RAFAEL: Where?
ANTONIO: I gotta go…
RAFAEL: Wait…wait…I don’t want to lecture you.
ANTONIO: Well that’s a miracle. That’s all you’ve done since you’ve come to town.
RAFAEL: I wish that you would understand where I’m coming from.
ANTONIO: How many times do I have to tell you? It’s a little late to play daddy. You were in prison while I lived with your parents.
RAFAEL: And I don’t want you to get locked up like I did!
ANTONIO: I won’t okay. I’m leaving…
PAULINA: Do you want me to stay with you? Do you want some tea?
RACHEL: Oh I’m so sorry. You came to talk about Dante.
PAULINA: No no it’s okay. You seem very worried about Matthew.
RACHEL: I don’t know why. There’s nothing else I can do.
PAULINA: Does he know that Brianna’s been lying to him?
RACHEL: I’m not sure. He won’t take any of my calls and he hasn’t responded to any of my texts.
RACHEL: I don’t know. Probably on the next plane to God knows where with that woman.

AT THE HOSPITAL, A MAN
DRESSED IN SCRUBS AND A DOCTOR’S MASK WALKS INTO MAGGIE’S ROOM WITH A LAUNDRY
BASKET. HE PULLS DOWN HIS MASK.
ANTONIO: Mom it’s me.
MAGGIE, WHO BRIEFLY
PRETENDS TO BE SLEEPING, WAKES UP.
MAGGIE: Son.
ANTONIO: Get in here.
ANTONIO: Get in here.
RACHEL: Go ahead. He might be ready to tell you if something’s bothering him.
PAULINA: Are you two gonna be okay?
RACHEL: We’ll be fine.
PAULINA: Call me if you need anything. Love you.
RACHEL: Love you, too.
MATT: We had a fight. I found out the truth and I confronted her. I know everything mom. I suppose you can break out the champagne and celebrate. Brianna, oh I’m sorry, Ellen, and I are over.
RACHEL: How did you find out?
MATT: That doesn’t matter.
RACHEL: I’m very sorry to hear that.
MATT: Are you though mom? I mean this is what you wanted right?
DANTE: I’m sorry I…haven’t been in touch with you. Since I became detective I’ve been crazy busy.
PAULINA: I understand.
DANTE: How are things with you?
PAULINA: Could be better.
DANTE: You and Jake are getting along pretty well right.
PAULINA: I don’t wanna see Jake’s face again. I might pound it.
DANTE: I’m a detective mom.
PAULINA: Take your cop hat off. I didn’t mean that literally.
DANTE: What happened?
PAULINA: Jake isn’t who I thought he was.
DANTE: Well that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. You’ve known each other for years. You were married to the guy.
PAULINA: You may know someone for a long time, but you find that you really don’t know them at all.
DANTE: What did he do? If you don’t mind telling me.
PAULINA: Let’s just say he’s a world class jerk, and I don’t want anything to do with him.
DANTE: Whatever it is, I’m sure you guys can work it out.
PAULINA: I’m not sure this time. What he did was unforgivable.
DANTE: You two have been down this road before. The destination will be the same.
PAULINA: I don’t know what’s gonna happen. I just want him to stay away from me.
DANTE: I know the feeling.
PAULINA: You do?
DANTE: Yes. Some things are just…hard to get past.
PAULINA: Really? Is that…what’s been bothering you?
DANTE: That’s kind of why I called you here. Something is on my mind.
PAULINA: I could tell. I mean I don’t wanna push you. Only if you’re ready to talk about it.
DANTE: I wasn’t when I got back but…I am now.
DANTE: Yes mom now let me talk before I lose my nerve.
PAULINA: Okay okay.
DANTE: Something happened at the Police Academy.
PAULINA: Police business?
DANTE: You got it. Sorry mom. I gotta go.
PAULINA: I understand. Love you honey.

MATT: John and Sharlene came here and tried to warn me about her, but I didn’t listen.
RACHEL: That’s not important. You know the truth now.
MATT: I struck out again mom. I chose the wrong woman…again.
RACHEL: Was she still there when you left?
MATT: Yes.
RACHEL: I’m gonna make sure she leaves Bay City…for good.
ELIZABETH: John went into Gregory’s room and Sharlene was just here.
THOMASINA: John’s not there.
ELIZABETH: Have you seen Sharlene?
THOMASINA: No.
ELIZABETH: Something doesn’t feel right about all of this.
