• Dana Kramer returned to Bay City to help her sister Joy beat an attempting kidnapping charge
• Mac Cory wrote a revised will leaving a great deal of his estate to his eldest child. It was long thought to be Iris, but it was Michael Hudson’s identical twin brother, Martin Hudson, who died in a 1998 car accident that also killed Shane Roberts. AT THE CENTER, ELIZABETH is sitting at a table when DANTE walks up.
Elizabeth Hutchins |
Dante Carlino |
ELIZABETH: Heyyyy.
DANTE: Hey you.
THEY HUG AND DANTE sits down across ELIZABETH.
ELIZABETH: Thanks for meeting me.
DANTE: How you been?
ELIZABETH: What isn’t going on? You know Bridget’s in the hospital.
DANTE: I heard. How’s she doing?
ELIZABETH: She’s gonna be fine. The doctors brought her out of her coma.
DANTE: That’s good right?
ELIZABETH: I guess it is.
DANTE: How did Michele take it?
ELIZABETH: What made you ask about her?
DANTE: Oh come on, everybody knows they’re always two seconds from killing each other.
ELIZABETH: Yeah I suppose you’re right. I don’t know. I haven’t really talked to her about it.
DANTE: Riiiiiight.
ELIZABETH: Dante don’t be like that.
DANTE: Like what?
ELIZABETH: Michele and Bridget are gonna patch things up.
DANTE: I hope so.
ELIZABETH: I know so, and stop trying to avoid things.
DANTE: What are you talking about?
ELIZABETH: I’m talking about you. Have you talked to anyone about that yet?
DANTE: Not now Lizzie. I don’t wanna bring that up.
ELIZABETH: Come on Dante. I know that look. Let’s take a walk.

AT THE HOSPITAL, DR MAURICE BINGHAM walks up to the NURSES’ STATION as DANA KRAMER gets off of the elevator on her cell phone.
Dr. Maurice Bingham |
Dana Kramer |
DANA: Hey it’s me. Good luck on your interview today. Call me and tell me how it goes. Bye.
DANA presses end call, and proceeds toward the Nurses station as MAURICE talks to one of the nurses at the counter.
MAURICE: Hey do you know if Dr. Mason’s around?
NURSE: I’m sorry Dr. Bingham I haven’t seen her.
MAURICE: Okay thanks.
DANA walks up the counter.
DANA: Well I guess you saved me a question. I was hoping she was here.
MAURICE turns and faces DANA.
MAURICE: Oh?
DANA: Yeah I was…just…uh…hoping she was hungry. I sure am.
MAURICE: Any particular place in mind?
DANA: There isn’t much in Bay City is it?
MAURICE: Well there’s the Lucky Lady; Tops; The Center Deli.
DANA: The way I’m feeling right now, a roast beef sandwich is just not gonna cut it. I was hoping for a nice hearty meal.
MAURICE: Well I…I was headed out. Tops serves, as you put it, nice hearty meals.
DANA: You’re not gonna eat alone?
MAURICE: I don’t really know anybody in town. I’m pretty new to the city.
DANA: So you’re gonna eat by yourself?
MAURICE smiles.
MAURICE: If I didn’t know any better I…I think you’re offering to keep me company.
DANA: I guess you’re gonna have to…stand in for Thomasina.
MAURICE: Before we break bread, I’m Maurice Bingham.
DANA: Dana Kramer.
THEY SMILE AT EACH OTHER.

AT BAYCORP, RACHEL and MATT sit at a table in a meeting room.
Rachel Cory Hutchins |
Matt Cory |
RACHEL: I wonder what happened to Maggie.
MATT: We’ll go after this interview. Hope she’s okay.
RACHEL: Me, too
The office phone buzzes and Rachel answers it.
RACHEL: He’s here? Send him in.
BRYANT KRAMER, dresses in a gray suit and black tie, walks in.
Bryant Kramer |
MATT: Hello Mr. Kramer.
BRYANT: Hello.
MATT: I’m Matthew Cory. This is my mother Rachel.
RACHEL: Nice to meet you. Please have a seat.
BRYANT: I’ve heard so much about you.
RACHEL: I’m sure you have.
MATT: Thanks for coming. Why don’t we get started?

AT IRIS’S SUITE, VIVIEN walks out from one of the bedrooms while IRIS sits in the living room.
Vivien Gorrow |
Iris Spaulding |
VIVIEN: Oh my God what time is it?
IRIS: It’s early afternoon.
VIVIEN: What’s for breakfast?
IRIS: First of all, I don’t cook breakfast. Second of all, I only said that you could spend one night. You have to leave…today. So I suggest you take a nice hot shower, and get out of my suite.
VIVIEN: I’m sorry Iris but…I can’t do that.
CAMERA PAN ON VIVIEN…SLOW FADE TO THEME SONG.
-------------------------------------------
PART 2
IRIS: What do you mean you can’t do that? I only let you stay here one night.
VIVIEN: I told you that I needed a job.
IRIS: And I don’t have any openings here.
VIVIEN: But my mom worked for you. Doesn’t that count for something?
IRIS: Listen, I will always be grateful for your mother’s loyalty and service, but I don’t owe you anything.
VIVIEN: I’m her daughter, and she told me that I could come to you if I needed anything.
IRIS: Vivien…Junior…I can’t help you. I let you stay here one night. You need to get your things and leave.
VIVIEN: I…I have nowhere else to go.
IRIS: I really don’t know what to tell you sweetheart, but the world is a cruel place. We have to make our own way.
VIVIEN: My mother told me that you were rich. What way did you make?
IRIS: I can’t…help you. You need to go.
VIVIEN: I’m not going anywhere. I’m not asking for a handout. I’m willing to work for the money. I will do the same job that my mother did.
IRIS: I don’t have an opening for that job.
VIVIEN: It’s not like you don’t have the money Iris Spaulding.
IRIS: I don’t need a housekeeper. If you’re not out of here within the hour I will call security.
VIVIEN: So that’s how it’s gonna be?
IRIS: Vivien I am under no obligation to take care of you. You have to go.
VIVIEN: Wait a minute. I just thought of a place that I could rest my head. That handsome guy that was here. Bryant Kramer’s his name?
IRIS fixes her eyes on VIVIEN intently.
IRIS: What about him?
VIVIEN: Or better yet, I can go to that big mansion. I think it’s the Cory Estate? I could have a talk with Rachel.
IRIS: You don’t know Rachel.
VIVIEN: My mother and I were very close. She told me everything there is to know about Bay City. She told me about how you tried to swindle your own father out of his company. You were called “The Chief” I think it was.
IRIS: So what do you think you’re gonna tell Rachel?
VIVIEN: You said she doesn’t know me right? Once I mention you, and that you’re working with Bryant Kramer to take over BayCorp, she would welcome me with open arms and stop you. Oh well I guess I’ll get my things and leave…
IRIS: No. No you…you can stay. As long as you need.
-------------------
RACHEL: Your resume is very impressive. You worked at Lewis Energy in Springfield?
BRYANT: As an intern I worked closely with Josh and Billy Lewis. I ran a lot of the financial numbers for them. They even let me make a few deals.
MATT: We’ve made some calls and they say a lot of good things about you.
BRYANT: Thank you.
RACHEL: Why should we hire you at BayCorp?
BRYANT: Well I’m hard working, I just graduated in top 5 percentile of my class, and I have previous experience. In today’s world, it’s hard to find someone who has experience as young as I am. I get along well with others, and I’m a team player. I’m always willing to learn, and I come with ideas that could help improve operations at the company. Those are the things that make me a great candidate for Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer.
RACHEL and MATT look at each other. RACHEL purses her lips.
RACHEL: You sell yourself well Mr. Kramer.
BRYANT: Please…call me Bryant.
MATT: I don’t…see any reason why we shouldn’t offer you the job.
RACHEL: Me neither. I will have our HR department email you a formal offer, but we would like to the extend the verbal offer now.
BRYANT: Wow…uh…I would consider it a privilege to work here. I accept.
RACHEL and MATT each extend their right hand.
MATT: Welcome aboard.

DANA and MAURICE both wipe their mouths with white handkerchiefs.
DANA: Wow that hit the spot.
MAURICE: Yeah that salad really must have filled your tummy.
DANA: You think you’re so funny. It had grilled chicken in it.
MAURICE: Yeah, two whole pieces.
DANA: Well a gal’s gotta stay healthy.
MAURICE: I suppose you're right.
DANA: You woofed down that T Bone I see.
MAURICE: It’s all about the meat right? But you failed to mention the potatoes and vegetables.
DANA laughs.
DANA: I didn’t get a chance. You interrupted me before I could get the words out of my mouth.
MAURICE: This is a nice break in between patients.
DANA: Saving lives?
MAURICE: I suppose you could say that. I deal with the mental side of things.
DANA: You’re a psychiatrist?
MAURICE: You got it. So what is it that you do? What brought you to Bay City?
DANA: Awful lot of questions.
MAURICE: Well let me be honest. I know we just met and everything but…I’m intrigued by you, and I’d like to know more. If…that’s okay with you.
DANA smiles.
DANA: You’re direct.
MAURICE: Is that a problem?
DANA: I’m not complaining. I like it. So…I’ll tell you why I came back to Bay City.
MAURICE: Back? So you were here before?
DANA: Yes I was…
DANA leans in slightly closer toward MAURICE.
DANA: But why don’t we save some conversation…for next time?
MAURICE smiles.
MAURICE: Oh I get it. You want to keep me wanting more.
DANA: I’m not stringing you along. I mean, do you eat all of your meals in one setting? You save some for later.
MAURICE leans in closer to DANA and folds his hands on the table.
MAURICE: So why don’t we…make a time that we can…continue our conversation?
DANA: I’d like that.
--------------------------
AT IRIS’S SUITE, IRIS gets a call on her cell phone.
IRIS: He’s here? Send him up.
THE ELEVATOR DOORS OPEN and BRYANT walks through. IRIS walks to the bar and pours herself a glass of wine.
BRYANT: Starting early aren’t you?
IRIS: You got some good news for me?
BRYANT: Good for news for whom?
IRIS: Did you get the job or not?
BRYANT: They hired me.
IRIS: Good work. You do know this benefits both of us.
BRYANT: Yeah because you’re really concerned about my best interests.
IRIS: Despite what you’ve heard I’m not the monster people make me out to be.
BRYANT: You shot Carl Hutchins to keep him from marrying Rachel. Naah you’re not a monster, you’re just a baby dragon.
IRIS: You think this is funny? My birthright is at stake here.
BRYANT: You mean MY birthright.
IRIS: I have every right to that company as anyone else.
BRYANT: But I am the one it belongs to, since my father’s no longer living. I mean what do you want with BayCorp anyway? You’ve inherited all this money from Brandon Spaulding.
IRIS: You think this is about money? This is about payback. I’m gonna make them all pay for kicking me out of my daddy’s company.
BRYANT: It’s MY company. I am the rightful heir to Mac’s fortune, and I’m gonna take it.
VIVIEN walks in from the bedroom, and BRYANT turns to her.
BRYANT: You didn’t hear any of that did you?
VIVIEN: The part where you said you were filthy rich? Nope I didn’t hear anything.
IRIS: She knows. She overheard our conversation the other night.
VIVIEN: I’m Vivien. Very nice to meet you.
VIVIEN smiles.

AT THE PARK, ELIZABETH AND DANTE are walking slowly side by side.
DANTE: My work helps me to forget about it.
ELIZABETH: That’s the thing. You won’t ever forget about it. It’s always gonna eat at you until you talk to someone. You have to get it out.
DANTE: Lizzie I don’t need to. I’ve been dealing with it for a long time. I’ve been coping pretty well.
ELIZABETH: It’s not only going to affect you. It’s gonna affect anyone who cares about you. I want you to get some help. Talk to someone about what happened.
They take a few more steps and see GREGORY passed out on the ground.
ELIZABETH: Oh my God. Gregory?
ELIZABETH runs to Gregory and checks him out.
ELIZABETH: Gregory?
DANTE looks at him, takes out a pen, and sticks Gregory in the thigh with it.
ELIZABETH: What did you just do?
DANTE: Naloxone.
ELIZABETH: Really? That’s for people who…
DANTE: Right. Reverses the effect of opioid overdoses.
ELIZABETH: You think he O.D.’d?
GREGORY starts to come to.
GREGORY: What…what happened?
DANTE: You overdosed on opioids. We gotta take him to the hospital.

LINDSAY: My goodness you’re worse than some of my patients.
DEVIN: I got a lot to do, and I’m not gonna be able to do it sitting in this chair.
LINDSAY: I can’t let you get up.
DEVIN: Oh my God.
