IN TANQUIR, TYRONE AND MARLEY ARE STANDING IN A ROOM SURROUNDED BY PLANTS AND CEILING FANS.  REGINALD IS LYING IN A HOSPITAL BED HOOKED UP TO TUBES.

MARLEY:  Cecile called and told me that Reginald would no longer be a threat to Roman, or anyone else in the family.  He’s been very sick.  Apparently he was bitten by an exotic bug, and they haven’t been able to slow down the infection.  

TYRONE:  I don’t put nothing past him.  He survived a fall from a clock tower.

THEY BOTH TURN AND LOOK AT REGINALD.

MARLEY:  I don’t think he’s gonna get through this one.  It’s real bad.

TYRONE:  Can I hold my son?

MARLEY:  Of course.

MARLEY GIVES ROMAN TO TYRONE.

TYRONE:  Hey kid.  Daddy missed you. I’m here now.  

SUDDENLY, THEY HEAR A COUGH, BECAUSE REGINALD IS WAKING UP, AND THEY FACE HIM.

REGINALD:  Did you...did you really think you’d get rid of me that easily?

TYRONE AND MARLEY FACE REGINALD SLOWLY AS REGINALD COUGHS AND LAUGHS.

MARLEY:  You.

REGINALD:  Yeeees granddaughter….me.

TYRONE:  I’m taking our baby outta here.

MARLEY:  Good idea.

TYRONE:  You’re not coming?

MARLEY:  No.  I have some things to say to my grandfather.  

TYRONE:  We’re gonna be right outside.  

MARLEY STARES STRAIGHT AT REGINALD.

AT THE CORYS, RACHEL IS IN THE LIVING ROOM PUTTING HER EARRINGS ON AS SHE IS DRESSED IN A BLACK SUIT WITH A WHITE BLOUSE.  MATT, DRESSED IN A BROWN SUIT, WALKS IN.

RACHEL:  Is everything set?

MATT:  Yes.  It’s a go.

RACHEL:  Good.

RACHEL:  I am.  I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time.

THOMASINA TEXTS BACK:  I’ll check with her.

BRIANNA KNOCKS ON THE AJAR OFFICE DOOR AND PEEKS IN.

BRIANNA:  I’m sorry Dr. Mason are you busy?

THOMASINA:  No no.  I actually would like to see you.  Come on in.

BRIANNA SHUTS THE DOOR.

BRIANNA:  I’d like to thank you for coming to my rescue earlier with Dr. Winthrop.

THOMASINA:  I’ve spoken to her about her behavior.  It won’t happen again.

BRIANNA:  Thanks again but...I’m really concerned about her.  I mean she’s been acting strangely.

THOMASINA:  What do you mean?

BRIANNA:  What you saw was not the first time she snapped at me like that.  She’s jealous that I’m dating Matt Cory.

THOMASINA:  Dr. Winthrop understands that she should leave her personal feelings outside of the job.

BRIANNA:  I get that, but I...I really see something else.  Someone who may need some help.

IRIS STOPS SHUFFLING HER PAPERS, LOOKS DIRECTLY AT ALLEN, AND SMILES.

IRIS:  Well do tell.

RACHEL:  Are you serious?  Again?

AMANDA:  I couldn’t believe it.  I mean he had the audacity to snoop through the documents.  I was right in the bathroom.  Did he not think that I would catch him?

MATT:  Yeah that wasn’t very smart.

RACHEL:  Iris put him up to it this time.

MATT:  Of course she did.  I wonder what she has on Allen.

AMANDA:  I don’t care what it is, if there’s anything at all.  He shouldn’t have done that.  He shouldn’t have betrayed me.  It took me a while to trust him after the first time he tried to sabotage the company.  This time, I don’t know if I’ll be able to.

ALLEN:  I looked at the document that Amanda for the merger meeting.

IRIS:  Hmmm I’m sure you saw something that can be useful to me.

ALLEN:  I saw that...Sandy Cory’s proxy wasn’t designated.

IRIS:  Really?  That’s all?

ALLEN:  Yeah...that’s all.

IRIS:  Well I kinda knew that.  I mean I thought you were gonna...give me some real juicy details.

IRIS SIGHS.

IRIS SHUTS HER BRIEFCASE AND PREPARES TO LEAVE.

MARLEY SLOWLY WALKS TOWARD REGINALD, WHO IS BEDRIDDEN, HOOKED UP TO TUBES, AS HIS HEART MONITOR BEEPS.

MARLEY:  I hear you have an infection.

REGINALD (coughing and swallowing his saliva):  I’ll be okay.  Are you...hoping for something to happen?

MARLEY:  I...I didn’t say that.

REGINALD:  I can feel it.  You want me to die.  If...if I don’t, you’ll be running.

MARLEY:  What are you talking about?

REGINALD:  You...know what I’m saying.  That precious little boy you gave birth to.  It’s a miracle isn’t it?  Everybody thought you couldn’t have children.

MARLEY:  And you tried to have him kidnapped.  Why?

REGINALD COUGHS AGAIN.

REGINALD:  I’m better equipped to….raise him.

MARLEY:  Is that right?  Like the way you raised Donna, Peter and Nicole?  You mean, they haven’t handed you a ‘father of the year’ award yet?

REGINALD LAUGHS.

REGINALD:  I’m a better parent that all of you put together.

MARLEY:  You’re a horrible parent!  And an even worse person.  Everything you’ve done to this family.  Maybe you should die.

REGINALD LAUGHS AND COUGHS AGAIN.  HE GATHERS HIMSELF.

REGINALD:  Me?  Die?  I survived a fall off of a clock tower and fighting with stable boy.  Do you really think this little infection is gonna take me out?  You and Tyrone can’t run forever.  I’ll find you, and I’ll raise my great-grandson.

MEANWHILE, OUTSIDE THE AJAR DOOR, CECILE OVERHEARS MARLEY AND REGINALD’S CONVERSATION, AND SHE QUIETLY SHUTS THE DOOR. OUTSIDE OF THE ROOM, CECILE HAS TWO BIG, BURLY HENCHMEN WALK UP TO HER.

IN A LIMOUSINE, RACHEL, AMANDA, AND MATT ARE ALL SITTING IN THE BACK.  MATT IS SITTING ACROSS FROM RACHEL AND AMANDA.

AMANDA:  Sometimes I wonder...if daddy’s watching.

RACHEL:  Of course he is.  He’d be proud of you both.

MATT:  I miss Mac.

RACHEL:  We all do Matthew.  I know you two didn’t agree when I married Carl but...I never forgot about Mac.  I will never forget him.

AMANDA:  I wonder what he would say about this merger between KBAY and Cory Productions.

MATT:  Mac was all about growing the business.  I’m sure he’d agree with it.

AT THE POLICE STATION, TONI IS OUTSIDE THE INTERROGATION ROOM WITH MITCH AND DEVIN.

MITCH:  The D.A. wants to press charges against her?

TONI:  They said the evidence was circumstantial.  

DEVIN:  So then my grandmother should be freed.

TONI:  We have to wait...until Christy Carson shows up.   

MITCH:  I’m not...sure what good that would do.  I mean Christy’s going through enough pain losing her child and going through that accident.  You’re gonna have her relive all of that again.

TONI:  I have to explore that avenue.

DEVIN:  Come on Toni, you know the good Felicia has done, and everything she’s meant to Bay City.  She made a huge mistake, that’s all.  

TONI:  The only way the D.A. will bring up charges is if Christy presses them.

TONI WALKS INTO THE INTERROGATION ROOM WHERE CASS IS STANDING ACROSS FROM FELICIA, WITH THE TABLE BETWEEN THEM.

AMANDA SUDDENLY APPEARS BEHIND HIM AT THE BATHROOM DOOR.

AMANDA:  What the hell do you think you’re doing?

ALLEN:  You...you guys really gonna do that?

AMANDA (snatching the document back):  Yeah it’s happening, but what were you looking for?  You...no...no that can’t be.

ALLEN WALKS TO THE DOOR HOLDING HIS HEAD WITH HIS HANDS, THEN HE FACES AMANDA.

ALLEN:  Amanda you can’t leave.  Let’s talk about this.

AMANDA:  I can’t even look at you.  I should have seen this coming.  All the time you’ve been spending with Toni.

ALLEN:  The only thing I talk about with Toni is our daughter.

AMANDA:  The night we were supposed to have dinner at Tops.  I got called away, and you went straight to Toni.  I saw you two at the Center.  How could I be so stupid.

TONI:  Um...Christy...I will need to see you in my office.  

CHRISTY IS LOOKING DIRECTLY AT FELICIA.

CHRISTY:  So you...found the hit and run driver?  You found the person who killed my baby?

TONI:  Yes we did.

FELICIA:  Christy I’m...I’m so sorry.  It was...a terrible accident.

CHRISTY LOOKS OVER AT CASS.

CHRISTY:  Cass?  She killed our baby, and you’re representing her in this case?

CHRISTY (sighs):  I...I see that...Felicia has suffered enough.
