PREVIOUSLY on ANOTHER WORLD.
• Bridget was put into a medically induced coma. She went into anaphylactic shock after taking amoxicillin that was prescribed to her for chlamydia. It turned out that Bridget never had chlamydia at all, as Michele hacked into the hospital mainframe and switched Bridget’s negative OB results with a patient who had chlamydia. After Bridget learned the test results (after Michele switched them), she and Cory broke up as Cory accused her of cheating on him.
• Lily Mason was a prostitute in the 80s. She had a child after she left Bay City with Marshall Edward Kramer. The child was Joy Kramer, who is Dana Kramer’s half sister.
AT THE HOSPITAL, VICKY walks into the chapel, walks up to the front, and sits on the bench. She looks up.
Cynthia Watros as Vicky Hudson |
VICKY: Bridget, I can hear you now.
VICKY speaks playfully mocking Bridget Connell.
VICKY: “Victoria. Give yourself a break. You are doing the best you can, but you do have to make it up to her.” You always told me what I needed to hear, even if I didn’t want to hear it. We named our daughter after you, and you would the same thing Donna says…how Bridget is just like me. Stubborn, scheming, determined at times to get what she wants. Yes, she is like me in that way, but I messed up. She insisted that she didn’t sleep with someone else. She really didn’t know how she was diagnosed, then we find out she never even had it. I owe her. I never believed her. I should have given my daughter the benefit of the doubt. I wish you were here to reassure me. I feel like I’m a bad mother, but I know deep down I’m a good mother. Jake and I raised our daughters right. Maybe…maybe this will put an end to their fighting. They’re gonna bring her out of her coma. Look out for us. I hope she and I can have a better relationship going forward, like the one I have with Michele.
VICKY’S PHONE VIBRATES. SHE READS IT AND IT’S A TEXT FROM RUSS. IT READS: Bridget’s ready.

AT THE CORY MANSION, MICHELE IS WITH CORY IN THE LIVING ROOM…
Denyse Tontz as
Michele McKinnon
|
Drew Tyler Bell as Cory Hutchins |
MICHELE: Cory I don’t want you to beat yourself up over this.
CORY: I have to make it up to her. I hope she takes me back.
MICHELE: Maybe you should slow your roll on that.
CORY looks at Michele quizzically.
CORY: Why?
MICHELE: I mean, she’ll need time to recover. She’s been through a terrible time. She collapsed right outside the front door. When she’s better maybe…that’s a good time to revisit getting back together.
CORY: I don’t understand. I thought you wanted Bridget and I to be together.
MICHELE: I’m not saying that I don’t. I’m saying that you should just…give her time to…reconnect with her family. We’ll be taking care of her.
CORY: I’m just sick about this. She must feel like I betrayed her…like she was alone.
MICHELE: I hate to say this but we had no reason to believe that she was telling the truth. We had no way of knowing what the doctors found out. Nobody did, and we have to cut ourselves some slack.
ELIZABETH WALKS IN.
Kelley Missal as Elizabeth Hutchins |
ELIZABETH: She’s right. Take comfort in knowing that she’s gonna be okay.
MICHELE gets a text from DAD. It reads: COME 2 HOSPITAL ASAP. LOVE DAD
MICHELE: My God. Dad wants me to come to the hospital. Must be something about Bridget.

AT THE CENTER, STEVEN IS WALKING AND HIS CELL PHONE RINGS.
Mark Lawson as Steven Frame
|
Denise Vasi as Joy Kramer |
STEVEN: Joy? Hey sweetheart.
-
JOY: Just calling to see how you were doing?
-
STEVEN: I’m doing pretty good. Just took a little break.
-
JOY: Any news on Bridget?
-
STEVEN: That’s where I’m headed now. My mom texted me. Come join me. I could use your support.
-
JOY: You know I would but I’m not up for another sparring session with your mother.
-
STEVEN: I understand. I’ll call you with any other news.
-
JOY: Love you.
-
STEVEN: Love, you too.

AT THOMASINA’S HOUSE, JOY PRESSES END CALL WHEN SOMEONE RINGS THE DOORBELL. JOY ANSWERS THE DOOR.
JOY: Mom?
“MOM” is LILY MASON.
Jackee Harry as Lily Mason |
LILY: Don’t just leave me standing out here. Ain’t you gonna invite me in?
LILY WALKS IN.
JOY: Do what you just did? Invite yourself in.
LILY: I’ve been trying to get in touch with you.
JOY: And I have nothing to say to you.
LILY: Well good because you can listen, because I got a whole lot to tell you.
JOY: An apology would be a good starting point.
LILY: Girl are you still bitter about what happened?
JOY: All you did was leave me on cousin Thomasina and Carter Todd’s doorstep so you could run the streets so forgive me if I’m a little salty about that.
LILY: When are you gonna forgive me? I did what was best for you.
JOY: Well your best wasn’t good enough was it? You chose to be a whore instead of taking care of your own daughter!
LILY SLAPS JOY ACROSS HER LEFT CHEEK.
LILY: Don’t you ever speak to me like that again! No matter what you think I did to you, I’m still your mother, so I suggest you stay in your lane young lady because you have no idea what happened.

AT THE HOSPITAL, JAKE AND PAULINA ARE IN THE WAITING AREA.
Tom Eplin as Jake McKinnon |
Judi Evans as Paulina Cory |
JAKE: So Bridget’s gonna wake up.
PAULINA: That’s great news.
JAKE: So why don’t I feel as elated as I should be.
PAULINA: Because none of this should have happened in the first place. Her tests got mixed up with someone else’s.
JAKE: Right, but was it really just a mistake by the hospital? Or did someone cause it?
PAULINA: Jake maybe you should let it go, for Bridget’s sake. She’s gonna need you. She’s gonna need all of us to be positive.
JAKE: Thank you. You’re the voice of reason sometimes.
PAULINA: All the time.
THEY HUG WHEN VICKY ARRIVES. VICKY OBSERVES JAKE AND PAULINA’S HUG. DONNA WALKS UP TO VICKY FROM BEHIND AS SHE ALSO SEES WHAT VICKY SEES.
Anna Stuart as Donna Love |
DONNA: Victoria any…oh.
CAMERA PAN ON VICKY AND DONNA…SLOW FADE TO THEME SONG.

PART 2
JOY: You don’t get to come in here after all these years and tell me to listen to you. I made my own way.
LILY: And you have turned out to be…a lovely, beautiful young woman.
LILY’S EYES WELL UP.
JOY: Oh spare me the crocodile tears.
LILY: I didn’t want you runnin’ the streets with me. That is no kind of life for a baby.
THOMASINA COMES IN.
Amelia Marshall as Thomasina Mason
|
THOMASINA: Aunt Lily. What are you doing here? I see things have gotten off to an auspicious start between you two.
LILY: Please tell Joy that I did what was best for her.
THOMASINA: I…I don’t know what you want me to say.
LILY: Tell her I made this arrangement with you when I found out I was pregnant.
THOMASINA PUTS HER PURSE AND BAG DOWN ON THE COUCH, SIGHS, AND WALKS UP TO JOY.
THOMASINA: She did. Carter was doing really well and I was going to medical school, so it was the perfect situation.
LILY: I got pregnant by a young man named Marshall Edward Kramer III. He was an up and coming author. We carried on for a while, and I loved him, but he had to pursue his career.
JOY FOLDS HER ARMS AND FACES LILY.
JOY: And you had to pursue yours.
LILY: You were conceived in love.
JOY: So why didn’t you leave me with my father? I could have gotten to know my sister a lot sooner.
LILY: I’m sorry baby but they didn’t want you, and I wasn’t about to be no single mother.
THOMASINA: So she asked Carter and me to take care of you. Besides, Junior always wanted a little sister, and Carter and I hadn’t had Serena yet so, it was perfect.
JOY’S EYES WELL UP.
JOY: So you didn’t want me?
LILY: That wasn’t the case at all baby. Being a madam was all I knew. These men didn’t care about no baby. They could have hurt you badly. Leaving you with Thomasina was the best thing I could have done for you, and you turned out fine right?
THOMASINA: She did, but I’m curious. Why did you wait until now to tell this to Joy?
LILY: Because it’s the right time now…time to ask for your forgiveness.
JOY: Answer Thomasina’s question. Why now?
LILY: Because I have cancer. I’ve been given less than six months to live.
THOMASINA: Oh my God.
JOY: So you wanna go around and make amends for the people you’ve wronged. You wanna die in peace is that it?
LILY: Joy it’s up to you. I wasn’t there for you like a mother should have been but…I’m not gonna justify my reasons for asking Thomasina to raise you but…I hope you will let this bitterness go and be happy. That’s all I want for you.
THOMASINA: She’s right Joy. So do you forgive her?
JOY: I’m not giving you a break just because you’re sick. If you were healthy you wouldn’t even be here, so the answer is hell no.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CORY: I wanna go see her.
ELIZABETH: For what it’s worth I think Michele’s right. Maybe it’s best you stay here. Her grandma Donna doesn’t want you anywhere near Bridget. I’m sure she’ll call as soon as she has some news.
CORY: Well when is that gonna be?
ELIZABETH: You’ve gotta be patient. You’re gonna drive yourself crazy by sitting here wondering about it.
CORY: I was so wrong Lizzie. Bridget was telling me the truth the whole time, and I didn’t believe her. It was almost like I was…waiting for the other shoe to drop you know?
ELIZABETH: You had no possible way of knowing that---
CORY: Come on Lizzie I don’t wanna hear that anymore! I love Bridget, and I was supposed to believe in her.
ELIZABETH: Look, given what’s happened in the past, you have to admit that Bridget’s character does come into question.
CORY: She’s not that girl in high school anymore. We took care of each other when we thought Michele was dead. She changed. Then Michele came back and all they’ve done was fight since then. I hope this will end the feud between them. Everything will be back the way it was.
ELIZABETH: By that you mean…you and Bridget patching things up. So what if, say, Bridget doesn’t take you back? What if she decides that your lack of trust is too much of a mountain to climb? Did you ever think about that?
CORY: No I don’t. That’s negative. I’m choosing to focus positively about this. Bridget and I will get back together.
JAKE AND PAULINA PULL OFF AND NOTICE VICKY AND DONNA.
PAULINA: Hey.
VICKY: I got a text from Dr. Matthews.
JAKE: So did I.
DONNA: So I guess they’re ready to bring Bridget back. This is absolutely wonderful news. Maybe this is a new beginning for us. We can start being a family again. As a matter of fact, I’m going to go make some calls. I’m going to throw a celebration.
STEVEN walks in and VICKY WALKS UP TO HIM.
VICKY: Hi sweetheart.
STEVEN: Hey there’s news about Bridget?
RUSS MATTHEWS WALKS IN.
Jim Storm as Russ Matthews |
RUSS: Yes. Bridget should be waking up any minute now.
JAKE: Can we see her?
RUSS: Sure, but keep it light. We don’t want to stress her out.
A FEW MINUTES LATER, JAKE, VICKY, PAULINA, STEVEN, AND RUSS ENTER BRIDGET’S ROOM AS BRIDGET LIES IN HER BED. BRIDGET STARTS TO OPEN HER EYES. JAKE WALKS UP TO HER BED WITH PAULINA BEHIND HIM.
JAKE: Hey honey. Welcome back.
PAULINA: We’re right here.
BRIDGET LOOKS AT JAKE AND PAULINA AS MICHELE ENTERS THE ROOM, THEN BRIDGET FIXES HER EYES STRAIGHT AT MICHELE, AND THE TWO MAKE EYE CONTACT.
FREEZE FRAME ON SPLIT SCREEN WITH BRIDGET ON THE RIGHT, MICHELE ON THE LEFT…SLOW FADE OUT…END OF EPISODE 305
Well, I loved seeing Lily again. I do wish her scenes with Joy and Thomasina had been drawn out a bit longer, you had a few beats in those scenes I really wanted to see played out over a few episodes with some more digging into the family dirt, but it was a good scene nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteThe hospital drama is still red hot. Cory, understandably, wants to rush in to see Bridget, and to let her know he was wrong. And everyone else, quite rightly, knows that that's a terrible idea. That conflict is so good, and so natural, it's brilliant.
I enjoyed seeing Donna and Vicky react to Jake and Paulina's affectionate exchange. I bet they were not expecting that romance to rekindle!
The LOOK Bridget gave Michele. It's about to be ON. Fireworks are coming, and I love it! The next episode will be just as good as this, I'm sure.
Great job!
