Rafael Santierro |
Rachel Cory Hutchins |
RACHEL (v.o. on phone): Rafael hi.
RAFAEL: Have you been by to see Maggie?
RACHEL: No change last I checked. I think she could really benefit from you going to see her.
RAFAEL: Yeah I’m gonna go by in a few but I called because I was wondering if you had any work available on the grounds.
RACHEL: I’m sorry I don’t. I have people that work for me now and they do a great job taking care of everything.
RAFAEL: I figured but I’m having a hard time finding work since I got back and being I’m fairly familiar with the estate, I thought you could hire me to do some jobs.
RACHEL: I really wish I could help you but I’m very pleased with my . If it’s money that you need I could loan you some.
RAFAEL: No…no that won’t be necessary. Thanks Rachel. I’m gonna go see Maggie.
RACHEL: If you need anything let me know.
RAFAEL: Will do.
Dana Kramer |
RAFAEL: Sure. Although I do have to ask, there are plenty of other seats available. Why sit across from me?
DANA: I heard you on the phone. You’re looking for a job aren’t you?
RAFAEL: Yeah. Why are you asking?
DANA: I’m getting to that.
RAFAEL: Sorry I don’t know you.
DANA: You may not know me, but I know you. In 2002, you were sentenced to twenty five years in prison for drug trafficking, but you were released on good behavior. You lived in Bay City and you worked for Carl Hutchins.
RAFAEL: How do you know me?
DANA: I have my ways of finding what I want Mr. Santierro, but I’m not only here to make your acquaintance.
RAFAEL: What do you want with me?
DANA: You’re absolutely perfect the position I have open.
RAFAEL: So you’re offering me a job?
DANA: Yes. Come work for me.
RAFAEL: What will this job entail?
DANA: Come back to my office, and we can discuss those details.
Joy Kramer |
Steven Frame |
JOY: May I come in? I understand if you don’t…
STEVEN: Of course you can.
JOY: I’ve been…spending time with my mother.
STEVEN: Wow.
JOY: I thought about what you said, and I decided to forgive her.

AT THE BLAKE’S, SOMEONE RINGS THE DOORBELL AND FELICIA
ANSWERS IT.
FELICIA: Oh my
God. Lily?
LILY: In the flesh.
FELICIA: Well don’t just stand there. Come in come in.
THEY HUG.
LILY: I had to
come and see you.
FELICIA: It’s been so many years. How are you?
LILY: I couldn’t be better.
FELICIA: That’s good. I saw your daughter Joy. I knew her father pretty well.
LILY: Marshall?
FELICIA: We worked together when we were at Cory Publishing.
LILY: I always knew he was gon’ make it.
FELICIA: He was a very nice guy.
LILY: So why didn’t it work between you and him?
Felicia Gallant Blake |
Lily Mason |
LILY: In the flesh.
FELICIA: Well don’t just stand there. Come in come in.
FELICIA: It’s been so many years. How are you?

FELICIA: That’s good. I saw your daughter Joy. I knew her father pretty well.

AT THE HOSPITAL, JAKE ARRIVES AT THOMASINA’S OFFICE.
JAKE: You
called.
THOMASINA: Yes. Thanks for coming.
THOMASINA WALKS OVER TO HER DESK AND SITS DOWN AT HER
COMPUTER. JAKE SITS ACROSS FROM HER.
JAKE: You said
something about the breach.
THOMASINA PRINTS SOMETHING AND GRABS IT OFF THE
PRINTER.
THOMASINA: I
can’t give you any specific details. But
this. This tells you when it happened.
SHE GIVES JAKE THE PIECE OF PAPER, THEN PRINTS
SOMETHING ELSE OUT.
THOMASINA: And
this is when Bridget visited her OB.
JAKE COMPARES THE TWO PIECES OF PAPER.
JAKE: Oh my
God. This isn’t what I wanted to see.
CAMERA PAN ON JAKE.
SLOW FADE OUT. END OF PART 1.
Jake McKinnon |
Thomasina Mason |
THOMASINA: Yes. Thanks for coming.
JOY: No it definitely wasn’t.
STEVEN: Do you feel like I…pushed you into doing it?
JOY: No…no not at all. It was exactly what I needed.
JOY: She didn’t say anything that she didn’t say before. I just listened this time.
STEVEN: You were more receptive.
JOY: Right. And I…I understood where she was coming from. For the first time I finally got it. The lifestyle she was living was no place for a child to be. So she left me with Thomasina and Carter to raise. I saw where she was coming from.
STEVEN: You look like a weight has been lifted off of you.
JOY: I always felt like I was carrying this resentment around. I developed a rough exterior because of it. It was a protection mechanism.
JOY: And you didn’t give up on me.
STEVEN: I fall in love with you more and more each day. Your beauty, your strength.
JOY: And my aggravation.
STEVEN: Shhh. I forgive you.
JOY: What is it?
STEVEN: Guess Bridget taught grandma how to text.
JOY: What about your mother? I’m sure she’s gonna be there.
STEVEN: Don’t worry about my mother. I’ll handle that.
-------------------
FELICIA: I
didn’t quite see him as a romantic interest.
LILY: I don’t how see you didn’t. All that fine chocolate.
THEY LAUGH.
FELICIA: He
left town shortly after. Then I fell in
love with John.
LILY: Are you talking about John Hudson? Sharlene’s husband.
FELICIA: There are a hundred stories I could tell you.
LILY: Me, too. I had to come see you because…because of Wallingford.
FELICIA SMILES.
FELICIA:
Yeah. I miss him every day. After everything that’s happened, I wonder
what he would say to me.
LILY: I don’t know what he would say, but I know what he wouldn’t do. He wouldn’t judge you. He would tell you about yourself.
FELICIA CHUCKLES.
FELICIA: He
sure would.
LILY: But, we would go on like nothing ever happened. He was the best.
FELICIA: Yes he was.
LILY: That little man had big spunk.
FELICIA SMILES AND SIGHS.
FELICIA: I’m
sure he’s looking down on us from heaven.
LILY: He died in peace. You know that’s the best thing in the world…peace.
FELICIA: Have you spoken to Joy?
LILY SMILES.
LILY: Yes. She forgave me. She felt like I abandoned her. After I explained everything she…she understood. She was so angry, and I was responsible for
that.
FELICIA: Lorna was the same way when I found out she was my daughter.
LILY: When she forgave me, and we cried, and hugged, I saw her spirit lighten. If you asked me why I came back to Bay City, it’s because I wanted my daughter’s forgiveness. Now I can…be at peace.
SOMEONE KNOCKS ON THE DOOR, AND FELICIA ANSWERS
IT.
LILY: I don’t how see you didn’t. All that fine chocolate.
LILY: Are you talking about John Hudson? Sharlene’s husband.
FELICIA: There are a hundred stories I could tell you.
LILY: Me, too. I had to come see you because…because of Wallingford.
LILY: I don’t know what he would say, but I know what he wouldn’t do. He wouldn’t judge you. He would tell you about yourself.

Devin Hutchins |
DEVIN: Hey grandma.
LILY: Who is this good looking young man?
FELICIA: He’s my grandson Devin.
LILY: Nice to meet you Devin. Well I’m gonna get out of here.
FELICIA: Ooh Lily. Thank you for coming by.
DEVIN: Came to check on you.
FELICIA: Aren’t you nice. I’m fine. Wait a minute. Your club is going to open soon.
DEVIN: Yep. Tomorrow.
FELICIA: Are you ready?
DEVIN: Absolutely.
DANA: Yes.
RAFAEL: So what makes you think I’m perfect for this job?
DANA: Put it like this. You don’t like to get your hands dirty, but you don’t mind some dinginess.
RAFAEL: The dirtiest I got was taking down the Cory Ice House and touching the side of the unwashed limo.
DANA: You don’t have to downplay it. You worked for Carl Hutchins. Even after he married Rachel he wasn’t the mostly saintly man in town.
RAFAEL: But you’re a hotshot attorney not a reformed criminal.
DANA: The way I see it, Rafael, is that you don’t have a whole lot of choices. I don’t think any other place in town is going to put a convicted felon on their payroll. Look, if you need time to think about it, which I couldn’t imagine why you would need that, then I’ll give you twenty four hours.
DANA: I knew you'd make the right decision.
DANA: I'll be in touch. Welcome aboard.
RAFAEL WALKS OUT AS MAURICE WALKS IN.
DANA: Oh my
God, I’m so sorry I lost track of time.
DANA LOOKS AT THE FLOWERS.
DANA: Who are
those for?
MAURICE: Oh these. I…um…lost a bet with another doctor so I have to carry these around town.
DANA: You’re a gambler.
MAURICE: Would you mind putting these in water? You can keep these.
DANA: So you’re not taking them along with us for our…conversation.
MAURICE: Nah. You can leave them here.
DANA AND MAURICE SMILE AT EACH OTHER.
Maurice Bingham |
MAURICE: Oh these. I…um…lost a bet with another doctor so I have to carry these around town.
DANA: You’re a gambler.
MAURICE: Would you mind putting these in water? You can keep these.
DANA: So you’re not taking them along with us for our…conversation.
MAURICE: Nah. You can leave them here.
JAKE: No. I was just trying to verify when Bridget had her test and when the breach happened.
THOMASINA: Nobody else’s personal health information was compromised during the breach. Just Bridget’s and someone else’s.
THOMASINA: There’s no specific information on those sheets so you can keep them.
JAKE: If I knew, don’t you think I would tell you? I thought the hospital was investigating. These papers don’t prove anything. These are only dates. Nothing specific.
THOMASINA: True, but call me if you think of anything.
JAKE: I will.
