RUSS:  I had to come by and check and see if you were still alive.
IRIS:  I’m fine.  I’ve just so busy with the merger meeting coming up.  I haven’t had a whole lot of time.  I’m sorry.  I have so much to do.  I may have to take a raincheck on dinner.
RUSS:  How about a club sandwich from the Center deli.  They’re excellent I heard.
IRIS:  Um...yeah...I could use a break.  Let’s go.

ERIC:  I just came from the hospital.  My mother’s there.
KC:  Wait a minute I...I thought your mother was leaving Bay City.
ERIC:  She got in an accident.
KC:  Oh...is she okay?
ERIC:  She’s in shock.  I think she’s gonna be fine.
KC:  She was pregnant wasn’t she?  Oh…
ERIC:  She lost the baby.
KC:  I’m so sorry.  Is there anything I can do?
ERIC:  Not really.  I’m going to work.  Good luck on your interview.

CHARLIE:  I dunno about these things.
MAGGIE:  Oh come on lil sis.  You’ll be fiiiiiine.  You’re gonna do great.
CHARLIE:  Where’s her office?
MAGGIE:  Right down the hall.  Hey have you talked to your mom?
CHARLIE:  No not lately why?
MAGGIE:  I got a favor to ask of her.
CHARLIE:  She’s not doing to P.I. business so she’s probably home.

Robin Mattson as Christy Carson

Wendy Moniz as Brianna/Ellen

CHRISTY:  Did you really think you could outwit me bitch?  You tell me...you give me one good reason why I shouldn’t tell everyone who you really are?

PART 2

AT THE KBAY OFFICES, ALLEN IS WALKING THROUGH THE HALL AND RUNS INTO CORY.
Drew Tyler Bell as Cory Hutchins
Sean Blakemore as Allen Love

ALLEN:  Cory?  What’s up?  What are you doing here?
CORY:  Hey I’m...looking for Iris.  Have you seen her?
ALLEN:  She must have stepped out for a minute.  She should be back soon.

------

AT THE CENTER, RUSS AND IRIS ARE SITTING ACROSS FROM EACH OTHER.  IRIS IS DABBING CRUMBS FROM EACH SIDE OF HER MOUTH WITH A NAPKIN AS SHE CHEWS THE LAST OF HER SANDWICH.

RUSS:  Someone was hungry.

IRIS DRINKS A SWIG OF WATER TO WASH DOWN HER FOOD.

IRIS (after she swallows):  I was.  I hadn’t had anything to eat since yesterday.
RUSS:  Well you’ve gotta eat regularly my dear.
IRIS:  Okay Dr. Matthews this is not the time to put your physician hat on.
RUSS:  Right, but you know I’m always gonna be concerned about you.
IRIS:  Thanks but you don’t need to be.  I’m a big girl.
RUSS:  Iris come on.  Don’t be like that.
IRIS:  Russ you just got back.  Easy on the advice okay?

THEY BOTH SMILE AT EACH OTHER.

IRIS:  So tell me how are things at the hospital?
RUSS:  As you know I didn’t get the Chief of Staff position.
IRIS:  I used to be on the hospital board.  A lot has changed since I was on the committee.
RUSS:  Well they decided on Thomasina Mason.
IRIS:  Thomasina Mason?  Who’s she?
RUSS:  She used to live in Bay City a long time ago.  It seems like she’s returned to town with a chip on her shoulder.
IRIS:  I know how that can feel.
RUSS:  I asked her about a patient and she darned near snapped at me.
IRIS:  Hmmm there are two sides to that story I’m sure.
RUSS:  Okay okay maybe I overstepped, but she took it as I was trying to belittle her ability to handle the job.
IRIS:  Were you?
RUSS:  Of course not.  I would never do that intentionally.  I was just trying to help.
IRIS:  Okay, I’ll take your word for it.
RUSS:  But I noticed something with her.  It’s almost like...she’s got something to prove.
IRIS:  Maybe she just feels the pressure of doing a great job.
RUSS:  No...no it’s...something else but I...I just can’t quite figure it out.

CORY WALKS UP TO THEM…

IRIS:  Cory?  Hi.
RUSS:  Hello Cory.
CORY:  Iris.  Hey can I...talk to you?
RUSS:  Yeah we...were kinda in the middle of lunch.
CORY:  Hey I’m sorry.  I didn’t mean to interrupt.

IRIS PUTS HER LEFT HAND ON CORY’S BACK.

IRIS:  No not at all.  Of course you weren’t honey.  I have to get back to work.   Is everything okay?
CORY:  No not really.
IRIS:  Of course.  Your dad.  You can come with me back to the office if you need to talk.
CORY:  Thank you.  I’d like that.
IRIS:  Russ, thanks for lunch.  Very much appreciated.
RUSS:  Anytime.

---------

AT THE HOSPITAL, CHARLIE WALKS INTO THOMASINA’S OFFICE.  THOMASINA IS SITTING AT HER DESK, THEN SHE GETS UP AND GOES TO GREET CHARLIE.
Amelia Marshall as Dr. Thomasina Mason

THOMASINA:  Hello Mrs. Harrison.
CHARLIE:  Hi Dr. Mason.
THOMASINA:  Go on have a seat on the couch.  Make yourself comfortable.
CHARLIE:  This is a nice office.  Congratulations on Chief of Staff by the way.

THOMASINA PACES SLOWLY BACK AND FORTH WITH HER ARMS FOLDED.

THOMASINA:  Thank you.  So you’re here because you want the PR Internship here?  Why?
CHARLIE:  It’s something I...I have always wanted to do and...have a passion for speaking to the public.
THOMASINA:  I...can tell you liked P.R.  You took it at your other school.

CHARLIE HESITATES FOR A SECOND…

CHARLIE:  Yes I...I did.
THOMASINA:  What happened?  Why did you stop?
CHARLIE:  I...had a lot of things going on.  I just wasn’t ready for the courseload.
THOMASINA:  And what makes you ready now?
CHARLIE:  When I went to the other school, I didn’t know what to expect, but now I have a better understanding of what it takes to get through school.
THOMASINA:  What makes you a good candidate for this position?  Why should I hire you?
CHARLIE:  Well like I said before I...have a passion for getting up in front of people and speaking; giving information; press releases, all of that.

THOMASINA STOPS PACING AND FACES CHARLIE.

THOMASINA:  We all have passions for different things.  This takes dedication; hard work; making sure that you are communicating clearly to our constituents, and that you forge a good relationship with the public.  That’s my goal.  I plan to have this hospital recognized in the community in a positive light, and I want someone who can share that same vision with me.  It will really help you in your career goals.  A successful internship at Bay City Medical Center can take you a long way.
CHARLIE:  I fully realize that Dr. Mason and I know I can be what you’re looking for.
THOMASINA:  And all of that sounds well and good, but I do have a concern about you leaving your other school.
CHARLIE:  As I said I’ve...I’ve learned from my mistakes and now I’m ready to take this on.
THOMASINA:  Well...thank you Mrs. Harrison.  I think I...have all the information I need from you.  Do you have any questions for me?
CHARLIE:  No...none that I can think of.
THOMASINA:  Well you do have my contact information, so you can call or email if you think of something.
CHARLIE:  Thank you for this opportunity Dr. Mason.
THOMASINA:  Sure.

THOMASINA SMILES AS CHARLIE LEAVES THE OFFICE, AND AS CHARLIE LEAVES, KC WALKS UP TO HER.

KC:  Hey Charlie.  Is that Dr. Mason’s office?
CHARLIE:  Yeah...yeah it is.
KC:  Sorry I have an interview with her.
CHARLIE:  For the P.R. internship?
KC:  Ummm….yeah is that what you...were interviewing for?
CHARLIE:  Yeah I did.  It seemed to go pretty well.
KC:  Well good luck.
CHARLIE:  Same to you.

AT THE WINTHROPS, MAGGIE RINGS THE DOORBELL AND FRANKIE OPENS THE DOOR.
Alice Barrett as Frankie Frame

FRANKIE:  Hey there.  Come on in.  Wait a minute, before you close the door.

MAGGIE TAKES OUT HER CAR KEYS, PRESSES THE LOCK BUTTON, AND HEARS THE BEEP.

FRANKIE:  Good.  Now you can come in.
MAGGIE:  History right.
FRANKIE:  Yeah we don’t wanna repeat that.  So what’s up?
MAGGIE:  Is Cass here?
FRANKIE:  No he’s at the office.  Why?  You want me to call him?
MAGGIE:  No.  I need to talk to you.
FRANKIE:  What is it?  Is everything alright?
MAGGIE:  Everything’s great with me, but not with Brianna Jameson.
FRANKIE:  Who’s that?
MAGGIE:  She’s a nurse at the hospital, and something about her just doesn’t...sit right with me.
FRANKIE:  Do you have any idea what it might be that’s got you suspicious?
MAGGIE:  I don’t knoooow.  She’s dating Matt and she’s not right for him.  She’s phony.
FRANKIE:  So what do you want me to do?  Look into her past?
MAGGIE:  Yeah.
FRANKIE:  Well I can’t look into her background because you’re jealous Maggie.
MAGGIE:  Oh my God.  Rachel said the same thing.  It’s not jealousy.
FRANKIE:  Sounds like it to me.  Matt can date who he wants.
MAGGIE:  Yeah but not her.  Something about her isn’t right.  Frankie please.  What if you find something in her background that could stop her from hurting him?
FRANKIE:  And what if I don’t?
MAGGIE:  So you’re telling me that you’re not gonna at least give it a look.

FRANKIE IS SILENT FOR A FEW SECONDS AS SHE MULLS IT OVER…

FRANKIE:  No I...I just can’t do that Maggie.  I can’t go digging into someone’s past because you think she’s not right for Matt.
MAGGIE:  You could be saving him a world of hurt if you could find something on her.
FRANKIE:  I’m sorry I...I can’t go investigating her without a cause.
MAGGIE:  And if she hurts Matthew will you be able to live with yourself?
FRANKIE:  Maggie, all I see here is that you’re jealous of her.  Do you have feelings for Matt?

MAGGIE  STOPS AND THEN…

MAGGIE:  No don’t be ridiculous.  Of course I don’t have feelings for Matt.   I’m just...I’m just looking out for his best interests that’s all.  If Brianna hurts him, that bitch is gonna have to deal with me.

---------

MEANWHILE BACK AT THE HOSPITAL, IN CHRISTY’S ROOM…

BRIANNA:  Because...because you need me.  You still need me.
CHRISTY:  The first thing you can do is get me a new bed.
BRIANNA:  I’ll...I’ll tell the police you told me to kidnap Maggie Winthrop.
CHRISTY:  And what proof do you have?  You sure aren’t very bright to be a nurse.
BRIANNA:  What about the drug?
CHRISTY:  The one I dropped in Felicia’s club soda?  You can’t connect that to me either.  It’s all you dear.  All I have to do is pick up that phone and call the police, and you can kiss your career, and your life, goodbye.

BRIANNA STEPS OUT OF THE WAY AND PICKS UP THE RECEIVER FROM THE PHONE ON THE NIGHTSTAND NEXT TO THE BED.

BRIANNA:  Well call em then!  What’s stopping you?  Call the police and tell em that I kidnapped Maggie!

CHRISTY TAKES OUT HER CELL PHONE AND PRESSES A BUTTON, AND IT PLAYS BACK WHAT BRIANNA JUST SAID.

CHRISTY:  That was just for insurance.
BRIANNA:  You bitch.
CHRISTY:  If I were you I’d watch your mouth.  I have your whole life in my hands, but I’m not gonna use this, because you’re right.  I do need you.
BRIANNA:  For what?
CHRISTY:  When I find out who killed my baby, you’re gonna help me take them down.
BRIANNA:  How am I supposed to do that?
CHRISTY:  You better figure something out, or I will go straight to the police.

CHRISTY LOOKS AWAY FROM BRIANNA…

CHRISTY:  When I find out who hit me on Route 17, I promise you...I’m gonna make them pay.

PART 1
Drew Tyler Bell as Cory Hutchins
Victoria Wyndham as Rachel Cory Hutchins

AT THE CORYS, RACHEL IS WALKING DOWNSTAIRS TO THE FOYER.  SHE LOOKS TO HER RIGHT AND SEES CORY IN THE LIVING ROOM.  HE IS ON HIS PHONE WEARING HIS HEADSETS.

RACHEL:  Cory?

CORY CONTINUES WITH WHATEVER HE’S DOING AS HE DOESN’T HEAR RACHEL.  RACHEL WALKS IN AND REMOVES HIS WIRELESS HEADSETS.

RACHEL:  I suppose you didn’t hear me calling you.
CORY:  I’m playing a game.
RACHEL:  I was hoping you, Elizabeth and I can go to the Center and have some breakfast.
CORY:  Not hungry.
RACHEL:  Well what about lunch?
CORY:  Mom.  I don’t wanna go eat.
RACHEL:  You can’t sit here and play your games all day.
CORY:  No say what you really mean.
RACHEL:  What are you talking about?
CORY:  You want me to express how I feel about dad’s death.
RACHEL:  You said it not me.
CORY:  So you wanna know how I really feel?  I feel absolutely nothing.
RACHEL:  I don’t think that’s true.  I want you to talk to me.
CORY (throwing up his hands):  Talk to you about what mom!
RACHEL:  You can’t hold this in forever.  I know how you had doubts about your father when he came back, but he was a wonderful man, and he loved you.
CORY:  Wonderful man?  No he wasn’t.  And I don’t feel like running down his list of crimes.

CORY GETS UP AND WALKS PAST RACHEL.

RACHEL:  Where are you going?
CORY:  To get some air.  Suddenly it’s stuffy in here.
RACHEL:  Cory?

CORY WALKS THROUGH THE FOYER, WHILE ELIZABETH WALKS DOWNSTAIRS.
Kelley Missal as Elizabeth Hutchins

ELIZABETH:  Where are you headed?
CORY:  Out.  Maybe mom can counsel you.
ELIZABETH:  Oh.

RACHEL WALKS IN THE FOYER AS CORY LEAVES.

RACHEL:  My son doesn’t want to have breakfast with me at the Center.
ELIZABETH:  I’ll go.
------

AT THE CENTER, STACEY IS STANDING NEXT TO A VENDOR STAND WHILE TALKING ON HER CELL PHONE.

STACEY:  Yeah so you received my paperwork?  Good.  I guess I can start tying up the loose ends in Bay CIty.  I can be in L.A. by the end of the week.  Thank you.

STACEY TURNS AROUND AND SEES MICHAEL.

MICHAEL:  Did I hear right?  L.A.?
STACEY:  Michael.
MICHAEL:  You’re leaving Bay City again?  When were you gonna tell me?

----
Wendy Moniz as Brianna/Ellen

AT THE HOSPITAL, BRIANNA APPROACHES CHRISTY’S ROOM.  SHE LOOKS INSIDE THE RECTANGULAR GLASS AND SEES CHRISTY, WHOSE BACK IS FACING THE DOOR AS SHE LIES IN BED.  BRIANNA REACHES INSIDE THE RIGHT POCKET OF HER SCRUBS AND TAKES OUT THE SCALPEL THEN SUDDENLY, SOMEONE UNWITTINGLY STOPS HER...WITH A BOUQUET OF ROSES.

MATT:  Brianna?  Hey.

CAMERA PAN ON BRIANNA...SLOW FADE TO THEME SONG.

PART 2
Kale Browne as Michael Hudson
Lesli Kay as Stacey Winthrop

STACEY:  I didn’t think I owed you an explanation.
MICHAEL:  Stacey come on, you’re just gonna pick up and leave Bay City after everything we’ve meant to each other?
STACEY:  You’re with Donna.  I’m not about to come between you two, and there’s nothing left for me here.
MICHAEL:  What about your daughter?  Your brother?
STACEY:  My family is fully grown.  They don’t need me.
MICHAEL:  So you’re running away?  Stacey talk to me.
STACEY:  Michael stop it!  My life is none of your concern, and I want you to stay away from me.

STACEY WALKS AWAY AS VICKY WALKS UP TO MICHAEL.
Jensen Buchanan as Vicky Hudson

MICHAEL:  Stacey!
VICKY:  Oh dad, you should listen to the woman.
MICHAEL:  Oh not now Victoria okay?

MICHAEL TRIES TO WALK PAST VICKY BUT SHE STOPS HIM…

VICKY:  Why are you so concerned with Stacey leaving Bay City?  As far as I’m concerned it’s good riddance.

MICHAEL TURNS AROUND TO FACE VICKY AND MOVES CLOSER TO HER.

MICHAEL:  Are you still blaming her for what happened between you and Jake?
VICKY:  She came here because she wanted all of us to know that Lindsay was Jake’s daughter.
MICHAEL:  When are you gonna take responsibility for your part in what happened in your marriage?
VICKY:  If Stacey and Lindsay hadn’t come here….
MICHAEL:  No Victoria!  If Stacey and Lindsay hadn’t come to Bay City, it would have been something else that broke the two of you up.  There was no trust between you and Jake.
VICKY:  And I don’t trust you or Stacey right now.  What would mother think if I told her what I heard?
MICHAEL:  Don’t tell Donna okay?
VICKY:  It was almost like you were pleading with Stacey to stay in Bay City.  Why?  You still have feelings for her don’t you?
MICHAEL:  I’m not discussing this with you, especially not here.
VICKY:  It’s true isn’t it?  You’re still pining for her.

----

MEANWHILE, RACHEL IS SITTING ACROSS FROM ELIZABETH AT A TABLE.  THE TWO ARE NOT TALKING UNTIL..

RACHEL:  You haven’t touched your food.
ELIZABETH:  I was hungry when we left the house but I guess I’m not anymore.
RACHEL:  I’m...really concerned about your brother...and you.
ELIZABETH:  What about?  We’ll be fine..
RACHEL:  Elizabeth, honey, I want you to talk to me.  I hope you feel like you can come to me with anything you’re feeling.  I miss your father, and I know you do, too.
ELIZABETH:  Do you, mom?
RACHEL:  Of course I do.  I loved Carl, against everyone’s wishes.
ELIZABETH:  And you let him die.
RACHEL:  We did everything we could to save his life.
ELIZABETH:  Well you didnt do enough.
RACHEL:  I can’t believe you’re saying this to me.  Carl had an inoperable brain tumor.  There was nothing any of us could do.  Don’t you think if I could save his life, I would have?
ELIZABETH:  No.
RACHEL (shaking her head):  Elizabeth honey, we have to stick together.  We’re all we have left.
ELIZABETH:  No mom, you have Matthew and Amanda.  Who do Cory and I have?
RACHEL:  You have your mother, and you have Matthew and Amanda, too.
ELIZABETH:  They thought I was stupid.  They resented us from the day we were born, and they hated daddy, and I think somewhere inside of you, you hated him, too.  You let him die so you can get back at him for what he did to you and Mac.
RACHEL:  You stop this right now!  I loved your father and I miss him, and I will not sit here and listen to you talk to me that way.
ELIZABETH:  Well you wanted me to talk to you right?  You wanted me to tell you how I felt?  Now you don’t wanna hear it!
RACHEL:  Elizabeth!
ELIZABETH:  Why don’t you find Amanda and Matt?  Maybe they’ll talk to you!

ELIZABETH GETS UP AND WALKS AWAY.

---
Matt Crane as Matt Cory

BRIANNA:  Matt.  Hi.  What are you doing here?
MATT:  Well I got something for you.
BRIANNA:  What am I suppose to do with these?
MATT:  Umm..put them in water?

THEY BOTH LAUGH.

BRIANNA:  I know...I meant...I’m doing rounds and I have to put these somewhere.
MATT:  Come on let’s go the nurse’s station real quick.  There should be something that we can put them in there.
BRIANNA:  Matt I...this patient is due for her medication.  I can’t just leave.
MATT:  Okay...alright.  I’ll put them in water for you...if you agree to have dinner with me tonight.
BRIANNA (smiling):  I’d like that, but what about your work?
MATT:  I’m putting that aside for you tonight.
BRIANNA:  Wow.  Thank you.
MATT:  So I’ll fulfill my end of this bargain…
BRIANNA:  Yes please, go put those in water before they die right before our eyes.
MATT:  Right.  So eight o’clock?
BRIANNA:  Yes.  Sounds perfect.
MATT:  See ya then…

BRIANNA SMILES AS SHE WATCHES MATT WALK AWAY, THEN SHE TURNS HER SMILE INTO A FOCUSED, SERIOUS LOOK AS SHE LOOKS AT CHRISTY’S ROOM.  SHE WALKS TO THE DOOR OF CHRISTY’S ROOM, LOOKS TO HER RIGHT, THEN TO HER LEFT, AND OPENS THE DOOR.  SHE CATCHES THE DOOR FROM SLAMMING.  BRIANNA TAKES OUT HER SCALPEL, AND WALKS SLOWLY TOWARD THE BED.  THE BODY LYING IN THE BED IS COVERED SO SHE CAN’T REALLY SEE WHO IT IS.  SHE RAISES HER WEAPON AND BEGINS TO STAB THE BODY REPEATEDLY.  SHE DOESN’T GET ANY REACTION FROM THE BODY, SO SHE LIFTS THE BLANKETS TO ENSURE THAT CHRISTY IS DEAD, BUT SHE SEES THAT IT’S NOT CHRISTY.  IT’S SOMEONE ELSE’S CORPSE!

BRIANNA:  Oh my God.

SUDDENLY, CHRISTY
Robin Mattson as Christy Carson
WRAPS A STETHOSCOPE AROUND BRIANNA’S NECK FROM BEHIND AND BEGINS TO STRANGLE HER!

FREEZE FRAME ON CHRISTY AND BRIANNA...SLOW FADE OUT...END OF EPISODE 251
