EACH OF THEM. HE GOES TO THE DRAWER AND PUTS THE INTACT CONDOMS ON THE SECOND DRAWER. IN THE TOP DRAWER, HE PLACES THE CONDOMS WITH THE HOLES IN THEM.
ERIC: Those are for you...Kirkland.

KIRKLAND AND CHARLIE ARE LYING IN BED AFTER HAVING MADE LOVE.
KIRKLAND: I’m...sorry you didn’t get the internship.
CHARLIE: It..it’s all so weird to me. I took PR classes at the other school I dropped out of. I got A’s.
KIRKLAND: Why did you drop out?
CHARLIE: I wasn’t really ready for the grind, but now I am. This internship would have helped me a lot. I just can’t wrap my head around why I didn’t get it.
KIRKLAND: KC told me that she got it. I guess you would have to know what her past experience was to compare. Guess there’s really only one way to find out.
CHARLIE: Yeah dad told me the same thing...ask Dr. Mason herself.

JOHN SIGHS AS SHARLENE FOLDS HER ARMS AND PACES SLOWLY SIDE TO SIDE.
JOHN: I hope so, too.
SHARLENE: Gregory’s been through so much in his life. I just want him to be happy and...for some things just to go right for him. I could kill whoever tampered with my brakes that night. He wasn’t even supposed to be in that accident.
JOHN: Yeah. I’m gonna check with the police to see if they’ve found anything else yet.
SHARLENE: Whoever did it was very clever. They didn’t leave many clues.
JOHN: Well we know Taylor didn’t do it.
SHARLENE: Who would want to do something like that? Who is out there trying to kill me?
JOHN: We need to start narrowing things down. Taylor never mentioned having any siblings or children.
SHARLENE: So you think that...whoever tampered with my brakes is connected to Taylor somehow?
JOHN: We have to do something...and fast. If this person is associated with Taylor, then they might not stop at trying to hurt you. They might come after Gregory.

OUTSIDE, IN A PARK, BRIANNA AND GREGORY WALK TOWARD A BENCH.
BRIANNA: You feeling better?
GREGORY: Yeah I am. Better than I’ve felt in a while.
BRIANNA: I told you they’d help.
GREGORY: So why are were here?
